Tributes to the Queen

Unread post by Gottmoerder »

A slim man in bright green robes, carrying a trident on his back, walks past the farmlands and sets down right next to the Baldur's Gate side fishing spots of the river Chionthar. He kneels down on the water silently and steps into the water, anointing himself with the flowing river and saying small prayers to Umberlee out loud. His right eye is covered with an eyepatch, behind it erupting a large scar.

He then casts a spell and starts carrying rocks upon the shore, placing them carefully next to each other in a formation of a big clam. When he's done he expectantly looks upon the fisherman and spreads his arms, signalling them to approach.

"Hear me, fishermen! You've entered a realm in which you do not belong to! Approach forward and heed my warnings, for none will be saved if this desecration is to continue!"

The ragged fishermen, starved as their own families back home, despite the fear gripping their hearts at the sight of the powerful individual just grit down and stand their ground, while two of them go get the first Fist officer they can find...

As the Fist patrol comes, they intimate the Warpriest to stop bothering them:

"This is our land to control, old man. And we do not take this rubbish from anyone. Go back to your temple, and stop bothering the locals...donotmake me say this again, because there won't be a third time...
Somebody told me I should do what they told me...
But there's a hole in that plan, and I'm tearing it down...

The man in the green robes nods to the Fist and smiles to the fishermen. His confidence hasn't seem to have wavered at all due to the intimidation and he calmly lets out a few words;

"As you wish, Officer. I woul' jus' 'ave one lil' request before I be partin'. Would ye let me clear out me altar an' say me prayers before I leave? "

He then points at his altar, empty without any coin.

Bored and in a hurry to resume his duty, the Fist officer replies, after sighing heavily:

I barely understand what you say, and your prayers mean nothing to me, but it is not against the law. Finish your ritual, clean up and pack. No more trouble...understood?

And steps back towards his men, whose eyes never leave the old priest
Somebody told me I should do what they told me...
But there's a hole in that plan, and I'm tearing it down...

The man bows slightly and replies respectfully to the officer;

"Naturally. No mo' troubles."

He then grabs a bucket next to him and heads to the shallow water. He makes sure there's a lot of kelp in the water he picks up, he reaches for his bag and grabs a pinch of salt and stirs the bucket, making it resemble seawater. He takes the bucket next to the altar and strikes his trident to make a pole with the tips pointing up the the heavens.

He bows his head and kneels down in prayer and utters a prayer, along which a few words can be heard among the fishermen; "... and I'll pity none o' t'ese fools 'at 'ave taken from ye, wi'out givin' ye anythin' back me queen ..."

The rest of the prayer, in silence, he finishes. He raises up and grabs the bucket of salted kelpy water and tosses it on the altar to signify the Bitch Queen that no sacrifice is to be given to her from these fishermen. He then picks up his trident, attaches it to his back and leaves the scene towards Baldur's Gate, back to the The Water-Queen's House.

Meanwhile, close to Roaringshore's infamous port a certain man holds his own ritual for the Queen of the Depths below deck with his most trusted men infront of small Shrine.
"At Wolf's night we arrived. Winter's black winds and Death with us. Old and feared
'Cause all might is in Ocean
With lust, as sword of depths, as storm - We sail in her name!
We bring the ending war, we bring the Will of the Depths

Truely, we are the death what has ordered on them - War what brings only clory for our Queen!
The war what brings the will of her upon all of us. Be that death or place in her court.
So it is ordered...
So it will be...
New age's 'order' - Kindom of Umberlee.
"
The Captain rises slowly up from kneeling position and looks upon the fanatic few behind him. 'Bring the sheep and the chest! Our Queen shall have her sacrifice.' The baaing sheep and a small chest filled with some riches (silver and copper mostly) are brought on ship's deck. "Tie the sheep on chest! Pray that the Queen is pleased with this sacrifice, coins for her cache and meat for her bloodlust!" Few moments later the panicing sheep and the small chest are thrown overboard...
