Basic Information
Name: Alistair de Lioncourt
Alias(es): Alistair the Bloody, Alistair the Red
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 32
Alignment: Chaotic Evil (sort of)
Deity: ??
Profession: Con-man, lover, actor, trickster, Assassin, Sellsword
Languages: Common, Elven, Luskan
Associates: His wife Vicala and others who shall not be named.
Enemies: Too many to list.

Physical Information
Height: 6' 1" / 1.85m
Weight: 170 lbs/85kg
Body build: Athletic
Hair: Dark Red
Eyes: Emerald Green
Skin: Tanned

Personality:

Cocky and charming is usually the first two words that pop up in the minds of people who meets him. He seems to be rather friendly and well-mannered, but others often feel there's a much darker side to him. A side they really don't want to get to know.

His sense of self-preservation is near-legendary, giving him a questionable reputation even among those who believe to be his friends and family. If his life is threatened, he will find a way to get out of the situation... by any means necessary.

Alistair is an astute individual, who can pull resources out of nothing and manipulate other people to do exactly what he wants them to do. Additionally, he's always having one or several back-up plans in case things go awry. All this has made it incredible difficult for any law-enforcing person in the region to catch him. And even if they did, who says it wasn't part of one of his schemes?

Personal History

Not much is known. He's believed to be from Luskan, though he speaks with no accent.

It's widely known that Alistair has connections to the Underworld of the Sword Coast, who often makes use of his particular set of skills.

He is in a strange relationship with his former friend's best friend, Vicala, who he has two twin-sons with. Though not always happy, they do seem to have a strong bond.

Other

His father has been around the coast and had a lover in each city, town and village along the way. It's quite possible that he has several half-siblings.

So I woke up next to Vicala today, watching her for a few moments before leaving her. I've lusted her for a long time now and she's been playing hard-to-get for reasons I don't know and probably never will know. Anyway, I feel like something is not right. No, that is not correct. It feels right in a wrong way.

Tamina asked me the other day when Vicala and I would marry. I told her neither of us are made for marriage, which I believe is the truth... even if it somehow makes me sad. Could I marry and live with her for the rest of the life? I don't know. I don't think so. Nor would I believe she would too. Or does she? I've been raised around wh0res and believed I knew the female mind, yet I'm not sure anymore. She confuses me.

In any case, I have to do something about that Dabak. The stinking orc would probably have raped her if I hadn't bursted into the room with Black. I have to figure out a way to get rid of him. Can't trust Black with the task, since they're all brothers or something. Maybe get Jinni to remove him. Maybe he'll forget that I'm sleeping with his dream-woman for a second and help me with it? I believe he's reasonable enough. Or should I do it myself? He is, after all, just an orc and not a real person. Bah, I'll have to think about this a bit more, maybe talk with Tamina about it.

So we've been at it for a while now, Vicala and I. Our lust for each other hasn't ceased at all, in fact it's getting stronger, unbearably so at times. I wake up each morning with her lovely body entangled with mine. Is this how serious relationships work?

On another note; I have been working hard to help Ratsy with our 'thing'. I still think he wants to stab me in the back after I stole Vicala right in front of him, but besides that I trust him enough to deal with this. I'll have to send Morticia and uhm what's his name now... Cole? with him when we attempt to get what's our back.

Kalma seems awfully distant these days. He and Tamina seems to have broken up, at least for the moment. Her infuriation with that other tiefling girl Krisaga goes on his nerves. He ordered me to keep away from her, but he should know by now that I don't follow orders I don't want to follow. Hmm... maybe he knows that? That would certainly explain why I get this feeling that that necromancer Morticia has her eyes on me every time I look away. Sure, she may find me attractive, and who would not, but there's something about her that I don't like. I also wonder what the Hells she's doing in her laboratory. She also asked me what I thought about mages and why I loath them. I gave her the truth, well half of it anyway.

It's rather funny that many of the crew members look at me and sees an unfocused womaniser that lets his libido guide him through life. While not completely untrue, it's not my true self. I see their ignorance as a compliment. I have to be careful around certain people though.

