Journal entry I:
Summons of Vhaeshess came out of nowhere. It has been far too long since I heard the call of the house, and I almost dismissed it until I heard her calling my name. I've always assumed that those who chose to remain in V'elddrinnsshar have long since perished and that myself with Goafein were the last members alive. How they survived the Sharites' attack is beyond my knowledge.
But, regardless, I dared not to ponder whether the magical summons have been genuine, merely arching an eyebrow at the specified destination... Sshamath, City of Dark Weaving. Infamous for its almost heretical hierarchy, its splendorous spires and its sickengly liberal attitude towards surfacers, this city seemed like the last place someone like her would choose for ascension. But orders are orders and one, who pledged themselves eternally to the cause... is expected to obey.
Me and Goafein departed immideately. We are about half-way through, now, laying in wait as overgrown carrion crawlers are passing nearby, occupying whole tunnel.
Journal entry II:
I wasn't even given a chance to settle in, as I was given my assignment in my first two hours as I entered Sshamath. Vhaeshess wishes me to retrieve a relic from the grasp of duergar cult.
My impression of the City, however brief my stay was, is not entirely unpleasant, much to my surprise. Aside from few insufferable traders and males with loud mouth, it is indeed a grand sight to behold. Goafein seems to prefer it here... but he is at no liberty to remain. We are to leave at the end of this cycle and scavenge the wildreness for any sign of the cult. By sister's assestments, we will find what we are looking for in Ched Nassad's vicinity.
She had changed much since the last time I saw her during her graduation from Arach Tinilit. She seems to have endured much and in doing so, grew strong. Her demeanour is less abrassive and she seems to plan her steps ahead, ten at a time... She is more dangerous than ever and seems strangely content with her current position, 'leading' a decimated House. I am only left with speculations as to why.
Journal entry III:
Ched Nassad is thrilling as ever. Many have approached us, some even seemed to recognize. But we haven't had the time to learn the intent behind such hospitality and, soon, moved out, scavenging the wildreness for any sign of duergar cultists, investigating several leads we picked up in the City. Soon, an odd group approached us, for some reason assuming us to be freelancing mercenaries they have been waiting for. They took us to their leader, who explained that they were preparing to assault duergar's fortifications. Their allegiance or purpose was not explained to us, but we agreed to join, thinking it's our only chance in penetrating the fort, not even knowing if our goal lies there.
It is the second cycle as me and Goafein remain idle in the camp, occasionally joining patrols and waiting...
