Grand Duchess Jannath,
Grand Duke Eltan,
Grand Duke Belt and
Grand Duke Silvershield
Most Esteemed Grand Dukes and Duchess of Baldur’s Gate,
I humbly write to you on behalf of the Order of the Silver Rose outpost located here on the Sword Coast. We are a Knightly Holy Order based out of Neverwinter and our Mission is to defend the fair people of the lands against influence and agents of vile darkness, and to ensure peace and permanence for the triumph of the Greater Good. We have been stationed here for some time upholding your fair laws of land and offering our aid to the Flaming Fist as well as all other goodly organizations such as the Radiant Heart when ever needed. We have also aided in defense of the realm and care of the goodly people in the war against Amn. Most notably with our Triage station set up to aid the refugees and those injured and in need during the conflict. As well as taking up arms in the final battle that enabled Baldur’s Gate to secure a lasting peace.
Currently, the High Priest of Tyr Eldric Sulnar, has most graciously allowed us to stay at the Temple of Tyr in Baldur’s Gate. However our numbers have grown in abundance in the many months we have been here and we wish to humbly ask for a Writ of Legitimacy and permission to build a Keep upon your lands in the area of the Friendly Arm Inn. We believe this area to be ideal being that it is centrally located with plenty of land as our "patrol" encompasses all the way North and all the way South here on the Sword Coast. Should you request our presence it would be our honor to seek an audience with you to discuss this further if needed?
At this time I believe we have the funds necessary to cover the building materials, land price, documentation required and the labor. We have begun negotiations with the accomplished architect Barbryn Glori. Her impressive portfolio of past works includes renovations to the Radiant Heart Chapter Headquarters in Athkatla and, more recently, contributions to the reconstruction of the Temple of Gond and several noble estates in the Palace District of the Gate.
We humbly await your reply and hope to hear from you soon.
Respectfully,
Lady Elvina Aira-S’efarro
Knight Commander of the Order of the Silver Rose

Also at the request of Mr. White she explained to them to speak with the contractor Barbryn Glori at the Merchant League to obtain gainful employment, in regards to the need of skilled workers to help with other odd jobs that the Dwarven Master Builders may request for the building of the Order of the Silver Rose Keep.
She also mentioned to Bentley Mirrorshade the possibility of hireing those staying at the inn to help work and clean to help pay for their room and board as they stay at the Inn. *
Representatives of the Order of the Silver Rose,
Your Order and deeds in these lands are known to us, as is the service you have given to the people of Baldur’s Gate in more than one hour of need. In these troubling times more than ever, organisations of your calibre show their great value to society.
Therefore:
We, the Grand Dukes of Baldur’s Gate, hereby formally recognise the legitimacy of the Order of the Silver Rose. We recognise your right to exist, dwell and operate in Baldur’s Gate and the surrounding lands, to lease land and to purchase and own property.

To the Elders of Clan Soulaxe,
Greetings to you all. It was a great honor and pleasure to see all of you again during my visit to Sundabar and Citadel Adbar. I thank you all very kindly again for watching over my dearest daughter and my beloved grandson while I follow the path of my calling. For generations your clan and my bloodline have been bonded through he mutual ideals and safety of those in the lands and fighting the course of evil which has rooted itself in that which we call home. My grandfather often spoke dearly of his days travelling with the noble dwarves of clan Soulaxe to do battle against the agents of darkness who distorted the land and those who lay within it. Myself I was honored to travel extensively beside Morgal and Orak when I was still training under my Uncle Gabriel Honorblade. Morgal himself was there that dreaded night when the Banites came and sacrificed my dearest wife. If it was not for Morgal dragging my nearly dying body out of the temple I would have died that night with my wife and my uncle Gabriel.
It is the aid of my most trusted ally which I must call upon again. We spoke at length during that time of the Order of the Silver Rose and our wishes to build a keep in the lands of Baldur's Gate. There are many fine stonemasons and crafters amongst your clan and this day I am seeking your aid in the construction of our Keep. You would do us great honor if you are able to aid us in our endevor. I understand that the journey from the Silver Marches is quite a travel and if you are able to aid us I will support you in your journey in any way that I am able.

