The WaveBreaker Part 2 (Tamina Lightstep)

The Hellstorm Crew was left in a bad way. The Ship's sails were ruined, Half of the Crew was dead or dragged down to the depths by the Mermaids that assaulted the ship. The Remaining Crew members sprang into action though. Krisaga and Vicala proceeded to work on repairing the Shredded sails. Others plotted the course. Tamina being First Mate went below decks to gather anyone left they could muster. She found the Crew's quarters woefully empty. Still there were a few around and she enlisted the help of the Cook and the Ship's Dwarven Smithy. Hearing her orders they scrambled up on Deck to Assist the remaining Crew members with getting the ship moving again. Tamina wasn't done though as she proceeded to go another Deck down into the Hold of the Ship.

There she eyed Birk and the Ghoul sitting in their prospective cages. She looked at the Empty eyed Ghoul and shuddered. 'Should kill that damned thing now that Morticia isn't around..' She thought to herself as her Gaze then fell on Birk. All Eleven foot tall, Six hundred and Thirty pounds of lean, mean, Yeti. She knew it was probably a Risk to let him out of the Cage as he really only listened to Kalma. But he Might be able to do some heavy lifting or in case of another attack, Smash whatever climbs aboard to pieces. It was an opportunity she couldn't pass up. She produced an Apple from her Satchel and it Seemingly caught Birk's interest. She decided then.

She Produced a Lockpick and set to work picking the lock. No one trusted her enough with Keys to anything apparently but that didn't bother her too much. She could work wonders on locks. Birk's intrest in what Tamina was doing grew and he seemed to know what she was up to. He raised his leg and caught her attention as she worked on the lock. A chain around his leg had him further bound in the cage. 'Most likely a secondary measure to keep him contained if his Cage door ever got open....' She thought to herself and then had the Brilliant Idea of using an Acid flask and pouring a few of the acidic drops onto the chain to eat through it. 'It's a Perfect Idea.'

The Crew must have been worried because Kris came down to investigate. She tried to Dissuade Tamina from opening the Cage but she had already popped the lock and was walking inside and getting ready to use the Acid at this point. They were interrupted as the Ship Lurched forward a moment and caused Birk to trip. Luckily not on Tamina, Krisaga stayed by the door keeping an eye on Tamina. She Dripped a few of the Acid drops on Birk's chain. He sat calmly and watched...or so it seemed. When the Chain had weakened and Tami was about to break it Birk suddenly Howled in excitement and Rushed out the Door.

Tamina barely got out of the way and was only brushed lightly as Birk slammed into his now unlocked cell door and rushed outside to enjoy his new found freedom. Unfortunately Birk's rush caught Krisaga off guard and the Door slammed into her knocking her unconcious briefly as Birk found himself contented to play with things in the Hold. It was then a man the Crew called Grim wandered below decks. Seeing Krisaga on the floor he made all kinds of lewd comments. "Grim, She's hurt, Just help get her to Irini." Tamina managed to shout as she tried desperately to get Birk from messing around in the hold. Eventually Birk got bored and Rushed up on Deck. Tamina and Grim took hold of Kris and brought her up on deck as well.

After initial concerns and yelling at Tamina for letting Birk up on deck as he started playing with one of the smaller Row boats. Krisaga was brought to Irini for treatment by the Cleric and Also Tami managed to Calm Birk down by feeding him Apples to which he Ate and essentially curled up on deck and went to sleep enjoying a full stomach and new found freedom, Luckily Vicala didn't have to use the makeshift Lasso she had made to try and Subdue Birk.

The Crew had arrived at their destination though, A Small Island sat off in the distance. The Crew sprang into action as Alistair and Tamina shouted Orders, The Sails were hoisted up, Anchor dropped, and Rowboat lowered over the side. After everything was in order the Crew entered the Rowboat and made their way to the beach. Upon hitting the Sand and taking a look around a Cove was spotted. Tamina and Grim were sent to check it out. Discovering the Cove wasn't very far in but a Hole with a ladder leading down into darkness was found. The Rest of the Crew caught up and they descended into the Darkness wary of what lay ahead of them.

