// Funny how both escorts lost their horses!

I've written a little something to tell the journey of the low level escort in RP. Valge died twice, the first by the time she was resurrected (loading screens took ages) the others were halfway across the map. Seeing how slow the caravan actually moved it might tell something about the lag I had
The giant Gobu, with a honey cookie at his feet. In the background the smoke from the burning wagon with the roasted horses.
They had barely moved the wagons outside of Baldur's Gate before they were ambushed. The ambushers were clever this time and used fire arrows to set one of the wagons on fire. No one seemed to have a pocket water elemental with them, so people tried to do what they could to quench it by throwing dirt and casting frost and ice. While everyone was focused on saving the burning wagon the wonderful scent of fresh horsemeat drove the giant Gobu forward. He wanted the horses, and if he were to help the
hoomies he also wanted something sweet. Of course Valge being the druid she is knew exactly what Gobu meant while everyone was puzzled, panicked and whatnot about the situation. She gave Gobu cakes dripped in honey in exchange for that he would join and protect them against the ambushers. Gobu was most pleased at this and while the exchange took place, the horses had been roasted nicely. Gobu sat down and dined on the horses and offered Valge a leg, which she took gladly and shared with her cat Lumi.
Omar had been sent to rush back to the Gate and returned with fresh horses. Gobu was very excited about this but another honey cake steered him away from the fresh meat. They had tried to persuade Gobu to help with the burning wagon but Gobu had refused, not all honeycakes in the world would make him touch that hot fire. Gobu wasn't
that stupid. The wagon was lost but now they had two horses instead of one to pull the other and were able to travel faster. They also made sure to ward the horses and the lone wagon from any dangers they could imagine. As they reached the river, the giant Gobu was wounded badly and the ambushers were concentrating all their force on him. At last, Gobu fell and the earth shook as his body hit the ground. Unfortunately he now blocked the river passage. Valge no longer had to worry about Gobu's wrath if she had to tell him she was out of them honey cakes. Gobu's body was heavy but the slippery stones made them able to push it away in order for the wagon to cross the river. Strange enough a water elemental assisted in moving Gobu's body. Valge grumbled and muttered about these elemental but made the conclusion that it must have played in the river and someone encouraged it to help them. Surely no one would have hidden one when there was a fire to extinguish..!
The rest of the journey they continued to fight off the bandits and many comrades fell. At last they had reached the bridge and could hand the wagon over to the mercenary company that would accompany it the rest of its journey. Some considered the escort a failure, having lost a wagon, horses and so many lives. Looking at the complete picture however, they had to agree that they did their best with the odds against them.
Edited: Added a line about that water elemental at the river and made it easier to read
