Ambush of the Orc Army

Unread post by Bulldog241 »

Syclya, the new Archdruid, waits in the trees remaining motionless as she watches the orc scouting party from a distance. It's obvious they are jittery, they suspect something is wrong even though their senses tell them nothing. Beside her crouches Celduil, her close friend and High Ranger of the Elder Circle. The two of them have become impatient with the lack of action about the army intruding into their forests, and this destruction of nature will no longer go unchallanged!!

The Archdruid reaches out to the forest, feeling the flow of the land and the conciousness of the trees. The birds and animals are her eyes and ears, and soon to be her claws and fangs. They told her exactly where this orc scouting party was, and now it was time for a message to be sent.

Moving silently, Celduil disappears into the forest without a trace, getting ready for the ambush. Syclya meanwhile literally becomes one with the forest, morphing her body into a powerful treant as the scouting party approaches them.

As they come upon her, some of the Orcs too late realize there is something wrong with the tree in front of them. Before they can make a move Syclya casts a powerful spell, filling the lungs of the party with water. They fall to the ground, nearly drowned as they gasp for air. Within a moment, Celduil had finished them off with a flurry of arrows.

Satisfied that they are dead, the High Ranger leads them off to the next orc scouting party. This night, the forest fights back.

Celduil makes sure the arrows he uses are not those fletched from Doron Amar, using plain human arrows instead. His companion, Anuaid, a white wolf with noble bearing, leaves his own mark - he ravages each of the orc corpses in turn, leaving their bodies bludgeoned, burned, pierced and mauled - a sure sign for whoever may find them that it is nature which is fighting back, not elvish scouting parties.

After the two elves' small raid is finished, a flock of hungry ravens comes out of nowhere and starts devouring the orcs' bodies with great zeal. A crackling thunder soon follows, after which a single raven, the biggest of the flock, slowly assumes the shape of the elven druidess with mixed parentage Athalantiel, suddenly returned after nearly two tendays of inactivity. She looks unchanged, besides three brand new parallel scars ruining her cute dark cheek. As she gazes at the little ambush the two elves just pulled, a small glint of joy forms in her eyes.

"What? - she says in a disappointed tone - we have a very rare chance to preserve balance by wrecking some havoc, and you don't inform me? How....unthoughtful. Good thing I am back then."

A slight smiled formes on Athalatiel's lips, while her gaze strays towards the sky. Very soon, the same orcs that were threatening Aerdrie's statue inside Doron Amar would have felt her mistress' wrath on their very skins.

//yup, I'm back, even if a bit busy with real life. if you give me a precise hour I shouldn't have much problems in coming though.