Once in the bottom it appeared to be some kind of Old abandoned mine, Tamina once again took lead as her ability to detect traps was uncanny...except the first one and as luck would have it she stepped into it just as she was mentioning how good she was with traps, Again. With her Quick reflexes and agility she managed to avoid the trappings of the Trap though. After the Crew had a good laugh they continued further in but every few feet lay a new deadly trap. But that wasn't all, Glowing eyes observed them as they progressed and would disappear as the Group approached. Overall it was generally creeping the Crew out. Eventually they made their way through were a couple of Undead Pirates barred the door and tons of Creepy eye things.

Vicala and Grim proposed they just cut them down. Others suggested they approach and converse with the Undead Pirates.

Still unsure of the plan the Crew approached the Undead Pirates the Eyes of course vanished and One of the undead Pirates spoke in a raspy voice barely above a whisper. "Ye seek the Wavebreaker's Treasure?" It asked the group. "Who's askin'?" Alistair retorted back. The Undead Pirate simply repeated the question. Seeing this was going to go nowhere, Tami simply blurted out "Aye, We be after tha Treasure." After a brief paused the Undead Pirate spoke again. "Those after the plunder of the Wavebreaker must prove themselves worthy, Failure to prove worth will lead to an untimely end." It said. There was another pause as the Crew milled about wondering what test would be given.

"What does man love more than life
Fear more than death or mortal strife
What the poor have, the rich require,
and what contented men desire,
What the miser spends and the spendthrift saves
And all men carry to their graves?"

It said an proposed a Riddle. But before anyone could even think of the Answer. Krisaga answered "Nothing."

After a pause the Undead Pirate said "Correct." The Undead Pirates then faded from view, Disappeared like the Eyes. Happily the Crew entered the Throne room where everyone went to a Chest or such that caught their eye. Lids were opened, Gleaming faces of anticipation peeked inside to reveal...Nothing.

The Treasure was Gone. The Crew wondered if the other crew and ship Swanson mentioned had came before them and nabbed the Treasure before they got here. Slightly peturbed and not willing to leave empty handed they continued to explore the place. Dealing with Deadly traps along the way and a few groups of ghostly pirates.

They finally came upon another chamber with a paticularly Nasty Trap had been set. Tamina began to work on it, Her nimble fingers carefully assessing and disabling the trigger mechanisms on the complicated mess of gears and strings. She warned the rest of the Crew to stand back and all but Alistair heeded the warning.

Just as she was going to Urge him to stand back a wire snapped and a lightning bolt shot out of a hidden compartment.

Tami being nimble, quick, and Agile ducked as her reflexes kicked in. The Lightning bolt shot over her but was still perfectly aimed and hit Red square where he stood. He wasn't killed however but the surge of sudden electricity that coursed through him made him heed the warning the rest of the Crew followed. After the massive trap was disabled the Crew entered the room to find a grisly scene.

Bodies were piled up in the Corner with Blood flowing over them as it dripped from the Ceiling. The Hellstorm crew came to the conclusion that these poor guys were the Crew swanson had told and set sail to retrieve the Treasure before the Hellstorm Crew had been told. Vicala reached over and let a bit of the Blood from the ceiling flow over her hand and quickly shuddered and wiped it off as a feeling of immense evil washed over her.

Clair stepped forward to investigate the scene when one of the Floating eyes appeared. Startled she swatted at it with her boot. It quickly Vanished and the cavernous Mine system rumbled and shook.

Everyone looked about Nervously and the general consensous was that they should leave before the feeling of something really bad happening turns into Something really bad IS happening here. They back tracked and finally came to a point near the exit when there was a bit of bickering among them. Some wanted to leave, Others felt like they were missing something and wanted to make sure.

