Background:
Born and raised in Deep Imaskar to the Reyn family, Aranah is in many ways a typical specimen of her people. Highly intelligent with a natural gift for academia she was enrolled into college at the age of 14 by her parents. Possessing a much more flexible mind than many of her peers she studied several and much varied subjects in the general assemblies until, under pressure from her parents, she was forced into tutelage of two master scholars, Omiri and Cor.
These two people have most influenced her ambitions in life; Omiri for the stories of his travels which have ignited her curiousity of the world beyond the great city and Cor for his endless attention to detail in magic and language. While she holds Omiri in near reverence and calls him her mentor, most times she fails to realize exactly how much of her success is due to Cor's constant attention to detail and criticism. Theory and practicals in magic and languages sharpened her skills and talents by the day.
At the age of 20 she completed her final essays and the mandatory thesis of The Weave. Exiting from the college after turning these in she walked directly to the offices of The Keepers, producing a scroll which turned out to be her application to leave the city for an unspecified period of time. Accepted she was told to remain patient and did for the next year, meeting with the office for interviews regarding her interests until at last granted permission.
Clothed in non-descript robes she bid farewell to her family and friends and was led to the ancient Seal by a pair of guardians as well as Cor and Omiri (she had requested their presences). Exchanging pleasantries she was told she would not recall the journey from the city, that this was for the protection of their society but that her journey had begun.
Her next memory was standing alone in a large and dark cavern. Checking, she found herself intact and unharmed with the coins she had taken but missing her mentors volumes she had stowed. On the cavern floor was drawn an arrow in the dirt. Stepping to, Aranah walked feeling quite anxious and succeptable but within minutes came across a team of duergar traders moving goods in a caravan to a city, they said, was named Sshamath.
Goals: To live a comfortable life one day. Before this she plans to explore places she hasn't been and possibly learn the languages of more cultures. She plans to write books on her experiences.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: Interpreter and linguist, interested greatly in all things foreign to her native society.