A halfling, think her name was Flora, pretty little thing, was first picking a fight with Bjorn and then later trying to pry information out of me about an elf-woman. I gave her nothing.

Recently we had caught a cute assassin on the ship. She had killed a half-orc, whose name I've forgot. By Captain's orders I searched her throughout and I do mean throughout. I didn't found anything except her lovely curves, obviously. She later escaped.

So Bjorn has a daughter, eh? I've seen her. She's pretty, even with an eye-patch and her being rather tall like her father. She has much of his personality too, but she just seems more... lethal. I poked a little fun of Bjorn's family tragedy and he challenged me for a duel. To the death nonetheless. It got cancelled though. Think he chickened out, I think, as we settled it rather peacefully in his room. I had our new Cabin Boy Laurens as back-up in one of the room... just in case the Mighty Bjorn decided to carry through with it. Laurens is more than they think he is. I'll be sure to keep an eye out on him. He can become an useful ally for me one day.

Haven't seen much of Dovey, Shags and Jinni lately. The latter is probably busy with our 'thing', while I don't know with the other two. Think Shags is just roaming the coast looking for weird and disgusting recepies, while Dovey is searching 'excitement' again, wherever she can find it. She's a little strange for my taste.

/// And now to something completely different: Alistair got killed by Mystra after he pinched her magical butt and to quote him: "What a woman.."

Kalma is getting more and more unstable. One moment he's the good old cold-blooded Captain the crew needs and loves, next moment he's getting paranoid, believing everyone and everything are against him. He's probably believing the few voices in the crew who speak of me having ambitions of taking his place. While I do have ambitions, it has little to do with Kalma, the ship or the crew. But I will take drastic measures if Kalma continues on the path of insanity...

One such person who believes I'm aspiring to become Captain of the Sea Wolf is Bjorn. He has never been a smart guy, so I can almost forgive him for thinking so. Almost. Maybe I should sleep with his daughter and then remove him in the ensuring conflict? Hmm, have to think about it.

Morticia is still digging. She suspects me of having other plans than that of the crew... and that's true. Not really sure if she has the same line of thought as Bjorn, but I have to be careful around her. She's much smarter than Bjorn. Though she does seem to, well, show me some more affection than she used to. Maybe a trick, maybe my charming personality has finally won her over, I don't know. She did flirt with me the other day, if we can call it flirting. She's beautiful. Not beautiful like Vicala, but in a more classic way. I would gladly sleep with her, if the opportunity arises.

Little Dove has been less... let's say, she's been less forthcoming lately. Maybe she suspects something as well? Highly unlikely though as she's not the most sharp knife in the drawer... or is she just playing so, like I do? Hmm... I have to try win her over then.

Lilah I have no clue about. She just popped up one day and is now the lady of the Captain. For now I don't trust her, but maybe she can change my mind?

Tamina and Krisaga are apparently a couple. They both has mentioned marriage and children to me. I didn't quite follow, but Krisaga said something about her being able to get kids with Tamina... how that is possible is beyond me. Tamina is still avoiding my advances, but I see a light in the tunnel... I'll get her to bed me one day. Krisaga on the other hand, I've already done. Her tail is certainly an interesting addition, but she should work more on her stamina.. I wasn't tired at all after those many hours.

Speaking of Krisaga... Vicala got all mad at me after she heard about it. While we have an open relationship and can bed whoever we want... she draws the line with Krisaga. Not sure what she has done to Vic, but it's clear she doesn't like her. She even almost broke up with me about it. Luckily I persuaded her to do otherwise, to my own surprise.

I love the woman. I don't know why I feel so attached to her after so many years of seducing one woman after the other. Maybe it's because we're so alike? I don't know.

It was first when I got the news from Dovey that Vicala had been kidnapped, that I found myself loosing control. Every single part of me screamed in agony that I may have lost her. Luckily Kalma and Lilah found her. She was just roughed up a bit. The man who did it will suffer till he dies and then I will have Morticia trap his soul in a tormented body. Nobody hurts the woman I love and expects to get away with it.

We had our reunion in the woods close to Baldur's Gate, where she finally said the three words I've been waiting for. For some reason it brought peace to my mind and heart.