Finally it was agreed they should make sure they weren't missing something and proceeded through the place. Tami stepped in a small little Chamber filled with old broken crates and things and casually looked around. The Group continued to press onwards finding a Door that was overlooked and a rather complicated trap. Meanwhile, Tami had plucked a note from her casual look around and was making her way back to the group. (The Note informed Tamina that the Treasure had been moved.) Kris backtracked and caught up with Tami, Inquiring about the Note in her hand Tami played it off and tucked it into a pocket.

Tamina proceeded to then start disabling the intricately designed trap and warned everyone to take a step back as they crowded a bit around her. This time most of the group complied including Red. Vicala however was one of the last of the Group taking a step back when again a Trigger was set off and Vicala hit by the resulting trap going off. Vicala was left rather unfazed by it though and Tamina proceeded to remove the Traps.

The way clear and free of obstacles the group made their way into what appeared to be some kind of bed chamber. Everyone casually glancing and poking around when Captain Alistair noticed a Map laying on the Bed. A couple of others walked over to take a look at the map as Red looked it over himself. Somewhere out of the Blue Tamina asked if there was a spot Marked on the map when suddenly the chamber filled with Shadows submerging the Room in Pitch black darkness.

The Group unable to see and trying to figure out what was going on stumbled around. Then springing forth from the shadows were Shadow beings, Perfectly hidden in the pitch black room they pounced on the unsuspecting Crew. Realizing they were under attack the Crew fought back, Though it was hard to tell where everyone was and Red nearly cleaved Tamina's head off in the darkness as he struck down a shadow.

There was a brief respite when shadows poured forth from the darkness again to attack. The Crew struck them down but they kept coming, There appeared to be no end to them. Using sound the Crew rallied together and fumbled their way through the darkness towards the exit of the chamber fighting off attacks from the shadows.

Nearing the Exit they saw the light of the passage and quickly got out of the chamber. The Shadows didn't follow them out and it appeared the Crew was safe. After catching their breath for a bit they exited the Cove and returned to their ship.

Being low on provisions, having lost have their crew and a damaged ship they returned to the Shore. They planned to Rest, Repair, and Refit before setting out to the spot located on the Map. Next time they would be prepared.

Battlescene from Tamina's view. (Written by Tamina)

The Sun had just gone below the horizon as a Small unassuming woman was rounded up out of her cell. She didn't offer much resistance as the Flaming Fist Champion known as Sunny directed her against the back wall of the Cell. Once she was up against the wall he entered and placed the Iron Monacles on her hands and feet.

"Don't let them get to you, Hold your head up high and make it dignified." He said solemly.

She agreed, She liked this particular Fister and even felt bad she had to use the honeyed words she used to relax his manner. With the Claps firmly in place she began her walk. They exited the Fist headquarters into the Docks. The Night air felt cool and soothing on her skin after spending such a time in the Stuffy uncomfortable Cell. She felt like bolting right there but she knew she had to wait for the Right moment.

She had tried to follow his advice. Though no matter the Dignified outlook she tried to portray her Pride still felt hurt as she could only hobble through the streets of the Docks. She enjoyed the view, She grew up here in these Streets. It felt and Smelled familiar even after so long. They passed through a Gate into the Main avenue of the City. A few Citizens stopped and Jeered at her as she hobbled by but she didn't care at this point. She knew she had to remain focused. Finally they passed the Great gate and entrance into the City itself and after a short walk through the Farmlands and more jeering by Farmers they came to the appointed place. The place where she was to Die.

'Fitting the Fist would add to the Humiliation by making a spectacle of it...' She thought as she gazed upon the outdoor Stage like structure.

There commoners from around the Farmlands and Adventurers of sorts were all gathered and facing the main attraction. A Freshly built Gallows sat center stage complete with rope and Noose. It was a strange feeling for her she realized as it almost beckoned her to the top for her untimely end.

As she was brought before the gallows a few Comments stuck in her mind. "She should be whipped, That's what they do with their kind from where I'm from. This is a better fate than she deserves." One man exclaimed as she stood there facing the gallows.

Another man there seemed to be recording the event for some purpose and was asking questions. It was then the apparent commander of the Fist in the area began to speak.

