Galadriel keeps crashing, and Strahd seems occupied. It has taken them 30 minutes so far to put down the first and only placeable, and we're very much delayed. Any help to speed the process up would be fantastic

No matter where he is, with whom he is and what he does there are some things that Mendel enjoys. Amongst others, he likes drinking and he loves fighting. So when he heard that the dwarves of Kraak Helzak organized a drinking and brawl contest, there was nothing that would stop him from taking part.

He, Laisren and Axandros arrived early to the event where they were welcomed by Durgan and Kelburn. The drinks were already set up so they had the time to enjoy a drink or two while discussing about different things. Quickly the arena was packed with contestants and spectators and after a while Durgan and Kelburn announced that the event will begin with the drinking contest.

Mendel was amongst many dwarves but what worried him about this contest was the elf Athalanthliel who seemed to handle her drinks with ease. In the end, much to his surprise Mendel made it till the final round were he was beaten by the female dwarf Matilda. He was carried away by Laisren and Axandros since he was in no condition to walk. Axandros though found a way to make Mendel come quickly to his senses and take part in the brawl.

The brawl started and the first two rounds were for those not too experienced fighters. During those rounds things happened that even made Laisren suggest to Mendel to not take part. Mendel was listening all night long the leader of the dwarves, Starkad, to have fun of the elves so when he saw him prepare to take part in the final round nor Lairsen nor even the Gods could stop him from entering the brawl. There were 6 or 7 contestant but Mendel had eyes only for one - Starkad. Was looking forward to teach him a lesson about elves...

When Kelburn gave the word to begin, Mendel moved towards Starkad. Hoihe got in his way but was quickly put down so the path towards his target was open. Both of them exchanged powerful blows and strangely enough for a dwarf, Starkad blows seemed to expose Mendels weaknesses. The elf on the other hand has studied the way the dwarves fight making his blows so much more lethal. Combined with the raw power that many others wood elves have allowed him to put down Starkad. The fight between them though had exhausted him and had nothing else left for the other contestants. So when the other two who were left standing attacked him, Mendel fell as well. Still though everyone could see a smile on Mendel face and when they were moving out of the arena he asked Starkad what he had to say about the elves now, not expecting an answer of course.

In the end, Mendel has the outmost respect towards those dwarves. With some he had fought with and knows first hand how much skilled fighters they are. That combined with the beautiful event they organized made him donate some money and wished them to have their new guild house build as soon as possible. The Sword Coast needs those dwarves...
