Don't worry, the DM's will give you a cool 10K for that circlet.

i'm not a fan of taking away immunity items, but i'd rather give them up than all the work i've put into my character. i just plain wouldn't have the patience to reestablish all of those contacts and alliances.

i think the main problem with immunity items is when there are multiple immunities. a single immunity per character shouldn't be overpowering at all. it's just a change in tactics. fireball doesn't work? use a lightning bolt.

I don't think they'll wipe because that means people who spammed quests and have level 30's will put up a stink about it.

Immunity items bug me because they're clearly overpowering.

I am also in favor of removing the Storm Avatar spell or at least the part which gives it 100% concealment from ranged weapons, making some builds completely redundant in PvP.

Can ye blame them for doing that? :P im quite happy about were i am, 23.. and quite happy for my two items with immunity, so i think it blows, but no use for agueing since the staff have made the choice.

... i think Carbondk said yes to this in hopes that she would get Za'than to take his mask off ... IT WONT HAPPEN CARBON! *shakes fist*

I hope the DMs realize that they've probably just doubled the effective spell caster population since nobody will want to play a Gimped Melee class even more so now.

I think Stormlords could have been handled better, making them restricted to Talos. If you had 30-40 Talossians running around, then I think the current nerf would be warranted.
Wanna play NWN 2 online, this server basicly is the only place to be ;)
That's just a dangerous, foolish thing to say. While this server is quite good and one of the better builds out there, it is not the only choice. That kind of mentality breaks up communities.

Hmmmm, I don't really think immunity items were holding back the spell caster population. There are no "Immunity: Evocation" or "Immunity: Bigby" items in the game that I'm aware of.

He means more people will play casters now since casters WILL have the immunity through their spells.

Exactly. Mark my words, it will happen. If there is anybody who goes Melee, they will be hybrids with spell casting abilities.

It's pretty hard for the devs to come up with decent mobs when players are immune to all the effects and special abilities they put on them.

Yes, casters still have that possibility, but let's deal with that some other time. As Carnifex said, those items were never supposed to be in the game in the first place.
Irini Valkyrian - High Hand of Ice
Iliana DeVir - Darksong Knight
Janus Aurelius - Young paladin
Nyx Erebos - Lady of mystery

@ c2k and Flas,

Oh, LOL, gotcha. That does make more sense.

Well, even with immunity items in place on your typical melee classes, casters and caster hybrids were the more powerful choice anyway, so I have to respectfully disagree with that sentiment. Unless there is a vault wipe, nobody is going to ditch their character if they can't use a cloak of movement.

And if people were really making builds and counting on certain items to cover their weaknesses, then I think this is most assuredly a step in the right direction. Needing a specific item to be a good build is probably a sign that the item is a bit too strong.

Damn... I guess +3 gear is next to go, because its the only way my fighter can survive.

I'm not really against seeing some of the immunity items going btw. Immunity to Mind Spells and Perma-Freedom of Movement is very lame. However, I don't think you need to witch hunt every immunity item in the game, because some of them are not so great. Immunity to Poison isn't so great for instance, because there comes a point where saves make diseases, poisons, and most spells obsolete.

I just heard that DMs are taking back items that cannot be store-bought. Is it just me or does that mean that non-caster builds will be gimped even more by the lack of +3 items available in stores (and now events)?

Honestly this means that some of the items the DEVs have made will never see the light of day if they are not in the loot tables as you can't get them through stores or events.

Can a member of staff confirm what's going on with this?
