Can't log in, Server is not responding (timed out).

As the name states, i can't log in to the server, or any server for that matter, been searching for a solution for two days now and finally think its time to make a thread.

I tried to Ping this server and it succeeded, no packages where lost, but when i tried to Ping dalelands beyond nothing got through.

i also tried to take the firewall down and direct connect and connect normaly, it didn't work both with and without the firewall.

also did as this thread suggested http://bgtscc.net/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=17867, it didn't succeed in getting me through to the server, but it did make the time it took for the game to realized it couldn't much faster.

where i am right now i think it might be the firewall from the modem of the college i'm at that might be the problem, if so, is there a way get through it without knowing what kind of modem it is?
