DM Gottmoerder's Events
Introduction

I welcome everyone to my events with open arms. My goal is to give out plots that aid you develop your characters and to intensify your overall roleplaying experience. I will be setting out events for you randomly and by requests you send to the DM channels. I might also go ahead and say that I'll be glad to answer your mechanics questions that you may have regarding the game itself.

The Rules

I have similar guidelines to you players as the other DM's do. By following the guidelines you'll ensure you, as well as I, will getting the most out of what's going to be going on. Not following these guidelines will ruin your time, as well as mine, so please take time to read them and memorize them.

1) No Resting without permission. If you find yourself in a cave filled with trolls, even if surrounded by friends, you'll most likely find a humongous club bashing your head if you let your guard down for more than a few minutes.

2) Only roll when asked to roll. Rolls that are made without me asking will be ignored.

3) No godmodding. You may always attempt an action, but no matter how high your scores are, there's always a chance of failure. So try to emote accordingly.

Example: "punches a hole through the wall" is a no-go. "tries to punch through the wall" is acceptable.

4) Use party chat. I might not be right next to you all the time while running events. Using the party chat makes sure that I know what you're up to.

5) No OOC chatting. I expect roleplay while running events, not banter about Justin Bieber's newest albums.

6) Stay civil. If somethings a miss, there's no reason to ruin it for everyone. Instead let's deal with issues maturely and with calm manner, that way everything's better for everyone.

7) Have FUN! That's what we're all doing this for anyway. Do not hesitate to ask, and do not hesitate telling me your wildest ideas. Every event is alive in it's own way, and your contribution is the driving factor.

Cloakwood Uprising
A group of adventurers disturbed the balance in Cloakwood for too long. The Lizardfolk shamans, warriors and chieftains charged in waves and clashed with a stoic group of invaders. The lizardlings being cut down, the shamans took decided to use one of their oldest and most sacred spells. They summoned a great elemental, a gigantic shambling mound, to try to press out the invaders. The invaders though, prevailed no matter how much the shamans tried. As the shambling mound was defeated and the shamans started fleeing deeper into the cloakwood, the adventurers rejoiced and rose their fallen up, for cloakwood was safe once more.. At least for a while..

Stirring and roaring at the Sea Cave

A group of adventurers got hired by Thomas the Tanner to deliver him a bunch of troll hides from a nearby sea cave. The task seemed easy enough, so they stacked themselves with fire and acid equipment and headed off. Once arriving the cave seemed like no other troll cave, except for horrendous blood trails leading off from the entrance deeper into the cave. As they went deeper they heard roars that shook the foundations of the entire cavern, amidst the roars there was chanting and the group soon noticed themselves being surrounded by trolls. After easily dispatching of the weak giants, they continued forward. The roaring got stronger as they progressed, and soon they saw one of the biggest trolls they'd ever seen, a Cave Troll called "Og'rog the Devourer". The battle was fierce, but the group prevailed, determined to get the hides they seek no matter what creatures they'd disturb.

The roars got louder, yet again shaking the foundations of the cave and making a wall collapse. A chanting began, amidst immense roaring. As they pressed forward they encountered something humongous, a Fell Troll Shaman of enormous proportions. A battle of epic proportions took place, but the whole group prevailed even against a big threat like this. As the shaman and it's minions we're felled, the chants stopped and the roaring came to an end. They sought for treasure, finding little every here and there from chests. After they got out they heard a cry for help from the southern part of the caverns. The decided to go have a look.

As they got next to the room where the screaming is, two humongous fell trolls ambushed the group. This battle left them exhausted, taking a life out of one of them.. But his story didn't end, for they had a Rod of Resurrection with them. They found a scared adventurer trapped in the room, hiding under rocks from the trolls. He was named Henry McFiddles, a greenhorn in the adventuring business. The sweaty, shaky, stuttering man asked the adventurers to escort him outside, which they did. He was forever grateful for their aid, running off to his family farm, swearing to remember each and every one of them for their aid. He later decided to quit the whole adventuring business, and to pursue a dream of farming chickens with his wife and sons.

Frozen Trouble

A party of elves, druids and rangers, we're socializing at the Friendly Arm Inn. They ought to go explore wilderness beyond Amn and see what fate would bring them. They traveled long and hard on the trade way, encountering Ettin, Goblin and Hill Giant alike.

When they arrived at near the Cloud Peak, they could could feel the ground shaking as militant Frost Giant shouting boomed among the mountains. They decided to grab a peek at the frozen crystal keep, to see what trouble is brewing.

They slew a lot of Frost Giants on their way, which seemed to be more organized than normally. More shouting in Giant language was heard, and the earth started to crumble and shake as the doors of the Keep opened. Out came a great Frost Giant King with his army of Mystics and Warriors. They started to travel south along the road, to face a an imminent threat of Demon-dealing Lizardfolk Shamans who had been intruding on their lands. The giants spotted the group of adventurers, of which Toshiro emerged to converse as the Giant King asked them their business. Toshiro assured the Frost Giant King that no harm was to come to their keep, and they would leave the peaks in peace. Most of the party agreed, some of them wanted to loot the whole keep, some of them wanted to see the battle in action.

The frost giant king, knowing it's land was threatened decided to leave the tiny elf and it's companions alone, conserving strength for the coming struggle. The party headed out of the mountains and the Giants didn't hear of them again...

