Appearance:
Barendir stands a few inches taller than the average shield dwarf, his body shape can almost be compared to a brick. He has blue eyes, and long chestnut colored beard. His beard appears to be well taken care of. The center of his beard has been braided, and is adorned with three golden rings. The rings appear well crafted and has a rune engraved into each of them. The runes read as follows for those who understand dwarven. Around his neck hangs a symbol of lathander made out of steel and gold.

Barendir is almost always clad in shining full plate armor, with gold embroidery in various placed on his armor. His armor appears to be crafted by dwarven smiths as several of the markings on it is Dwarven and the style itself reveals its craftman. A long red cloak with a golden edge billows behind him. His shield is a round shield made out of strong metal, and has yet more runes dedicated to the Morninglord on it.

As mentioned above, Barendir is heavy buildt and is well trained. And considering he does not drink nor use any other substances that can damage his health.

Habits/Hobbies: Despite his uncommon behaviour for a dwarf, Barendir does enjoy some of the classic dwarven hobbies. Such as taking good care of his arms and armour. He enjoys going to the tavern, but for other reasons than most of his kinsmen. (Mostly going there to have a great time but make sure that nothing get's out of hand. And not to mention he has a lovely singing voice...Mhm)

Background:
Barendir hails from the southern parts of the Sword Coast. He is the 3'rd son in family of 8 children. Despite coming from a poor family, he had a great childhood where he was loved and taught the way of the world by his parents. His father was a blacksmith in the village, and made a decent trade crafting arms and armor for the local militia.
After several years, Barendir learned he was not like the rest of his family, he felt as the black sheep of the family. He did not have a passion for the dwarven way of life, and felt a pull to choose a different path. It was during a local festival that he first saw the local clerics, who were all followers of the Morninglord. The town were celebrating a local celebration known as the "Day of the Dead" which were to honor those that had fallen in battle or had otherwise passed on into the next world.
After the festivities they were enjoying a feast prepared to by a local wizard, supposedly conjured by magic to appease all tastes. Quickly followed by music and dancing.
It was during this event that would reveal the path for Barendir, and send him to the clerics of Lathander.
After having spent many years in the temple of Lathander, Barendir travelled the sword coast offering his services to towns and villages. Overseeing funerals and other riturals associated with death, and ofcourse birth. (Midwife dwarf?)
Despite feeling that this was a good life, he decided it was time to do some adventuring, having run into several adventurers in his time. He felt a sudden rekindling of his ancestors lust for adventure. And packed his backpack and headed further north. To the great city of Baldurs Gate.
Goals: To help rid the land of the undead, and to catch the Necromancer who were responsible for the events at the "Day of the Dead"
