A call for bards - The Slayers

Unread post by Karond »

With memorable poems, stories and songs fresh in mind from the performers guild and their honoric event for the dwarves outside of Doron Amar, Loku had a moment of inspiration. He had talked about it often with other Slayers, and heard such thoughts were not entirely uncommon. Time had perhaps come to seek one out, the coming rememberer, so that the brave deeds and deaths would not be forgotten by the living. A call would be sent out.

The Rememberer

A rememberer is a part of the Slayer warband, whose duty it is to record the deaths of the Slayers that fall so that they will be remembered. He writes songs and poems, often called Death Songs, in which he chants out names, deeds and oaths, and he collects stories from the adventures he is on. The Slayers in turn are often inspired by such a character among them, and fight even harder around him to prove themselves worthy of rememberance, their stamina and determination at the maximum.

Not only does the Rememberer tell such stories and thus increases the fame of fallen and living Slayers, he acts as a recorder of history. In many ways, he is a public spokesperson for the warband, one that seeks to find a way of communication between outsiders and his rather psychopathic and socially inept allies. To become accepted as a rememberer, it is very important the character is very loyal, brave and trustworthy, personally traits the dwarves respect.

Qualifications:

Class: Must be majority Bard.

Race: Dwarf, Earth Genasi, Human, Gnome or Halfling (others need a whole lot of convincing).

Sex: Preferrably male, but if you can make female work, sure.

Basically, a rememberer would act as a "mascot" and sort of public person. He would get full access to the Slayer Armory, be a full member of the guild and be invited to all dwarven events. The position is ONLY for ONE person, no more, no less. He cannot join other guilds and he must know quite a bit about the Slayers, and stories of our deeds that he picks up as we travel together. For what worth is a death if it is not remembered?

// We're looking for interested bards that want to adopt this concept and this position. As said, you'll be a full member of the guild with all the advantages that includes, and you don't even need to be a dwarf to be part of our dwarven guild. For all interested, we'll have a trial period with interested individuals, to find someone that is to our liking. Good roleplay, creativity, and activity are nice things to have. If you're looking at this character as your 23rd character, you're not the one we seek. Preferably, we would want it to be one of your 2-3 main characters to ensure you're around as much as is needed when you can spare the time to play.

Current characters can apply, just need to adapt to the role. Leave a message if interested.