"This woman here, Tamina Lightstep, A known associate of the Pirate outlaw, is here to face her sentence for her crimes. The Crimes she is accused of are Piracy, Murder, Kidnapping, and General disrupter of the Peace. She was apprehended trying to enter the Gate under the Simple guise of Invisibility." He announced to the Crowd and looked over her shoulder with a grim smile. "Before your sentence is carried out, do you have any last words?"

The Small unassuming woman kind of smiled on the inside at that. She would have one last act of defiance it seemed she thought to herself. She nodded and cleared her throat.

"I Suppose'n I could say some proper words before everyone sees me off, If'n you'll all allow me?" She asked. The Fist commander nodded grimly and the Crowd hushed.

"Well, I'm not goin' ta waste time by sayin' I'm innocent of what I'm accused of or sayin' I'm sorry or any of that. Instead, I jus' have one thing ta say." She said loudly as she looked over the Crowd.

It was then she noticed them for the first time. Calithe was among the commoners and she saw a glimpse of Patches moving about as well.

'They must have a plan....' She thought to herself.

She looked over the crowd once more trying not to smile. She Spit on the Ground for an added effect. "All those who are here ta bear witness to my Demise I Curse ya! Beshaba is goin' ta have a Field day with you lot!" She announced and nodded to the Commander that she was done.

The Fist commander nodded to Sunny and he proceeded to lead her up to the Gallows. She Hobbled up and stood infront of the Rope and looked out over the crowd. She moved her hands subtlely and got ready with her lockpick. Calithe then began to Slap a Commoner and another Fist guard began to point at another walking away from the scene saying "I think that man is a Pirate!"

It was then she noticed the Guard's attention looking over the Crowd and everywhere else but where she was, Even Sunny. She saw her opportunity and deftly popped the lock on her feet bindings and shook them free.

The act didn't go unnoticed by Sunny as he tried to incapacitate her. She Leaped off the gallows and noticed the Guards now had their attention to her, The Archers on the hill were also poised, Bows nocked and aimed at her as well.

It was then it came, Appeared from no where. A Bateezu flew through the Air and Began to make a mess of the Archers. In that moment Tamina saw her chance to make a break for it, She turned on her heels and ran. Sunny again noticed and gave chase. His shout startled the other fist into action as well as they started to move. The Fister who pointed out the other man as a pirate gave a shout.

"Come on Tami! Move!" The voice was familiar. She ran past him who in turn tried to hold the onslaught of guards chasing her. "Alright men, Hold'em off!" Others in the Crowd pounced on the Fist and all Chaos broke out.

Commoners screamed and tried to flee the scene tripping over Benches. Paladins where looking up at the Bateezu and attempting to figure out how to get through the Chaos unharmed to reach it. Others in the back looked on in Shock at the scene as Steel clashed on steel. Blood was spilled and shouts of battle were yelled as Fist and Pirate alike were struck down.

The Majority of the Fist was occupied with the sudden appearance of resistance. Save for a couple of Guardsmen who scrambled after Tamina. Fleet footed and agile as she was she tripped on bench as she tried to leap over it. She landed hard on another bench and with her hands still bound she couldn't protect her body from taking the impact as she slid off between the space of the two benches. It was then a Woman appeared from under cloak of invisibility.

"Tami.. Catch!" She exclaimed and tossed a stone over to her and turned to face the Scrambling Fist officers in pursuit. Tamina was glad to see her as the stone flew threw the air and landed in her hands. Her Joy turned to horror as she looked over and briefly saw the Officers in pursuit lunge at Kris. An odd Sensation came over her and suddenly and in the blink of an eye she was back at the Shore. She layed in a Muddy road clutching the stone in her bound hands trying to grasp what had happened for a long while.

Back at the scene of the hanging the Pirates and Bateezu put up quite a fight but the numbers of the Fist had overwhelmed them. A few of the Crew managed to break free from the Skirmish and scramble away. Others were struck down. The Paladins offered aid and healing to the Fist who were still wounded as other Fist Patrolman came to the scene and cleared the bodies away.