A Halflings New Pet

A group of adventurers we're making their way down the trade way, soothing the wolves down instead of killing them. Simultaneously one of Farmer Jorns chickens managed to escape and head down as well, flying over the bridge and heading down to the trade way. The chicken, not being attacked by wolves, headed down until it was spotted by the group. A halfling, Fippi, caught him swiftly. The druids, Anona and Alea, protested on what would be the fate of this chicken, but the Halfling assured them that the chicken would get treatment of kings in her care. The chicken was named John by the halfling, and eventually calmed down in her presence. The chicken and the halfling now travel together.. A beautiful companionship.

The Epic Quest of Thomas the Food Vendor

A guard of the Friendly Arm Inn was harassing the Food Vendor at the Friendly Arm Inn for selling spoiled goods. The Food Vendor, Thomas, decided to talk back to the Guard which didn't lead into anything good. He was about to head to a cold jail, but a Paladin of Siamorphe, Vahlius Grazlawa, intervened. He investigated the situation and found out that Thomas is quite a drunk and unable to store his meat properly, which leads into it spoiling away before it can be sold fresh. Vahlius offered a deal to both, the Guard and the Vendor. He would aid the Vendor in getting something to stop his goods from spoiling, and the Guardsman would leave the Vendor alone. The Vendor knew of one item that could help him, a barrel enchanted with frost, obtained from Candlekeep. Vahlius sensed this could turn out to be an adventure and gathered up a party of nearby observers.

The party ventured, encountering bandits all the way to Candlekeep. When they got there, they got directions off a Guard to seek Phlydia for enchanted items. Phlydia, hearing that the item they seek was for Thomas the drunken Food Vendor upped the price to twenty five thousand gold. Vahlius negotiated with Phlydia, and agreed to retrieve a heart of a Fell Troll to study on in exchange for an enchanted barrel.

The party, not having any clue where to begin from, decided to ask the local tanner for where they could seek such a fierce beast. He tanner told them of a creature matching the description dwelling in the Sea Cave, just northeast from Candlekeep. The party ventured, encountering only a few monsters along the way.

Once they got to the cave they encountered troll after troll, conserving spells of fire and flasks on the vile beasts. They took some time, but they finally managed to get to the end of the cave, where a humongous troll was waiting for them. The troll was no match for the heroic might of the adventurers though, and was eventually felled. They dug out the heart and headed out of the cave.

In candlekeep, Phlydia was more than happy to see them alive and well, and with the item she had requested. She gave Vahlius the enchanted barrel, and the party headed on towards the Friendly Arm Inn. On the way though.. They encountered yet another wave of bandits. The party was able to defeat them though, even without the help of Vahlius himself, who was carrying the barrel.

When they arrived, Thomas the Food Vendor was forever grateful. He swore an oath to Vahlius, to not to drink anymore except on the most important celebrations of the year... If even then.. The Food Vendor now had a storage, and at last all the meat will be fresh to sell.

Rewards: 2500xp to: Vahlius Grazlawa, Lyndis Devon, Thomas Ganderwynn, Matraz Rastine, Cenddern Bloodsail, Elethineth Tey-Tel'Quessir, Wesley Erdanor.

Thomas Ganderwynn managed to grab an unattended dagger while Phlydia was distracted.

Vahlius found a Warhammer with the initials Y.G. on the hilt inside the Sea Cave.

Channelers and Darker Planes

A party had assembled themselves in Cloakwood and we're adventuring among the Trade Way. They had heard rumours of a cave infested with Vile Goblin, and wished to give it a good strike to cull their numbers, with the war under way and all.

The party headed inside and met two halflings, who gave them a quest to find their key. The party agreed and started delving inside, however the Goblins we're far more active than normal, coming in great numbers. Wave after wave they fought, determined on finding the key. The Goblins shouted in their language, but the party couldn't understand.. Not until it was too late.

Moans, bloodsplatter and roaring chanting sounded throughout the ruined temple, and the party wished to investigate. As they neared a room on the western side of the ruins, they heard worshipping chants in Common. As they opened the door, they found Varix the Channeler, a Bladeling Mage of great power. The party fought valiantly and got it dead, but not without casualties. A warrior met his demise in the hands of the mage, underestimating it's elemental wardings.

After the defeat of the being, the partys Mage found a scroll of bloody runes on a pedestal. After a quick decipher, it was clear, the scroll was of Tanar'i origin. As they we're investigating, sounds of battle we're heard their Dwarven Paladin from the Eastern Corridor. They fought their way and found a Hezrou, killing Goblins with demonic might. The Hezrou, annoyed of being summoned sensed a power in the party Mage and parlayed into getting Unsummoned. The Wizard agreed, but for exchange she was to be given an artifact from the lower planes. The paladin clearly disagreed, but did nothing to stop it from happening, while the party's two-handed sword wielding Thief tried to convince him otherwise. The Hezrou was more than glad to conjure up a relic of the Hells for the Wizard in exchange for a proper unsummoning.

The ritual was done by the mage, leaving her quite exhausted. The amulet was all that was left of the Hezrou, whom was unsummoned with a ritual, using his name, Mohg'zah'goth. After the ordeal the party started heading out, alerting a few Goblin Patrols on the way out. Outside the party felt too exhausted to go on, so for some reason they decided to rest right in front of the Goblin lair. The decision wasn't really smart, as they we're ambushed by a party of goblins in the middle of their rest. Almost dying, they prevailed and headed towards to Beregost, to raise their fallen fellow and the enjoy ale, to contemplate on the adventure they just experienced.

The mage though.. Still holds the scroll in her possession..
