The word around Nashkel are that the Nashkel Trade Emporium no longer employ the Adventurer's Guild as its mercenary company. It's rumored that Delphinn Veil is looking for new mercenaries to resume efforts to clear the Nashkel Iron Mine of its invaders and restore it to operation.

Word is that A tall man in black cloak with silver lining walked through Nashkell in slow, mourning steps. As he approached the gate he wards himself thorougly, his words were draconic only. People saw him carry bottles of holy water, bags of golden coins, and the scales of a copper dragon were visible under his robes. It is said that he went to a secluded spot on the mountain to build a small altar to Io, and bury the remains of the noble, yet fun-loving creature. A day after he returned, still in his mourning mood, his steps seemed lighter, both physically and in mentality. He then walked over to harrow, and handed him a potion of Instant Feast, thankful for his scouting for a secluded spot.

Word spreads around Nashkel that Delphinn Veil, the proprietor and Head Master of the Nashkel Trade Emporium, was drinking at the Belching Dragon. The more he drank the more he bragged about his wealth and all of his charity, saying he was the only one to help the reconstruction of Markhold. He goes to tell of the large sums of gold he gave to Beregost and Gullykin, and how even now he aids the hin village. Finally, he finishes his pontification by saying that he's even going to help the Gate and its people. Saying his charity will be unmatched by any merchant outside or within Amn. He says the last part with a smirk on his face as he looks at merchants that have traveled north from southern parts of Amn.

Hunter Harrow lifts his hand to shield himself from the chilled blast. The wind has picked up, and with it the bite of snow and ice as it whips its way around the mountain. Such assaults by the elements could be the end of a less experienced ranger. These blasts have been known to knock a man clear off the mountain, tumbling to his death. The hunter draws his furs tightly to his chest, he lowers his head and pushes forward, knee deep in snow.

´summer in the cloudpeaks.´ he chuckles to himself. The icy blast subsides, and the hunter continues his way up the mountain, pulling a small sled. The sun pierces the gloom and seems to burn away the minor snowstorm. It now glistens off the snowfall like diamonds. The hunter squints his eyes as he presses on.

Ever wary, this trip is uneventful, no sign´s of yeti´s or frost giants. The cave is just around the bend. A familiar scent greets him as he enters. A light flickers at the first turn, not noticable from outside. The hunter knocks some ice off his boots and continues down the hall, the sled scraping on the stone as he drags it alongside him.

A robed figure inclines his head at the clamour. He lowers his head slighlty to allow his hood to droop lower over his face. Light dances over his visage as he dawns his gloves as the guest approaches.

Hunter harrow passes the bend. The smell is thick here, the smoke visible, the vision less appetizing. A fire burns in the center of the room, provide light and much needed warmth. many smaller fires on the knooks along the walls. An alchemists table is set up, with several dried herbs piled up near the various glass aparati brewing potions. The smaller fires serve as burners, the hunters eyes drift to a series of large stone pots over the burners. Within them, a thick grey paste bubbles up. He pauses for a moment over the pile next to the cauldrons. Mentaly he identifies the articles, cow femur, pigs hooves, chicken feet, pig rib cage...

`Hunter Harrow, it gives me great pleasure that you grace me with your presence again. I do hope you will stay longer this time?´ Harrow shakes from his daze as the old wizard speaks.

He nods slowly as he pulls a few sacks from his wagon. ´provisions` he tosses a sack near the fire, a few potatoes and leaks roll out. ´And for your ... experiments.´ He tosses a second sack, flinching at the sound of chicken bones snapping.

He looks up at the robed figure, sitting upon a throne of stones, huddled within thick grey robes. Several books, scrolls and writing implements at his side, a half packed intricately carved wooden pipe laying on its side next to a pile of tobacco and herbs.

`Any news from the inn´s? Feldpost, FAI, the Gate?´ the robed figure inquires.

The ranger tosses a small stack of letters upon a stone shelf next to the wizard, who slowly starts to look over them.

`Please... eat´ The mage beckons to a cauldron with stew hanging over the central fire off a spit.

The hunters eyes look towards the pile of carcasses in the corner.

´Is it really so different?´ The mage pauses, looking at the hunter, who swallows. ´worry not hunter. I do not mix my experiments with my dinner. Be at ease, you have had a long journey´ The robed figure reaches for his pipe as the Hunter sits near the fire and prepares a bowl of stew. The ranger eats as the mage goes over the correspondence.

´No one can procure a simple sculptor!!´ The robed figure starts. For a moment there is silence.

´I should make my way back... if I am to return before dark.´ The ranger starts to gather his things.

The mage sighs ´Of course, of course... you will allow me to pay you for your service? And provide a few wards for the road?´ The mage holds up a bag of coin.

´You are too generous, but I´ve little need for coin. Hunter harrow slings his pack over his shoulder.