The Bodies of the Crew that were struck down were taken to an unknown location and the Bodies of the Fist were brought to temples in the city to see if any of them could be called back and if not given proper burials and their families notified.

Synopsis:
Written by beneviolent
The elves of Doron Amar gathered early one evening and prepared for a journey. Setting out under the light of a full moon they left the safety and refuge of their village crossing into the Woods of the Sharp Teeth. Thergal Stonesmith, the druid of the woods, joined the group as they climbed a steep hill before heading further into the woods where they met Velaris Avlanti, an aspiring arcanist.

Ahead of the group Mendel and Laisren Ua Tiernan report. “Our scouts have reported activity since our last scouting.... a large migration of wild animals driven south.” They continued to traverse their way through miles and miles of wood. But time was fleeting and the moon was teasingly trying to dip.

Crossing a ruined bridge Laisren Ua Tiernan announced, “This is it..... the portal of Velsharr.” The group heard howling... followed by several more.

"Wolf are coming," stated Shi'Cath Anhvae'Kiira. There is more howling in the distance. More werewolves seem to be on the way, though they are a bit further.

Silias Ry’ena then commanded the group, "Some will remain here to watch he portal."

Elethineth Teu-Tel'Quessir stepped closer to the portal and closed her eyes in a dream trance. As the moon's rays peak at an angle touching Eletineth, the portal opened.

Stepping through the portal they were met by Werewolf Warriors and Wizardesses. "Do you come as friend? Or foe? Speak!" He gazed irritably at Elethineth.

Upon learning that “Time does not pass the same here and that if you were looking for Myth Llharast, you've come to the right place. It is gone now." Silias and Baelather Konian parlayed with them gaining an invitation to speak with Kana, daughter of Vehlarr whom they hoped might tell more.

Sharing greetings and hospitality Kana and the elves discussed the lure of Myth Llarast, the Moonbow and the Hunter. Hearing that “We no longer dream here and that they no longer deign her notice.” Elethineth offered Kana a reminder, her Moonbow necklace.

Kana agreed to show the elves “the way to Myth Llarast.” She led them up a mountain to an immense portal. Through the portal skeletons were seen heaped on the ground.

Laitaie Lafreth examined the portal and performed additional magic investigation. “The portal is damaged. As if it malfunctioned or ripped. Anyways, there is much residue of divine energy in it. It can be repaired. Or so it seems. You need to rebuild the circle of vehlarr for it to happe. That's what I understand from it at least...”

Luthien Aelorothi commented. “Well, the Circle of Vehlarr was constructed with the help of Sehanine. I think that we'll need Ele to get it back to working conditions.”

Werewolf Wizardess observed "I am afraid you are going to have to talk to Vehlarr to know how the portal functions" and then pointed to the moon setting over the horizon. "I am afraid your window to leave is closing and time is... different here."

Silias then commanded the group to return home, "The future holds many graces. This day, we leave," she motioned. "Before it is too late..."

Leaving the in between world the elves stepped once again into the woods. Rejoining their comrades they find Shi'Cath Anhvae'Kiira wounded, but alive by aid of Thergal, Maelir, Jaufre, and Laisren.

Hunter Harrow May 28th, 2012

Players involved:
Mendel
Dominic De La Rosa
Alisia Relin
Eden Qradyos

Synopsis:
More adventurers were winding up getting ready to help clear the hill giant population for Nashkel when they were hit completely unprepared by the sheer numbers of the hill giants. Having smashed the adventurer line, the hill giants grew bold and made a dash for it to Nashkel, where they wrought havoc amongst the guards. Hunter Harrow, unprepared for the onslaught came out helping Dominic with nothing but his fists.

The adventurers went back outside the walls, and Harrow followed them. He told them to prepare, and he would assist with his bow when he can. It seemed like the giants were en masse, he's seen this a million times before. He was confident they could hold. Dominic himself ran back in town to look for a healer to help revive the unconscious Eden.

Wave after wave they came crashing against the adventurers, Harrow offering supporting fire while he watched Mendel cut them down in awe. Alisia the archeress almost fell to the giants, but thanks to some well-thought out taunts from Harrow, she was spared before a blow could end her.

