Background:
Born in a small village in Cormyr. The village was quite lonley with only a few contacts to others. Her mother (Sue) is human, but died at Laya's birth. Her father was a wildelf who suddenly, after her mother's death, left the village and didn't came back. No one knows if he died or if he is still out there. There is also her 5 years older human half brother (Sam, his father died three years ago during an hunting accident). She was raised by her human uncle (Paul). There was a dwarven smith living with the humans in the village. He taught her how to craft weapons and armors and how to use them. She was very fascinated of the katanas, so the dwarf made one for her as a gift. He told her also from his brothers of the Ironfaar clan and the Sword Coast itself. As she was old enough, she decided to travel there with a small caravan group of traveling merchants. But the caravan was waylaid by bandits, but with Laya's combat skills they were able to fight them back and the caravan arrived at its destination in one piece.

So, finally, her adventures at the Sword Coast began...

She was fighting bandits, wolves, lizards and gnolls in the temple of Baahl. Just before the FAI was built, she decided to return home. So she took the next caravn into that direction. But...
As she returned to the place of her home town, it was completly destroyed. No one was left there. Even no corpses. Only burned ruins. So she was looking around the area for any hint about what happened there. But there was no track except that destroyed village. Everything else around like the forests remained like they were before.
She went the long way to the neighboring settlement to ask if they know anything. But all they could report to her was a flash of light that was seen in the sky in the direction of her village. Some went to look there what happened, but only found the same as Laya did.

Not knowing what has happened to her village and family, she spent about half a year in the forests around her old village, to work with her sadness and maybe to find any clues about what happened, but there still couldn't find anything.

After that long time, she decided to return to the Sword Coast. On her first visit, she made there a few friends, that could help her and find a new place she could call "home". And maybe, one day, she will find out what happened to her old home.

Then the Amn-Gate war started. First, she wasn't eager to be involved, but then she heard reports, that the Amnian are bringing slavery to the lands. Something she couldn't accept. So she joined the forces of Doron Amar near Gullykin to fight the Golden Legion.

After the war ended finally in the peace talks, she decided to join the community of elves in Doron Amar and hoping being able to start a calm new live, trying to forget her past. But then she found herself in a war between dragons, which finally resulted into the revive of Tiamant, that she witnessed with worry.

But still she couldn't find the calm and happy life she was looking for. Soon after, balck orcs started to roam around in the Woods of Sharp Teeth, threatening Doron Amar. With sadness she witness that this threat of the orcs finally lead to a split within her community. Many of her friends were among those, that decided to leave the village and founded En Dharasha Everae. She was asked to come with them, but she couldn't. She has once lost her home when she wasn't there, and she can't let it happen again.

The siege of Doron Amar by the black orcs followed, that she and the remaining forces inside Doron were able to withstand, and with the help of their allies they were even able to force the orcs back. Sadly, they turned northwards to Baldur's Gate, while most forces of them were settled near Doron. So she went with the other forces of the allies north, making the mistake to leave her village unprotected. The Zentharim, which seemed to have significant influence into the Black Orc War, attacked the now poorly protected village. Luckyly, and with the help with the wizards' teleport ability, they were able to free her village from the intruders before it was totally destroyed. This was another hard lesson for her and from now on she will think twice before she will leave the defenses of the village weak.

That's also why she didn't support to help Triel, that was now under the siege of the Black Orcs. She was afraid anaother attack against the now weakened Doron would happen as soon as their miltary forces move out again.

After the war with the orcs ended, some more quiet time followed, temporarly. Then she had the luck to be kidnapped by the Hellstorm crew for a ransom. She was first kept at the Sea Wolf, then inside the Temple of Auril for the exchange. That why she now has a special hatred for the Hellstorms and Aurilites.

And her adventures still continue...

Goals:
  • Wants Doron Amar to be a place of peace and harmony
  • Creating the best cookie one can ever taste
  • Improving her weapon/armor crafting skills to become maybe a master in it one day, even while she is unable to create any magical runes during the crafting
  • Protection of Doron Amar
Misc Facts:
  • She only fights if she has to. Tries to avoid conflicts if possible
  • Has her own moral codex. Treachery and backstabbing aren't her profession, and for her anything deserves a chance, no matter about the race. But according to her experiences, she has great suspiciousness against orcs, drow, and Aurilites
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas:
  • The destruction of her hometown is quite open. If there is a chance to find out what happened there, she will do it
  • Her father, her brother or other former citizens of her old home could play a role in any future events, depending on how the destruction of her former home can be involved into future plots
  • Her father was know to be quite shy towards non-elves, with the exception of her mother. Most knowledge about him went lost with his depature and her mother's death
