Personality Profile:
Like all Shield Dwarves, Grux is cynical and suspicious especially of strangers. He dislikes anyone who is dishonourable, and is a member of or related to beings that are traditional enemies, such as half-orcs and tieflings. Grux is reliable, honourable, and judges others based on their actions, even overcoming his initial prejudice towards their race. He is serious and doesn't joke as often as he should, though he has a sense of humour and does laugh.

Strong and hardy, as most Dwarves. He is strong-willed for a fighter, and not easily overcome by poison and sickness.

He has a habit of scowling at strangers and scratching, stroking, or tugging on his beard while thinking or considering something. Bright lights bother him, especially in the dark after his eyes have adjusted to it.

Weapon of Choice:
Longsword. The weapons is uncommon, but not unusual for a dwarf to use. Many shield dwarves have taken to nearly any weapon that humans use.
Background:
Grux was born and lived in Mithral Hall in the Silver Marches for most of his life. The loss of territory and reduction of his race through the goblin wars has affected him. Like many Shields he has a grim view of the future. He left his home to see the world and get a better sense of life and the world outside of a Dwarven stronghold. The Sword Coast region around Baldur's Gate is his most recent stop after traveling through human lands, such as Cormyr on the way.
Goals:
To learn about the world, make a small fortune, and mostly to sharpen his fighting skill so he may be use to his clan and future generations of dwarves. He plans to return to Mithral Hall after his time on the Sword Coast.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
Grux is tall for a dwarf, but still not as tall as some shield dwarves. He isn't a loud-mouthed drunkard that spits. He distrusts most mages, but does not hate them outright. He has a respectable view of humans and elves.