Dominic and Eden rejoined during the final wave, which Harrow warned was always extremely large. It was a long, fierce fight, but Harrow's confidence was not for nothing and all of them were victorious.

Well, except for Eden who managed to get himself knocked out again. Harrow revived him with some smelling salts, and seeing as the quartet might encounter this problem quite often, left them with parting gifts of smelling salts, having no monetary reward to offer.

The Wavebreaker Part 3 June 2nd, 2012

Players involved:
Captain Kalma Hellstorm
Alistair de Lioncourt
Vicala
Tamina Lightstep
Vala
Israe'anna
Vex
Michael Klinga

Synopsis:
Written by the Whistler
"So much for the godslayer's grand return!", everyone save Grim would agree. The mad captain had just returned from his hiatus in Luskan, followed by a throng of ragtag sailors, dropout militia and capable-for-nothing looking wenches. After making the necessary introductions, Kalma had the crew know that Red was still captain and in charge of this operation. As was expected, none dared question his wish, lest they fell victims to his unstable and drunken whims. Everybody on the ship seemed to be in high spirits as Red presented them with the map and dispensed orders to the crew members. All, except for Duke. Grim was sweet talking Fenora and Israe'anna was looking to get in a fight with the favored of Umberlee Kalma brought on the ship, Myrsky. Despite these novelties, everybody was assigned duties successfully and the brigantine was ready to set sail away for plunders and wealth in no time.

With a wide array of nautical instruments at his disposal, Duke set the shortest course for the Helmsman to follow while Red and the demented captain Kalma were overseeing the procedures on the helm of the ship. Everything went like clockwork there, as Myrsky was chanting prayers to the bitch queen and the rest of the crew fiddled with knots and sails under the lead of Grim who was now displaying a particular interest for Israe'anna, calling her to assist him with deck tasks personally. On the crows nest, though, things weren't as jovial, as Katarina's keen eyes spotted a ship hoisting no colours. Everybody braced for combat, brandishing their blades and crossbows under Kalma's orders. The ship was finally identified as hostile and was setting sail directly for the wolf. Pirates flung from the masts directly onto the Sea Wolf's deck with the stragglers shot down by the crew's experienced marksmen. Whatever rabble set their foot on the Wolf was executed summarily and fiercely, but not before one of the opposing crew's mages snuck an enchantment spell onto Duke, who killed a fellow sailor in his confusion. Spikes nearly cut him in two in a knee jerk reaction, but it was enough to make him snap out of the spell. Amidst the mayhem the spell caused, the crew was unable to hook and mount the smaller, nimbler ship that quickly fled in the dead of the night with only a burnt sail and half of its crew. The corpses bore no distinctives, leaving the crew clueless to their attackers' origin. The mad captain casually mocked the opposing crew's brashness and ineffectiveness and everybody resumed their tasks on the deck. They were nearing the Wavebreaker's cove...

Arriving at the cursed shore, the crew was greeted by a hail of arrows and found themselves engulfed by flames and what seemed to be endless waves of undead, raised by the baleful magics of the shadow priests who riddled the shore. The crew ran the undead frontline through with ease, emboldened by the lead of Spikes who rammed through the shambling corpses, using her sonic scimitar that sent bone fractures flying all around on every successful swing. Deeper in the shore, towers could be seen, with larger, stronger skeletons manning catapults atop the battlements. The nimbler ones scaled the tower and quickly took them out before Tamina melting the catapult's mechanism with a flask of acid. The undeads' retaliation was furious, as they pinned the crew on the tower with arrow and catapult shots. Kalma ordered Israe'anna, Grimsey and Duke to commandeer the adjacent tower and use the catapult mounted on it to bring down the huge shore gate as Israe'anna had proposed. The rest of the crew were to remain on the secured tower and cover the three. The undead atop the tower proved more than a match in direct combat, so the the thrio had to resolve to bombing them with acid and fire from below. A miscalculated shot from Grim rendered the catapult useless, sending the drow into a rage which she thought best to spend on running than a fight with her fellow crew member and rushed to scout ahead the northern part of the walls. Duke lit a torch and waved it to the crew, signaling that the tower was in their hands. Receiving the message from afar, Kalma ordered Red along with the new recruits to overwatch the perimeter around the first tower and secure an escape route in case things went wrong while the rest of the crew followed Israe'anna on the northern section of the shore. There, they found spare siege machines by the dozens. Duke was ordered to dismantle them, while the rest of the crew save for Spikes who acted as Kalma's retinue, scaled another tower and attempted to bombard the gate, but to no avail. The massive structure wouldn't barge from the shots, but they effectively took out its surrounding defences with precise shots on the battlements sending skeletons flying alight down the shore.

