Background: Dur’ssysn was raised mainly in the Drow metropolis known as Eryndlyn on the Vhaerunite-dominated northeastern plateau. A few years after birth a raid by the Lolthites was conducted and in the process his parents and his 2 sisters were killed, leaving just him and his elder brother, Jhaelzyr, alive. Jhaelzyr abandoned his younger brother just after the raid took place and fled towards the Ghaunadaur-controlled section of Eryndlyn. A minor house found Dur'ssysn while they were pushing back the Lolthite forces and took him in, sensing magical potential in him. This minor house was actually the fosterage set up by Jaezred Chaulssin for Eryndlyn in the Year of Shadows after they decided to raise the next generation of assassins in other cities. Que’llar Auvry'ath, while a small house and of no significant power or influence in Eryndlyn, did not forget their common kinship. Despite the fact that they were scattered in many new homes, the various houses of Jaezred Chaulssin still considered themselves one house, the ruling Que’llar Chaulssin.

As Dur’ssysn grew older and stronger he developed the uncanny ability of being able to manipulate the Weave to his own desire. The fosterage was pleased that they were not mistaken on his magical capabilities when they found him nearly 100 years ago. Nevertheless, Dur’ssysn developed his arcane talents, slowly at first, but he soon began to progress faster and faster. He particularly excelled in spells dealing with shadow and ice and was able to conceal himself from others with ease. Noticing this, he took on the name Dur'ssysn, Sorcerer of Ice, as it seemed to fit him well.

The Patron Father of Que’llar Auvry'ath, seeing the progress the Dur'ssysn was making, decided that it was time to bring him into the fold of the Jaezred Chaulssin. He told Dur'ssysn of what had happened to his family when he was born, knowing full well that this would ignite a spark of anger within Dur'ssysn, something he believed all members of Jeazred Chaulssin needed into order to effectively eliminate the Lolthite presence in the Underdark. It most certainly did so, as Dur'ssysn disappeared for nearly 6 months. During this time he sought out his elder brother, feeling both agner and curiosity towards him for abandoning him when he was little. After having searched for months and not finding him at all, he turned his attention towards the Lolthite section of the city, bent on revenge. Unfortunately, the fosterage, Que'llar Auvry'ath, found him and brought him back, telling him to save that anger for the years to come, for it would only grow as time passed.

Dur'ssysn did so, and continued training under the watchful eye of the Patron Father as he slowly learned the ways of becoming a member of Jaezred Chaulssin The Patron Father, being very pleased with the pupil he had manipulated into becoming the perfect assassin for Jaezred Chaulssin, decided that Dur’ssysn’s time was finished in his fosterage and sent him to S'shamath to connect with the fosterage located within and to eventually become a true member of Jaezred Chaulssin.

Goals: To further develop is arcane abilities, find his brother, become a member of Jaezred Chaulssin and to cripple the Lolthite presence within S'shamath.

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: He has a strong hatred towards all Lolthites and wishes to see them destroyed. His brother could've caught wind of Dur'ssysn searching from him and is now looking for Dur'ssysn. He is also in the final stages of becoming a member of Jaezred Chaulssin, in which the Patron Fathers of the Jaezred Chaulssin will normally require a demonstration of skill and commitment in the war against the Spider Queen (usually killing a drow cleric of Lolth and sacrificing her heart on an altar of Vhaeraun).
