Mielikki is NG and allows a LG cleric or other follower so would support a paladin altough there is no order bound to that deity.

It may be possible. When you speak of more known paladin deities like Torm, Tyr and Helm, you completely forget about the others deities.
When someone calls you elitist, he automatically admits that your RP is superior to his.

I know that there are such things as paladins of Chauntea.

http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/C ... Worshipers
In Kara-Tur she is worshiped as Chantea but only by an underground sect of paladins who are viewed with distrust to outright hostility depending on the country they are found in.
Considering this, I do not see why there could not be paladins of Mielikki.

Also, Passiflora's link seems to confirm that paladins of Mielikki are indeed possible.

Sending, How exactly does it work? With the long casting time, i'd like to RP out the casting, but i don't want to mislead people. Does it work like scrying or?

The description in PnP simply states that it takes 10 minutes with verbal and somatic components as well as a piece of fine copper wire. As far as how to RP the casting, I'd say go along with whatever your imagination deems fitting so long as it's within the casting parameters.
On a side note, Sending isn't a spell one can pick up in the game. So I'd suggest you bring up the notion of using the spell to those you plan on having involved before you actually cast it so that everyone's on the same page. And if prudence dictates, get DM approval for casting such a spell (such as during an event and such).

I think it is now mechanically in game too... but I am not exactly sure how it works to be honest.

Interesting, I didn't know that. Oh well, I guess you can scratch my little side note then.

The little side note is still useful ;)

But I too am curious about the spell in game... I got a sending on a character recently. Found it neat, but now I wonder... how -does- it work? Is there a time frame similar to source? What is the best way to emote casting, or does the mechanics do that too?

You're 'chanting' for a few minutes and then sends the tell of. Your character have your hands over the head while you do it. After the timer is up, you send the 'tell' off... which everyone nearby can listen in to, btw.

As for the mechanism

Mealir Ostirel message: Greeting captain! i've the potions ready nice and dandy! Going to transport them to the ship

A tell is sent to Mealir Ostirel with notes of it being an IC tell (sending)

he then types /r Message

As for having the arms over the head, Not true for divine spellcasting (at least Riappi), that way it has the same anims as the divine light spell.

As for RPing it, I'll suppose the character talks into the copper-wire.

I've been wondering something and when I used the search function I found this, so I thought I would just ask here.
I want to roll a cleric and looked through the according threads about it, now there is only one thing left that I couldn't figure out.

The page that is suggested in this thread lists LG, NG, CG, LN, N, CN as "WOR. ALIGN.:" for Mielikki, yet at character creation I can only choose that deity when my toon is of any good alignment. Does that mean I cannot make a neutral cleric of Mielikki at all?

Yup, specifically made that way so you won't need to reveal your message.

For all intents and purposes roleplay it as talking or whispering into the copper wire that is a material component for the spell. You have a window of several minutes, up to 5 if I remember correctly, to type whatever you want to 'Send' to the subject of the spell.

If you can get a scroll of Sending you will notice it has no casting time, that is quite usefull in events and such