On other news, I've met a good selection of fine ladies. One of them is even noble! I'll have to work a bit with them, but they should all be easy prey, one even wrote me a letter about how much she desired me!

Met the Captain's newest conquest, Lilah, at the Lighthouse. She wanted me to ask her everything I wanted to know, and so I did. The answers were not all equally fulfilling, but for now she is not considered a threat against the Sea Wolf and its crew. So far the only drawback is that she's a mage. Sorceress though, but still a mage. I'll keep my eyes and ears on her.

I spied on Vicala. She was accompanied by Anden's wife Niyenne and they seemed to get along very well, from what I could see and hear. I followed them around, from Sundries to Maltz before they broke up. I later told her what I had done. I don't know why I did that... Lying is of no issue. I'm pretty good at it and could get away with it, had I given her a little lie. Yet I did not. I simply told her it. Obviously she wasn't too happy about it, but it worked out in the end. We made sweet love in my, no, our cabin. Yes, I did invite her to live with me on a more permanent basis. She has revealed a few things the other day, and I feel inclined to give her what she wants. I blame the influence she has on me. She's my greatest weakness... yet also my greatest strength and I cherish every moment with her... even though she loves playing cruel pranks on me. Love is a b!tch, heh.

Oh, about Niyenne. I was handed a love-letter from her the other day. I sent an answer back. I will see where this goes.

I don't trust Morticia completely, but I do think we have found a good balance between contempt and respect. That she has acquired Randall, the sweet cat she bought at the market, has certainly softened her a bit up. I will have to talk crew business with her soon. I had to do so anyway, but now I am sure she'll see my side of things better than before. She is, after all, very rational.

Tamina continues to elude the crew. Sometimes I think she doesn't actually like being part of our motley bunch. But I'm glad we can remain friends regardless of what she may think of the rest. I try to stay out of Krisaga's way though, per Vic's request, so it makes it difficult to treat our friendship.

Our dear little Dovey and I had a good long chat together the other day. I sense hostility behind the sweet smile of hers. Something that was not there just a month ago. It is a good thing I put someone on her, to gain her trust. I am not paranoid as Kalma is, but I do know how to be careful. It is what has kept me alive through so much for such a long time. If our Little Dove decides to betray, or be a threat in any other way, we will have the means to remove her, quietly and most importantly; cleanly. I just wish she will come to her senses though. Then things would be so much easier. Regardless, I have to speak with Kalma about her... her ambitions unsettles several vital members of the crew and we can't have such commotion within our group right now. Hopefully I find him in his old sany way this time.

We also gained a new recruit, Johan Longknife. He seems to be a fine man, based on his first impression; he give me a bottle of an expensive Luskan Rum made several years ago. Very kind of him and highly appreciated. As with all pirates, trust is to be earned and we shall see how true his heart is. I sent him out with Grim, so he could learn the ropes... we do get things done differently on Sea Wolf, than among all the other crews.

Still no sign of Black, which is good. The less we hear of him, the better for the crew. He creates unnecessary attention and ruins sailor morale, even though his job is the opposite.

Elycia is slowly giving in. The upcoming editor of the Gazette finds me nigh irresistible. Unfortunately work got into the way or I would have finally cracked her shell and we would have made the Friendly Arm Inn haunted for a night.

Things have been crazy lately. Kalma managed to get himself captured again. I wasn't present when it happened, but Vicala and Tamina were and said he was dead. Not only that, Tamina claimed that his last wish was for her to take command over the crew. To my great surprise, and dismay, Vicala supported her claim. Obviously that didn't sit well with me and I left with a group of loyal men. I later heard that both Vane and Morticia joined, with Vane even putting a price on Tamina's head.

I couldn't believe that he would pick Tamina over me. Hells, even Bjorn would be a better choice. I have no ill feelings towards Tamina, but her leadership abilities are... limited, to say the least. She can't even sail a ship.

The crew began to split, those support Tamina and those supporting me, with a few remaining neutral. We met at the Goblet and came up with a temporary solution; Thel would become interim captain for the time being until we had asked the ghost of Kalma why he had chosen Tamina over me or any of the other capable men.