Most honorable Barbryn Glori,
Allow me to reintroduce myself, as I didnt speak much at our last meeting. I am Seth Siger, Knight General of the Silver Rose. I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for your guidance in the steps we are needin to take in the building of our Keep. I appreciate your wisdom in these matters. I am new to building of a keep, so any guidance is deeply appreciated.
I did have several thoughts, as it is the duty of each and every member of our order to help and protect the citizens of Baulders Gate and its surrounding lands. I have found that many of the citizens are without means of income. In other words they are without work to support their families with. To this end, I would like to suggest that we hire as many as possible to help the dwarven with the building of our keep. To give them work as would be suitable for each individuals set of skills, or lack there of, which ever the case may be.
I believe this will both benefit you, and help the Silver Rose help those who would ask for our help. The needs of the people are of great concern to us. This will also help reduce banditry on the roads , as people will be gainfully employed and will not need to resort to such means. And we both know reduced banditry also means increase in profits for you. Not only with the building of our keep but in your own endeavors as well.
I would like to send several that are without work to be considered by you at your own descretion, for employment. And who knows , you may find some of these souls are invaluable, hard workers, and decide to keep them on, long after our keep is finished.
My sincere Gratitude
Seth Siger

Dear Mister Seth Siger,
It is good of you to consider the needs of the people of Baldur’s Gate while serving your purpose. Of course I will try to accommodate as much local labour as possible into the build process insofar as it will not hinder the project in either cost or quality.
Be well, I will be in touch again soon.
Sincerely,
Barbryn Glori

To Morgal and the Elders of Clan Soulaxe,
Greetings to you. It gives me great joy to express my heartfelt thanks for sending Mr. Baz Silverfist and his associates to aid us with the construction of the Keep. With their help we may finally achieve what we have been working so hard for. Mr Silverfists gnomish friend Arno was even kind enough to provide us with a visual illusion of his vision of the Keep. It was amazing to say the least. You have done myself and those of the Order a great service. I do hope that upon completion of the Keep you will be able to meet with us and share in our celebration.
You have been so kind to my family and myself through our various trials and tribulations and even now you have sent some of your clan to watch over my beloved daughter and new grandson while I persue the calling of my ancestors. You and your clan have been a solid rock in our life and I am forever thankful for your continued support and guidance.

Dear Lady Elvina,
With your initial down payment I am pleased to report Mr Silverfist and I have secured a 2 year lease as per your request. All Mr Silverfist needs at this point in time is the recruitment of the labor force he requested and a work schedule for those in the order. Baz also requested what talents you have to aid in the construction of the keep to better direct those that are hired.
Be well, I will be in touch again soon.
Sincerely,
Barbryn Glori

Dear Ma'm, Sir and most honorable Miss Glori,
I have just returned from walkin the lands where our keep is to be built. I see some have been busy, Tree's have been moved and boulders reduced to rubble. But there is much more work needed before a proper foundation can be laid. The Grounds will have to be worked and repacted. Might I suggest this would be the perfect opportunity to have some of the local out of work citizens help. Farmers could bring their horses, oxen, and plows to work the grounds. Many out of work citizens can help with carryin of smaller rocks to create piles to be used later in construction. Also We can pay them to help set up the tents to house them and help cook and serve the food to feed them. And there will be some very hungry people with as labor intensive as this will be. I suggest our first step is to talk with the farmers outside of Baulders Gate, as they are havin a real rough time of it with the drought. They should be eager to accept our offer of temporary work in clearing, leveling, and stabelising the grounds for the foundation. Hopefully by the time the foundation is finished the rains will return for them.

