Re: The Amn-Gate War (1347 DR)
[ LION'S WAY: REFUGEE CAMP, DAY 1 ]
The Order of the Silver Rose has set up a refugee camp and triage center north of Beregost -- upon the Lion's Way. There they and dozens of tireless volunteers, including knights of the Order of the Radiant Heart, have been providing medical care and security to the displaced refugees of Beregost and its environs, and to the Flaming Fist and their auxiliary forces.
After receiving care, refugees are sent further north to the Friendly Arm Inn, where Bentley Mirrorshade is receiving them as per an agreement with Scarlett Willow and Julindra Meynolds.

[ GULLYKIN, DAY 1 ]
Elven defenders stand watch on the Gullykin cliff when they noticed a man in the canyon below. They observe silently as two others joined him. The scouts are alerted when an elf, unaware of what was happening below, calls out a greeting, spooking the spies below. As the scouts fled, one of them was injured with an arrow, at which point another of the scouts dispatched him with a clean cut to the neck.
The elves found out that the Amnian army intends to use the Gullykin route across the Firewine River to outflank the Flaming Fist position. A contingent of Amnian soldiers is less than a day's march away.
Already they have fought off a vanguard war party. But the worst is yet to come ...

[ CLOUDPEAK FOOTHILLS; NIGHT, DAY 2 ]
Gilberto Gerrerro's renowned's tactitian, Arturo Beninio, is found dead in his quarters. Rumors spread quickly about this death on the sword's coast, raising the Flaming Fist's moral. Not much is head about the assassins.
Gerrerro, furious, moves north with massive troops soon after, which raises back the Amnish's moral.
"We will not let these Baldurans think they stand a chance against us! Show them no mercy on the battlefield, soldiers!"

Re: The Amn-Gate War (1347 DR)
((This was right before the above events, but Passiflora is a no-good time traveller.))
[ UNDERMINING AUTHORITY; DUSK, DAY 1 ]
Fist officers had travelled to Gullykin to request assistance from the elven volunteers. Three showed up: the mage Bre'teas Go'qu, and the priests Silias Ry'ena and Baelather Konian. Despite taking elven years to get there, they had eventually accompanied the Flaming Fist Scout Remi deep within the abandoned mines. They investigated the tunnels the Amnish were creating, and learned of a plot to blow up a large Fist encampment directly from underground.
Baelather, thinking fast, sent a sending to the officer who originally send them on the mission, warning him to move the camp, quickly. Afterwards the two priests saved everyone unconscious and even the captured Remi, and the two ushered everyone out of the caves. After an explosion where the Fist camp used to be, the two elves who reported back and brought everyone alive and accounted for are reported as heroes.
[ GULLYKIN; DUSK, DAY 1 ]
The Amnish army did indeed intend to use Gullykin to outflank the Fist position, and sent in a massive push to try to take it. In the beginning the elves were able to hold, dispatching the waves after waves of soldiers that tried to take the cliff. After awhile, Amnish champions joined in the frey when elven spells were exhausted: two Golden Legionnares, and they broke the elven line. The fighting was thrust into Gullykin's very walls, the hin losing folk as quickly as the elves were. Then Doron Amar's Evereskan Rangers arrived, driving the first push back.
As the elves tended to the wounded and set the fallen aside, the rangers scouting out ahead told the line that three cowled wizards were spotted amongst the new wave marching towards them. Vanira Talamora ordered her archers to aim at the wizards were they spotted, and once again, battle was joined. Waiting once again until the elves have exhausted their spells, the cowled wizards marched in the back of their army, and once have spotted the line, unleashed devestating spells. Vampiric feasts and balrogs were reported to have been casted repeatedly, and though Vanira had ordered the archers to shoot them down, the wizards were just as quick at paralyzing the Evereskan line. Eventually though, Gullykin's defenders prevailed, and with one more push Amn might have been able to take it, but the casualties they suffered did not seem worth it without a new strategy.

[ Flaming Fist Encampment, LATE EVENING, DAY 1 ]
A patrol consisting of freelance mercenaries stumbled upon the evidence that there might be an Amnish infiltrator within the encampment, plotting to poison the food supplies. The party had hurried back just in time to catch the agent, who managed to poison the supplies already. The agent was later executed by Commander Scar, personally. The supplies had been disposed of, since no priest could say for sure whether the poison had been neutralised or not.
[ Flaming Fist Encampment, MORNING, DAY 2 ]
Hurriedly, Friendly Arm Inn's garrison had put together a caravan which, with the help of many adventurers, had been able to reach Beregost in record time. The caravan had provided food for the exhausted army for at least one more day.