The thing was though... Kalma wasn't dead. We learned by word that he was very much alive, sitting in the Fist Prison until the day of his execution. With Baldur's Gate being so well-defended we had no other option than to wait. Even at the point of him dangling from the rope, we had no chance to free him. Bjorn, Grim and I decided to try resurrect him, but the cursed Duke Eltan ordered his corpse burned beyond recognition. After some discussing back and forth, we figured that we may use a hair or fingernail to bring him back to life.

After searching his cabin (and knocking down his door in the process), Grim found a hair of his in his bed. We needed a diamond to full-end the ritual, so we also had to kick in the vault door. Something that was significantly harder than said. Luckily Quartermaster Swanson had an extra key and fetched a diamond for us. Now having everything we needed, I let Bjorn prepare for the ritual... but not before sending Vicala a message. I wanted her to be here when the Captain was revived.

And he was indeed revived. As the rain poured down from the sky, washing his naked body clean, he opened his eyes. He was a bit confused and disorientated, but it was him alright. Everybody were happy... except the one who I had expected to be most happy about his return.

Vicala has been strange lately. She began blaming me for everything that had happened; Kalma's death, the split in the crew and even claimed I was just being powerhungry. She said she was empty inside and the Vicala I knew was dead... which meant the love we had too. Of course I refuse to believe that. You just don't stop feeling from one moment to another... unless Kalma was right. He did sense something wrong with her and her sword and put Morticia on the case. We still don't know what is happening, but it's clear for everyone who knows her that she's far from herself now.

We also were told by Kalma how he ended up being caught. As we told him about Tamina and her claim, he assured us that this was not his wish. If it was not his wish... then Tamina lied? And why would Vicala, Kalma's oldest still-living friend, support such a claim?

Right now my heart is broken, my mind is tired and my spirit is dulled. Things needs to be fixed or else...

Right now I regret helping bringing that doofus back to life. Apparently I'm demoted because I insulted his favourite drink...? Kalma's antics and erratic decisions is slowly starting to irritate me. And apparently I'm not the only one who thinks so either. I consider him my friend, but this is getting silly.

Fair enough, I was drunk and should probably have been my usual diplomatic self... but I had quite frankly other more important things to brood about. Ironically, the incident with Kalma gave me opportunity to speak things out with Vicala. Ever since Kalma died, she has been... distant and emotionally detached towards me. When I finally found out why, I found myself divided. We'll work it out, somehow.

Also have to think about my situation with Kalma and my position within the crew. Vicala pleaded me to apologize to him, reassuring me he'll reinstate me as First Mate right away. But I'm not really sure I want to any more..

Well, we'll see. Things change quickly in Roaringshore.

Kalma's instability is apparent to everyone, though right now it's not so bad. He's being ambitious and I see nothing wrong with that, in fact, I've hoped he'll be... the time is rife for it, now with the war brewing and the seas filled with opportunities.

We were at the cursed undead tomb again. Didn't go better than last time. We almost died in there were it not for my beloved Vicala's heroic rescue. Unfortunately we didn't all get out completely unscathed...

I don't get Morticia's morbid fascination of those liches. They're wicked and dangerous. One thing is a simple zombie or skeleton, how bad smelling they may be, another is an undead that has retained its brain functions after crossing over to a life without life. Anyway, I'm sure she'll be glad to have another mage to discuss mage-stuff with, as we've recruited an assistant for her. Hopefully she won't ignite him or something...

Vicala and I are back together for good, it seems. Though she did drop a bomb, that caught me off-guard even though I've been warned beforehand. I'm not really sure if what we have chosen is the right thing or not, but she seems content with it. I've told her, that if she changed her mind, I would support her... and I intent on keeping that promise, even if it frightens me more than a vault filled with creatures wanting to soak every drop of life out of me.

The day arrived. He left as he said he would. To gather more ships under his banner, he said. I don't think he'll be successful, but at least he left me in charge of the Sea Wolf and its crew. He was a friend. He still is a friend. But I have a different vision than he has. One more realistic, more daring... more profitable.

