Background: You can imagin the supprise of Dains parents when he was born. On that night no one would have guessed that the Silvertons would bare a Teifling child, dispite both being human. Dispite the protest of the Rest of the villagers, the couple raised Dain as best they could. Giving him an abundance of love and kindness, and teatching him to be so. At age 13 his mother died of illness, at 14 he joined the ranks of the village mallitia with his father. upon being inducted, he was given a saber taken from an Orc cheiftan, who had attempted to pillage the village and was struc down by his father. At 18 his father passed away, leaveing the house to Dain.

Without his parents to speak for him, and dispite his kind nature and warm heartedness,
The villagers asked Dain to leave, beliving him to be a bad omen, and thinking he would bring misfortune if he stayed. After traveling a way, Dain found a small island kingdom in wich he would start his new life. Tho he tried to join the City guard, he was turned away, and told to try the holy order known at The Servants of the Light only to be turned down again. However, after spending months questing and working in the name of good, the Servants invited him to join thier order. After that, Dain partook of many adventures. In time the Servants renamed themselves The Order of the Silver Rose, by devine decree. He Opend an orphanage, housing and schooling the many orphans left by plagues and war. He bought a boat to start an exporting trade, to raise more money for the orphanage and hopefully, build a College for all children to learn from. However, disaster struck, leading to him and the orphans to somehow be trasnported deep, deep inside a forest. After mounths of treking, They were ambused by a band of theives, who dicided to take the children and sell them as slaves. To save the children, Dain offered his posetions in return for safety. It was fortunet that the Bandit Leader discided to accept the offer, taking The knights armor, sheild, and even his most prized posetion. The sword his father gave him.

Soon after, on the brink of starvation ; for Dain was only able to gather enought food from the wildes for the 49 children and one School maid; the group stumble upon a road, where they fallow to the city of Baldur's Gate. Here Dain is reunited with the others of his Order, and now begins the next chapter of his life.

Goals: "To be the mountain that holds back the sea." Dain Silverton practices the Art of protection as best he can, for he wishes to be able to protect and defend all he can. His worship of helm, and the teachings of his parents are what started his path, but the love of the children he has grown to love as his own has solidified it. He also hopes to help creat a better world by funding new schools and housing, to help the children of tomorow.

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
Dain's being born a tiefling is actualy from a resesive gean. 200 years ago, infernal blood was "introduced" into the Silverton blood line. It was kept a secret and the knowledge died long ago.

The Devil involved in the "coupling" was a Horned Devil.

The Silvertons are silver smiths by trade. However , Dains father chose a simpler life by moving to a small village away from his family.

Dain suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome and often wakes up from nightmares, covered in sweat. Once he and the intire orphanage was taken prisoner by cultist, who performed dark rituals on many of the children, turning them into demonic monster.

Dain has odd taste and often eats dishes that some would find to sour or bitter. His favorit is Lemon Roasted Eel.

Some time ago Dain was to be promoted from Knight Errant to Knight Wareant. However, the string of disasters which struck the Island ceased all cerimonies indefinetly. After Dain's arrival to Baldur's Gate, and spending some time recuperating, The Knight Generals discided it was put on hold far too long.

Tho the Order's meeting was interupted by the invading forces of the Fire Giants, the knighting ceremonies took place soon after. Tara Rahn was knighted from squirehood. Dain was Promoted to Knight Warrant, taking on the responsibilities of guiding the squires. "
