Personality Profile:
General Health: Like many gnomes despite being grey haired he maintains his vigor and healthy constitution. He is also quite nimble and dexterous. In contrast to this however is a great lack of physical strength. Even for a member of a small race Nelwynn is weak, scarce able to move a pack of 40 pounds without being bogged down and exhausted. Fairly likeable he is also rather lacking in common sense.

Initial Alignment: Neutral. Nelwynn leans NE due not so much to any form of malice, but his own extreme greed, narcissism and sense of self-interest. On a rare occasion he can however suddenly perform an act of kindness when it suits him, especially toward his brother Delwynn who he usually treats rather poorly, but while he would never admit loves dearly.

Profession: Illusionist and “locksmith”

Habits/Hobbies: Nelwynn has a typical gnomish fascination for gadgets and explosions of all kind. In his case it is aimed more for traps, tricks, locks and other items that suit his larcenous mindset. He also has an extreme sense of greed in regard to gold and jewels, which he covets highly.

Languages: Common, Gnome, Animal, Elven, Dwarven (should have another but accidentally double selected elven at character creation)

Weapon of Choice: Magic. Generally relying on a dagger or similar light weapons due to his extremely limited strength Nelwynn relies on finesse over brute force in his weapon choices. He is also known to use a crossbow. By preference he prefers to sneak in behind foes and kill them unseen, having very little taste for any amount of hand to hand combat.

Background: Born several minutes before his twin brother Delwynn in the Sword Mountain gnomish mining town of Ieirithymbul, Nelwynn has spent most of his life with his twin.

While the brothers are fond of each other Nelwynn would never admit this and takes some delight in belittling and lording over his brother, who is far stronger and burlier, but also far less intelligent.

Due to this competition and Nelwynn’s delight in teasing his brother, as well as Nelwynn’s own larcenous mindset the two gnomes have found themselves in frequent trouble both before and since leaving home.

From the experiment where Nelwynn turned his brother a shade of purple (which was intentional though he never would admit that), to the need to flee the law in both Waterdeep and Neverwinter in their travels south to an unfortunate accident where the two tried to move their stubborn donkey up a mountain path and having used Bear’s Strength on his brother they accidentally pushed the poor beast off the cliff, the two had already cause some inadvertent trouble before arriving in Baldur’s Gate.

Since arriving they have been fined for their foolish behavior by the Fist on several occasions. Once when being told to pee before they set out Delwynn urinated in the middle of the Gate in front of the Fist. On another occasion Delywnn dropped a fire flask when checking his pockets at the campfire scorching many present. To prevent it happening again Nelwynn insisted Delwynn hand over any other flasks. Delwynn promptly toss over his acid flask, which Nel fumbled and again doused the poor folks nearby and of course brought over the Fist.

Goals: To show up his brother Delwynn, to become both rich and powerful, to have fun and not get arrested. To find some group, party or faction to rule as "Overgnome".

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: Due to their unintentional if frequent foolish actions the two are likely to get into any number of mix-ups and misunderstandings. Nelwynn’s thieving ways and lack of judgement doesn’t help matters. Tension arises at time between the two as Delwynn, while far less intelligent, is also a much kinder person.
