Will the DMs please make a ruling or some kind of guidance on the coins issue. ALL these converstions and copper, or silver, or gold, or going into ALL the names of currency throughout the Land of Faerun is getting a bit overboard.. Its great for RP and all.. But for a game where bidding is done on forums, and the in game currency is stated as gold.. This seems to be causing breaks in people's emmersion and concentration on just having a fun time.
Would something like: If you use non gold currency please ensure that oyu list in paranthasees the gold value at all time. This would cut out ALOT of confusion i think. Is this at all possible?

Re: Coins
A ruling has already been given on the subject:
Subject: copper
A tell doesn't break immersion quite the same way as a Local Say even with parentheses in my opinion.
Subject: copper
If you're asking for the Staff to enforce what players should call it though, I doubt that's going to happen. Personally, if I get confused I'll just ask in a quick tell for the counterpart to clarify how much he/she means.TheVoid wrote:I guess we need a clear cut ruling on Currency.
As far as the copper issue goes. You can trade in copper, silver, platinum, smurfs... I don't really care but that coin icon that gives you a numerical value on your inventory sheet is GOLD. So if you are trading currency for purchases than you will have to pay the correct amount of the denominal form of currency that equals the value in gold.
For instance 100 gold = 1000 coppers, not 100 gold = 100 coppers.
Your character's networth is valued in gold on our PW and all the reporting tools that we have to track your character.
Until the staff approves of the gold = copper equivalency as rule, gold is gold and whatever is in your inventory no matter how ridiculous of an amount, is valid.

Re: Coins
This is the final word on the gold versus copper debate, and overwrites my previous ruling and all other DM statements on the matter, here and forever more. Inventory coins are gold.TheVoid wrote:I guess we need a clear cut ruling on Currency.

People can still use whatever denominations they like in RP, if that is their style, including in the Auction House forum. If you do not like it, then do not bid. It will always be to a seller's advantage to put the gold value in brackets, so as not to deter the people for whom currency conversions boggle the mind.