´At least take a few potions I have prepared for you. For the road. They will serve you well, in times of need or in trade... I insist

Very well Wizard... I thank you´ The ranger packs up the potions, and after much protest, begrudgingly accepts the gold.

´I shall see you out then The robed figure reaches for his staff and rises.

´no need... I know the road. The provisions should last you a few weeks at least, any new missives will have found their way to the Feldpost by then as well. Farewell until then old one´

The old mage nods. He wards the ranger as he prepares and walks with him to the cave exit. He watches as the ranger descends the mountain, until he is well out of view. The robed figure takes a deep breath, taking in the cold of the mountain.

Word of a tall man dressed in uniform of Candlekeep catches on wind, for he was seen carrying some rather heavy bag up the Cloudpeaks mountain. He seems to disappear here for long whiles, then return to the Belching Dragon for a good drink, and some boasting about Drakes, giants and yetis.

The Tyrran crime-fighter that has been roaming the coast lately, has been spotted in Nashkel several times. Rumour has it that he had been to the local authorities in Nashkel and given them a throughout description of a necromancer and a devil-worshipper, two elves by the first names of Belisario and Samael.

Nihm can be seen walking across the northern bridge just inside Nashkel. She takes a bound stack of parchments and secures them to a board along the path. At the top it reads:

This is the current inventory of Mossy's Mercantiles with a large number of recently acquired wares. All items are for sale. If you would like me to sell anything for you and add your wares to this listing let me know. For sales and any other questions, please send me a note at the Friendly Arm Inn or find me on the Trade Way.

///As always, keep it IC! If you send a private message here on the forums, please make it as though you are writing a letter and having it to delivered to her at Bentley's Friendly Arm Inn. All face to face interactions must take place in game but feel free to correspond to schedule meets. Also, please note the quantities available under the "QTY" column. Many items listed have been sold and are not available. With the large number of players not following these guidlines I will most likely be ignoring many responses to her inventory postings and only responding to those that are appropriately IC. Thanks!

Rumours speak of Hoihe handing over a battered mithral breastplate to Thunderhammer. The crack in the chest area seems to have been done by a slashing weapon, a very sharp one. He then handed over a sum of gold to have it fixed.

A big explosion's sounds washed over the areas around the Cloudpeaks. It came from the north-eastern peaks. The snow was red for a hour afterwards and the snowcap of a certain, tall and cold peak was completely removed. Anyone tasting the red snow around that peak would have tasted blood.

Word goes around about a Open-lecture on Necromancy and blood magic by the living waterfall of words, Hoihe Dacino to an elven woman and a human one. He explained to them the actual meanings of the two, swatting away clouds. He was especially keen on necromancy's meaning as a school of altering negative energy and it's uses for good causes. He also broke blood magic into levels, explaining the various examples of it being used almost every day by arcane healers.

However, most rumours are about how much that man can talk, losing the authenticity and the message he tried to put forward to questions of.. How can he talk so much?! and "Did you understand any of his words. It was done in Beregost, that much is kept. An Amnian magic licence was hanging from the belts of the lecturer so the guards did not stop him.

Missive to Captain Mauricio Valez

A new hill giant chief has rallied the hill giants, he is larger than any ordinary hill giant and he commands ice and lightning.

This new chief was gathering his forces to march on Nashkel, after a lengthy negotiation it was revealed that the hill giants was slaves of the frost giants, the chief was convinced that freedom from his people could be archieved trough the aid of a small group of humans and elves.

The terms of the agreement was as following:
The hill giants would attack the frost keep, the group of adventures would sneak in during the confusion to destroy the king and seize the keys of the keep.
Upon delivery of the keys to the chief of the hill giants the chief would guarantee one year of ceasefire between the hill giants and Nashkel.

The skirmish went as planned, one member of the team, taking part in the destruction of the frost giant king, refused to hand over the keys, instead he went into a fight against the chief, the warrior was defeated, the chief got the keys.

As a result the chief no longer believe the agreement is in effect, as such he might attack Nashkel after he rebuild his fighting force.

What was gained as a result of this ploy was as following:
The frost giants was evicted from their keep.
The hill giants suffered large number of casualties, their fighting force is temporarily broken, Nashkels military force was untouched.

Word is abuzz as Nashkel Trade Emporium's James White, Triston Ebonhawk and the unlikely Rai come limping out, bloody and beaten, of a Nashkel cottage. The story told the guards is as follows:

"We were investigating the deaths of our miners, the cult that has been turning men insane. We found a cottage and entered to find men in hoods. We tried to find the root of the cult, but instead found demons.. everyone a demon. And in the basement a ritual circle.. Ilmater have mercy. We did our best, but everyone died. Maybe if I'd not been so brash... maybe if I'd known more... god..."

James is nearly in tears by the end of his recount and hobbles away in shame and horror.

A note is pinned to a stick that has been shoved into the ground right next to the entrance of the Belching Dragon tavern in Nashkel.

[Edit.] The note has been taken down.
