Lörn Shallowaters was only in his first two decades of life when he and his brother from their parents. Lörn and his brother Vanidir, were taken by a group of pirates who were in the slave business. Lörn who practiced the mandolin and dueling was no match to protect him and his little brother, who was just began his study of druids. Scared and having no idea what was going to happen to them, Lörn promised his little brother that he would never let them be separated and would always be there for him. This promise was short lived for when they came into the first dock they were instantly separated and sold to different ships.
Losing his brother, Lörn had no idea what he was going to do, he had failed him and spent the first two weeks on his new home in a trance-like state in which he followed every order given without realizing it. He was lucky, out of all of the ships he could have been bought by, he got the one with the fair captain, which actually just made Lörn worry more about his brother.
After another two decades at life at sea Lörn was released from slavery by the fair captain, on the captain’s deathbed. Now a free elf Lörn set out to find his way back home, hoping that his brother would be there waiting for him. When he finally made his way home, a journey which took another three years, he was not a welcome sight for his parents. Although two and a half decades is not very long for elves, going that long having no idea what happened to your sons can have its tolls.
His parents were so happy to see him and instantly began to question of where he and his brother had been. The questions began to focus more and more on Lörn’s brother until they outright asked him where his brother was and why he did not come home with him. Once finding out the truth, his father banished him from his home, claiming the right to do so because Lörn did not keep his younger brother safe nor did he return with him. Heartbroken and on the edge of madness from not knowing where is brother went to Lörn began to jump from ship to ship in hopes of finding his brother, and the bastard who sold them away.
Lörn was very good at hiding his madness and made a few friends on the sea. His closest friends being the ex-captain Hàkurei Sky, who is still quite mad at him for blowing up her ship, and his best friend Lomir, a sneaky little elf who always got him into trouble. After blowing up Sky’s ship and running from her for a year or two, the three friends arrived at Badulr’s Gate, their eyes set on treasure. Lörn also heard that an elf matching the description of his little brother was seen near Baldur's Gate, and Lörn will do anything to find his little brother.
Goals: Find his brother and the man who sold them and also make enough gold to repay Sky for blowing up her ship.