The crew quickly marched down the shore, led by Tamina, Vala and Israe'anna this time. Seemingly out of nowhere, a massive wraith emerged, stricking the tiefling mage down. Israe'anna lit it in faerie fire, a gift of her drow descent, rendering its hiding capabilities useless. Cornered and helpless, the shade was brought down by the coordinated attacks of the crew who helped Vala back on her feet after defeating the spectral assassin. From up close, the gate was even more imposing and it looked like nothing could ever place a dent on it. Yet it simply slid open, leading the crew in a complex of caves. There, the sound of chanting echoed all around, confusing the crew that was faced with the choice of three possible directions. Everybody followed the mad captain left, where they were faced with a rancid, fat witch that was quickly ran down by sword and spell. Following her demise, came Red's appearance who had left his post to check on the crew. The extra pair of hands would come in handy, as Israe'anna's scouting reported two more of these witches accompanied by undead. The next one they faced, was a tall, slender female figure. Spotting the crew, she summoned hordes of plague zombies to ravage them but they, too, proved little challenge. The witch was eventually bested and everybody came to the conclusion that each one's defeat weakened the rest. They knew they had to deliver the blow quickly to the last one before she could recuperate from the dissociation of the mental link. Indeed, she proved easier than her counterparts but her undead and demonic minions claimed a good portion of the crew. Following the fight, all had been struck down but Spikes and Kalma. The latter, invoked the powers of his patron deity, Umberlee, waving a serpent shaped figurine above the bodies. Wether by sheer fluke, divine intervention or by the aid of the magic trinket, their souls were anchored back to their bodies and were restored to their previous state.

With its magical defenses down, the middle treasure room was looking ripe for the plunder, save for a small detail. Wavebreaker's captain was guarding it along with four gigantic tentacles protruding from the very soil of the cave. He was encased in a halo of magical force, that seemed to be fed by the tentacles and rendered him impervious to spells or attacks. Despite his towering height, his menacing zweihander, the tentacles and the aura of malevolence that lingered about, Kalma put his weapons away and approached the figure to talk as equals. The man's unresponsiveness triggered Kalma's wrath who barked at the crew to bring down the codebreaker. At the captain's command a magical barrier rose behind the crew, they knew there was no escape from there. After the first couple of pirates fell to the captain's massive sword, Israe'anna started making short work of the tentacles which she suspected was his source of power. As more and more fell in the fight, Vex started dispensing charges of the spell haste stored in his bracers to the survivors so they could outrun and and tire the hulking armored captain of the Wavebreaker. The plan seemed to work, as the captain finally fell to his knees, exhausted, and members of the crew started regaining consciousness. Without wasting a second to catch their breath, whoever recovered started battering the submitted captain who eventually fell exchanging blows with Red. The wealths he had stored were immense, both in mass and monetary value. Spikes and Duke tended to captain Kalma's grievous wounds, which he merely joked about, while the rest of the crew prospected the hoard. Almost everyone found a weapon to suit their fighting style, along with various other magical trinkets and armour and of course, gold. Lots of it. With broken ribs, but unbroken spirits, the crew returned to the ship were the riches were rationed among them as the code ordered. The adventure had brought the crew closer together as a whole, but more particularly two persons, that were seen withdrawing to the ship's hull soon after their share was cut by the captain.