//accidently posted in normal OSR thread about RP done in game
Lady Svala asks what she can do and if she may see a copy of the plans. Haeman draws them in the dirt as the plans are at the Temple of Tyr and he asks her to try to gather seeds from the plants nearby so that the land can be replanted once construction is complete. Later Mr. Pate came by to ask what all the ground shaking was about and was told that is was due to the breaking of ground for the Keep construction. In the end they do a good honest days work.*
*As Seleena begins moving the much larger rocks in her polymorphed form, Haeman continues to hammer as he had set aside his armor and shield. He helps move a few rocks and then goes back to hammering. He smiles as Tyn uses earthquake spells to soften up the land and to also help with the replanting of the Trees. Soon Tyn turns into a Treant and begins to pick up tree after tree transplanting them to a new spot. As he does this Lady Svala arives as Sir Uriel had finished with his racking of the dirt to help manually smooth out things.Cobral30 wrote:Haeman, Uriel, Tyn and Seleena broke ground on the keep today. Re: Construction of the OSR Keep
*Uriel was present at the groundbreaking for construction of the Order of the Silver Rose Keep. He was joined by Seleena, Haeman, Tyn and Svala. Initially, they started out by blasting one of the rock formations into more managable sizes. Uriel quickly wrote out some caution, blast radius signs and set them around the parimeter and then kept watch to ensure nobody wandered in as Seleena went about the work of using ice storms to break up the rocks.
After the rocks were broken up, Seleena then enlarged herself and polymorphed into an umber hulk to move the larger boulders outside the area. Haeman and Uriel then set about the task of breaking up and shaping some of the remaining rocks.
Tyn set out to move the trees which were in the area which the Keep was to be built. He started by loosening up the ground around the trees with an earthquake spell. He then loosened up the relocation area with another spell. Shifting into a wolf, he dug holes for the trees to go into. Uriel attempted to aid him in this, but his shovel was no match for the digging prowess of Tyn-wolf. Tyn then shifted into a treant and saw the trees relocated to their new home. Finally to finish off the process, Tyn shifted once more into a water elemental to provide life sustaining water to the newly relocated trees.
Svala set about the area to gather up the seeds of varying plant species to see to their reestablishment after the construction was finished. Once locating them, she then proceeded to scout out the area to see to the local wildlife so that none of them became endangered or dangerously displaced during the construction process. Once returning, Svala herself shifted into a badger and aided in the excavation process.
In the end it was the unique skillsets of the members of the Order of the Silver Rose as well as their close friends which made the first day of construction a success. Their teamwork and drawing on each-others strengths saw that many details were covered in which individual thinking would not have led to such success.*

Lady Elvina, Sir Seth and Miss Glori,
Excelent ideas Sir Seth, though the grounds have already been worked over, holes and foundations have been dug but do need to be fleshed out so I am not sure what the Farmers would be able to do now and they do have alot to work on in their own farms trying to get crops to grow so people do not starve. They may be needed to help replant the grounds once construction is complete but we do have Master Tyn and Lady Svala both druids who are more then capable of this task. The foundations are all but in place with what has been done today through magic and our own hands. Sir Seth with your knowledge on those who have lost their homes and jobs I hope you will be able to help Miss Glori in getting workers. That does remind me that we also need to make a shift schedual so we can have people working and have them patroling. If you would like to do that, it owuld be wonderful. Also in regards to the labor force we were asked to place flyers around. Someone needs to do this and also Lady Elvina asked you to write down a list of our collective strengths to aid in this construction. It will help the contractors be able to better decide who can do what and make construction run more smoothly. If you could do this that would help alot thank you Sir Seth. Right now we are simply clearing the area and digging a foundation hole relatively simple as I used to work on a farm and know a bit about building barns atleast.
Thank you all for your time and by working together, ensuring ideas and keeping up to speed on what is going on, we will be able to construct this keep smoothly.
Respectfully,
Morninglord Haeman
*After writing to Elvina, Seth and Glori he reaches over on his desk and unrolls the exterior plans for the keep. He makes note of where they had broken ground and begun digging the foundation and where the trees were planted. He makes a few notes and then heads off for a bath. Later when clean he heads off to ask Lady Angelina if she would like to go out for dinner.*

*While the others were breaking ground, leveling and caring for the plants and animals, Lady Elvina was pouring over her copy of the interior plans, making lists of things that will be needed for the interior of the keep. Her list looking completely chaotic with everything jumbled together, she decides to take it room by room starting with Rand's Kitchen and Lounge.
Trying to stay organized, she decides to start from the ground up. Begining with a color scheme she then decides on flooring, wall textures, carpeting, then fixtures, lighting and furnishings. Not much of a cook she thinks it best to go speak to Rand about what he will require in the kitchen.*