[ Smash And Grab, MORNING, DAY 2 ]
A supply line was flanked and overtaken by Amnish patrols, and so a few men and officers stood their ground while sending their scout Tedd to find help. He found it in the Lion's Way, and to his relief he saw the one known as Kald Blake, though he did not address him intentionally, not knowing if it is really the famous paladin. Kald and his quiet elven friend were joined by a bald female red wizard, an illusionist who called herself Tahlia Coppertell, and an indecently dressed gray-masked woman who introduced herself as Victoria.
They outflanked the flanking Amnish, who at this point had surrounded the Fist men and were in the process of cutting them down. With terrific vengeance and furious anger though, the Fist men were merely extremely wounded rather than fully dead by the time the last of the Amnish flank team were cut down. The group heard warhorns in the distance and, seeing how most of the party decided running was the best choice, Tahlia threw a fireball into the supplies and they quickly made their way out of the forest with just their horses.

[ BEREGOST, TEMPLE; DAY 2 ]
A priest of Lathander hire heroes on the tradeway to retrieve "The Morning Light" a powerfull artefact hidden in the basement of the temple in Beregost. A necromancer who had found his way there was using the corpses of the fallen to raise an army in the crypts.
The heroes cleansed the place, and managed to take the relic away from the battlefield.
Since that day, these names are known by most Lathenderites of Beregost.

[ NORTH OF BEREGOST; DAY 1 ]
The wizard Wolfrayne uncovers an Amnian spy who was working under the pretense of helping refugees escape. Many adventurers bear witness to Wolfrayne's method of dealing with spies: disintegrating them.
Wolfrayne also destroyed a teleportation circle, believing it to be a security risk and a possible invasion route for the Amnian army.

[ GULLYKIN, DAY 2 ]
The Battle of Gullykin occurs.
Two Amnian companies attack Gullykin, hoping to push through the defenses there and establish a route around the Flaming Fist camp north of Beregost.
The first company, commanded by Captain Alphonse Entrado, is routed by the Gullykin Defense Force. The first company's catapults are disabled. Captain Entrado is killed in the fighting.
Meanwhile, the second company, commanded by Captain Samuel Horenze, takes Gullykin while the majority of the defense force is away.
The defense force returns and attempts to liberate Gullykin. The fighting is intense with many casaulties on both sides, but Gullykin is eventually retaken. Captain Horenze is killed in the fighting.
The victory is a Pyrrhic victory, however, as Gullykin is very badly damaged in the fighting and many on both sides of the fighting have died.

[ THE CHIONTHAR RIVER, DAY 2 ]
The army of the Lord's Alliance reaches the Chionthar River. They spend the next day ferrying across the river. Their destination is Beregost.
[ BEREGOST, DAY 2 ]
Upon hearing of the Lord's Alliance's approach, the Amnians withdraw from all of their outposts and bases and regroup in Beregost. They are obviously reinforcing their position, and readying for an attack.
The regrouping takes the Amnians most of the next day. During this time, things are quiet.

Mourene, still recovering from her injuries, hires scouts to find out additional information. They return with speculations, at best, that Amnish High Command is within the walls of Beregost.

Things look grim and eeriely quiet on this chilly eve.

Re: The Amn-Gate War (1347 DR)
[ BEREGOST PEACE TALKS: DAY 4 ]
Talk is slow, and the Baldurian high command and Amnian generals continue to clash over details. In many ways, the war at the negotiating table is even more treacherous than the bloody battles the negotiations are trying to end.
During the fourth day of talks, word arrives from the south that civil war has erupted in the Kingdom of Tethyr, Amn's southern neighbor. The royal family has been executed and the Tethyrian countryside has been turned into a chaotic war zone.
The Tethyr situation will later be known to historians as the "Ten Black Days of Eleint," and the Tethyrian Interregnum. But right now it is only seen as a serious problem. Both sides realize that the Amnian army will be needed in the south to protect Amn's own borders against the chaotic happenings in Tethyr.
Baldur's Gate is trying to use this situation to their own advantage, stalling the talks in an effort to get Amn to lessen their own concession demands ...
(( The Tethyrian Interregnum has officially begun in Tethyr. To learn more, see this link: http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/T ... nterregnum ))
