Giant mad props to Mia, whom in the last year has hosted more shows than a half orc can count on his fingers and toes. You've done a wonderfull job, and I'm sure that handing the keys after so long must have brought some emotion on your side.Mia Desdemona wrote:At the end of the last Open Stage Night Mia handed over her key and songbook to Herran Hymm, announcing that he was the new Director of the White Mask Theatre.
You can be sure that all the NPCs I've controlled in the past would have cheered your name in the streets of Baldur's Gate at your last show.
Herran, I don't know you as I've left before you came in, but you have big shoes to wear! (And by that, I don't mean that Mia had big feet, it's.. huh.. an expression!

I have to second this. I think very few characters have so singularly brought so much life and RP to Baldur's Gate. "Director sans Stagefeet" was a travesty of a moniker, as she grew stagefeet that every performer should aspire to, and the year of her reign has surely been a golden age of the theatre.Randall wrote:Giant mad props to Mia, whom in the last year has hosted more shows than a half orc can count on his fingers and toes. I don't envy Herran following this act, but he is a superb RPer and I know he will do a terrific job continuing a tradition that is unique and iconic to our server.

Re: Thread of infinite appreciation!!
Yes, that was an awesome event in the Underdark but pretty mysterious for the most part, though i know it had to do with an Alhoon Lich. After work and after I coach in the afternoon, i plan on writing a Post in Gloura's Wings in character over ISrae'anna's party's confrontation, imprisonment, and eventual rescue from the Goblin Horde during the Battle of Stonespear. It was a great event to be a part of though i have a few criticisms:
Add some sort of boss after we were elaborated/at the end of the Event for the Goblin Cave's section. Doesn't even really have to be a boss, but some obvious sign we took out the Commanding forces of the Goblin horde. Least important, but i feel I must post because there were many wondering about this, but i believe DMs should have award EXP more often and varying depending your involvement to the Event. However, giving everyone some EXP for being proactive, would help solidify the whole experience. All and all , some of the best RP i've had on the server all in the midst of an epic battle!

Re: Thread of infinite appreciation!!
Normally xp is rewarded after the events.
I believe there was a boss in the end-game but time ran short and it had to be continued at a later time that none of the original party members could make. Hopefully, there will be more events that will have some finality towards it as the conflict in the UD is pushed to new heights.
I would suggest that players start sharpening up their strategies if they are going to be a contributor in any upcoming battle in the furture. First thing to do, is "Know your Role" this means class wise what you are good at and RP wise what your character would do with his/her skills in a situation of direct conflict.
A lot of disorganization will not help in events where there might be heavy combat. I have seen DM's actually reverse the "pull/aggro" technique on players to much amusement. A technique normally reserved to players trying to cheat the AI of NPC spawns LOL.
Chances are, if something is running away after giving your character a bit of damage "it's a trap"! Breaking off from your group to investigate on your own might not be the smartest course of action then again, looking at the wisdom stats of chars in this PW ... Yeah, not so surprised
Stay in there, learn the lore if you can. Read and scour the forums for rumor or info on the current events if your time allows. We have some great peices of creative writing that explain the events and those involved in the UD metaplots. Ask others IC and IG about the going-ons and hopefully you will find a niche for your character.

Appreciate the event Void, and the other UD Players in it. I had a lot of fun, and that in itself was reward enough for me for some continual rp afterwards. As for tactics, well we can't all be winners
And "It's a trap!" was said multiple times but a drow who claims to be selfish lol

Thanks to Nicimus/Terren Rift for letting me mug him and knock him out in PvP after pretending to help his nearly dead PC out of the abandoned mines.

I don't think it gets said often enough, but I would like to thank Ivan for creating the tools to make the job of DMing just that much easier. Honestly... the things he gave us are just amazing.