Re: Construction of the OSR Keep
written in duty log for construction of the keep
After spending several days of sojourn and contemplation regarding the construction of the Keep and Home of the OSR I returned to the work site in hope of finding how I might aid in the process.
Having received detailed descriptions of the plan for the keep and surrounding terrain from Sir Haeman I proceeded upon the advisement of Sir Haeman and Sir Uriel to:
1. Upon transforming into a Badger of great size I endeavored to assist in the preparation of the terrain by excavating, filling in and levelling areas with minimum disruption to the flora and fauna withing the site.
2. Both during my work on site and during my wanderings throughout the region I have been gathering seeds and cutting of plants that can be used to populate the grounds, such as grasses trees and hedges as well as such ornamental plants that are needed.
3. Making effort to help relocate or habituate and animals (and plants) that have been disrupted by the incursion of the construction site.
I have made it known to Sir Haeman that my ability to transform myself into an elemental being of any of the four primary elements could be of tremendous aid during the construction process.
I will attempt to expand on what duties I might fulfill as an elemental form at a later time.

Upon Lady Elvina's offer to allow the Dwarves of Stonebar a temporary home in the new keep, Tyn decides he wants to help with the construction.
Upon arriving I see a mage blasting the rocks into smaller manage chunks for Sir Haeman and Sir Uriel to work on with hammers. I decide to speak with Sir Haeman about moving the trees without cutting them down. After he identifies the trees to be moved, I secure the area making sure Sir Uriel's blast notices are up.
Speaking a prayer to Silvanus the Oak father, I call upon his power to create a small earthquake in the relocation site to loosen the soil. I thank call upon is aid again to transform into a large wolf and start to dig the holes for the transplanted trees. Once I have completed this I call upon Silvanus again to create another small earthquake around the trees, so loosen them, making them easier to move.
I then transform into a Treant and because the slow process of moving the trees one at time, making sure not to injure the roots if possible. Once the trees had been moved I transforme into a badger to cover the roots with dirt, and pack the dirt aroudn the roots.
Finally I take the shape of water, making sure the trees have enough water to resettle the dirt about their roots and help them adjust to their new locations. I shall continue to check them during the course of the construciton to make sure they are ok, and not dying.
Once that was compelted, I transforemed into an earth elemental and helped the knights break the rocks tht where left.
I shall return again and see what help I might be, I will also collect seeds and cuttings during my travels to bring plants from all over the lands to the gardens of the Keep so all visitors will see a piece of home when they are here.

Re: Construction of the OSR Keep
Revenark of the clan Stonehold looks in wonder, impressed at the amount of work completed in so short a time. “I expected notin less o these good folks” He thinks.
The Stoneholds were a clan of master masons, rather then smiths, while Rev’s father and clan were lost to him at an early age it ran in his blood. He’d be the first to admit he’s no master mason, though the great reconstruction of the Dwarven stronghold in his homeland honed his skills in masonry and organization.
“I ney be havin any skills in da art o magic, but I be knowin me stones enough to find a place to aid the cause me thinks.”
He walks about the construstion site for hours marking the excavated stones into categories. Those great for foundations, heavy load bearing walls, inner non-load bearing walls, leveling splints, or crushed in to types used for drainage bedding, fill stones, etc… He then starts seeking out the best sites to compile these stones and future imported stones into proper catagories, and based on the order in which group will be used. Close to where their needed, while not hindering the elevation efforts.

Re: Construction of the OSR Keep
*Haeman posts a notice in the Temple of Tyr*
Knights And Squires,
There are a few things we need done still in regards to building the keep.
1. Flyers posted asking for workers in hopes that we can get some of those who are without jobs some employment.
2. Make a schedule for ourselves of when we can work so that we can balance patrolling and working on the construction.
3. Make a lisitng of our skills that can be used to help build the keep whether it be magical means of having been a farmer or carpenter.
Whoever wishes to take on any of these please write below so no one does double work or we have two people working on the same thing on accident.
An Update on the Keep for all: We saw that supplies have came in and wagon loads of materials. A few tents have been set up as well it seems Miss Glori and Master Silverfist have been just as busy as we have. This is wonderful news. We spent a good protion discussing some plans and additions of some shrines, and answering questions of people who passed by. Keep up the good work!
Respectfully,
Haeman