I will assign Morticia as my second in command until she dies or someone better comes along. I don't trust her one bit, but this is beyond the issue of personal trust. I need someone who is reliable and isn't drowning the brain in alcohol all the time. As the new captain of the Sea Wolf, some additional changes will happen over the next few weeks. Some will like them, others will not. But the winds of change are here and we cannot sail against them and hope we'll survive. It's adapt or die... and I intend to stay alive as long as possible.

Vicala decided to stay with me instead of following Kalma. I need her around or else my heart will fail me. I will though, send her away once it's time and she'll return to my side when it's over. It must be so. The priest she visited warned me that there may be unforeseen side-effects of those mushrooms she's been using for years. She promised me to keep away from them until it's over. I hope for the best, but I fear the worst. Time will tell.

I made Tamina spill her feelings for Kalma. Both as a favour for Tamina, who has been unhappy with how things went after they broke up, but also to keep Kalma emotionally occupied for a while. Perhaps I'll send her to him once in a while with information and what not. We'll see.

A new age is upon us. I will succeed where he failed. The Sea Wolf will be the Terror of the Sword Coast and we will rule the waves until we are all dead or worse.

War is upon us. We'll be doing our part... at least as long as it's still fun and profitable, haha. And it certainly is. We received good coin for our services today and a bit extra from looting the corpses, as well as other spoils of war that we can use in our future endeavours.

Besides that, I have been cured of my undeath affliction, removing its rot from my heart. Morticia struck a deal with the lich and let me off the hook. I wonder what exactly she offered for my life? Probably nothing good.

But I don't feel the same any more. Something is different inside me, even if Bones and the healers say differently. I feel... less me. Something is gone and I don't exactly know what, but it has left a hole deep inside, metaphorically speaking. Or perhaps it's true what they say... the mantle of captaincy of the Sea Wolf changes men? Am I destined to slowly become mad like Kalma? Or is there something else at work here? I don't know..

Vane apparently left the crew and has been heard trying to recruit sailors for another crew, under the banner of Hellstorm. Ridiculous. Regardless of his intention, I consider this desertion and he'll be dealt with, one way or another. He'll be better off just giving up his futile plan and receive the appropriate punishment for desertion, or run away with his so-called gold reserves and hope to never run into us again.

The days grow longer. I find myself standing at the rear of the Sea Wolf and just staring into the horizon as if I'm trying to find answers there. I'm kidding myself, of course. There are no answers, just more questions.

Vicala has been away for a good while now. Her presence at my side is dearly missed. Her sudden 'disappearance' has not gone unnoticed. Several of the others, mainly Tamina and Morticia has wondered where she is. Only thing I can tell them is that she's on a mission and won't be back before she's done. I'm not sure how long they'll believe that, but it doesn't matter. The rumours will stop once she's back where she belongs.

I risked my neck visiting her. She's still her good old self.. mostly. I spent a few days with her at our little secret place and it brightened my mood a little. I feel hollow when she's not around to fill me with laughs and pleasant thoughts. I know that many wonder what makes her so special and I could tell them many things.. but they would never really understand. What we have is meant for us only. She knows how I think and feel. Or I hope so.

We've been here for a while now, Vicala and I. We've carved a temporary home here in our little hideout, while we're waiting for it to happen. It's weird, really. We're the last persons I'd expect to follow this path, yet we do... and it's both intimidating and, to my own surprise, fulfilling. As if I have a purpose in life, other than terrorize the waves. I'm not really sure how she's taking it, but she seems... serene, completely peaceful with the situation. Or perhaps she's just a better actor than I thought? Regardless, I've decided to stay with her until she's ready to return. I think it's for the best right now... and it gives us some time to get 'reacquainted' again.

I sent Tamina a letter explaining my sudden disappearance. I gave her the mantle of captaincy until I, no we, return. I'm sure Morticia is wondering why I choose Tamina over her, but she's a smart girl, she'll figure it out and ultimately agree with me. Just hope Tami doesn't get too attached to her role as temporary captain of the Sea Wolf. That would be messy.

The self-imposed exile gave me enough time to contemplate on things, and my path seems clearer now than ever. I know my destiny now.
