The Dreams of Elethineth Teu-Tel'Quessir
Entry#1

Her skin is a luminous silver blue. Her gold eyes are kind and
forgiving. "Ele MoonElf" is slighter taller than average Silver Elf. Her midnight black hair is braided down her back.

Ele has a warm and open face with a kind regard for all. She smiles nearly all the time.
She expresses joy upon seeing the beauty and mysteries in nature. She constantly expresses delight in the friendship of her companions. She is generous with all, offering assistance, healing, and kind words. She loves people and encourages all to achieve their own spirit's perfection.

Being closely connected to the Culture and Rites of Reverie, she is often dreamy as she
experiences its' mysteries. When encountering death she is solemn and serene. A Moonbow
often appears in her eyes then as she enters a communion state with the departed spirit and attempts to guide the spirit on it's way.

She often wears a simple blue dress knotted with a simple sash. She has a silver headband, finely wrought, Examined more closely one notices it is a star chart. with patterns of
constellations ringing her head. Hanging around her neck is a simple silver chain pendant. The pendant carries a flat silver disk of a Moonbow.

In battle she is fierce and especially energetic battling Elven foes. She carries a bow, a longsword, shield, and quarterstaff. Her round shield is polished as brightly as a mirror.

City streets and underground passages confuse her. Outside under starlight she can navigate by star and recite the name and story of hundreds of constellations. Her name translates close to "Twilight Star." Often she points upwards to some notable star feature joyfully sharing her lore of Sehanine, Angharradh, the Seldarine, Elves, and astronomy.

Entry #2 re: The dream of Creation

Entry #2--The dream of Creation

For a moment there was quiet and no movement, then a longer moment. Ele's vision shifted
within, to reverie.

The stars hung in the sky and moved. Slowly at first, in reverse to an elliptical direction. Then faster and faster they shifted. All the while the full Moon held a constant position.

After sometime, ages perhaps, for several significant eclipses occurred in reverse, all within a quick moments blink of time, the blur of light increased to a luminous cloud.

Upon this backdrop of light forms engaged in conflict emerged. A battle raged. A slim elf fought shield and sword against a mighty Orcish foe. Their blows clanged upon armor, weapon, and shield. After an especially fierce exchange threw each back apace knocking each to the ground, an elf maiden, crying, pulled the elf lord to his feet. As she did so a tear fell from her crying eyes and mingled with a smear of blood dripping from the elf's wound.

The silver tear coalesced with the red lifeblood. The elf lord regained his feet yet his eyes watched the silver and red droplet fall.

It fell, and fell, and fell thru the cosmos.

Entry #3 Re: The dream of Childhood

Entry #3 – The dream of childhood –

The elf child dangled at the end of her mother's arm. Held by a gentle firm grip the young elf leaned her weight away from her feet pulling her mother's arm further. The mother smiled and tugged back pulling the child upright. Barefoot feet crossed the lawn to the center of a garden. On a small pedestal a reflecting pool glistened.

"Sit child." the mother said releasing her grip on the small hand.

The child plopped to the grass. "Quiet."

Looking up the child saw her mother outlined by the full moon. Light reflected by the pool shone upward keeping her mothers feature alight. Her mothers head gazed down into the pool. The liquid shone as brightly as silver. Her breathing slowed.
The child rolled onto her back. High above stars twinkled and her curious eyes winked at them. After some time her eyes felt heavy engulfed by the myriad of twinkling patterns. Yet, nearby she felt a presence, a sharing of moonlight, silvery light surrounding her and her mother. She saw her skin shimmer like mercury and held up her arms before her in amazement.

She laughed, adding her joy to the night's quiet.

The dream of The Days of Thunder
Entry #4

"Daughter, come dear. Let's gaze upon the stars together," the father said gently, his pride apparent as he stood next the young elf.

He pointed overhead, "there's more than the moon your loving mother reflects upon" nodding in the direction of her mother. Cross legged in the center of the glade her mother's face was raised to the moonlight. "She is marking tonight's Lunar Hallowing with meditation."

"Let's look to other areas of the sky tonight. Daughter, you've learned the tales of the simple constellations and know them as well as any bard. Yet there is more to learn dear. History and heritages are written in the skies if one but looks and asks the sages.

Raising his arm and laying his head alongside hers, he began pointing. "Ages and ages past before us there were the Iqua'Tel'Quessir. They are the Creator Races. "The Sarrukh - the scalykind, the Aearee - the winged ones, the Batrachi - including the shapers and piscines, and the Fey - the sylvans. The ancients called this time "The Days of Thunder." "

As he pointed to new areas of the sky gently illustrating patterns and quietly sharing each's history the moonlight's glow twinkled like a mist and bathed over the three sharing the glade.

After a while she heard her father differently and his words ceased. She felt his thoughts in her head, collecting her spirit and welcoming her into her parents' communal trance. He stopped pointing, their spirits knitted together in a true sharing of minds. She felt her mother's presence in the trance placing a vision before her. Eyes closed, she witnessed "The Tearfall" rend the sky and received her father's lore.

Entry #5 The dream on the Feast of the Moon, a Mystic Rite of the Luminous
Cloud

The girl arrived early to watch the afternoon sun's rays lengthen. The orange red
glow of sunset transitioned, the sky dimmed to violet. She recognized the first
stars, then the others as they projected forth from a blackening sky.

As the moon rose above the horizon, she felt the presence of other elves, gathering
for the Feast of the Moon.

Her kin quieted, entranced in the moon's light.

Her vision rippled, the starlight and moonlight coalescing together. A mantle of shimmering light rose into the sky. The enveloping silvery light darted across
the heavens.

A crystalline thought sharply pierced her trance. "Elethineth, your spirit is revealed to the people. You are Mooncalled, a Novice of the Luminous Cloud. Explore the mysteries of life whose secrets are veiled by me. Uncover new mysteries and aspire to transcend your spirit's mortal bounds. Shepard the t'quessi on their endless journeys of mystic wonder that is life and death and life. Assist them through these cycles and guide them to higher forms."

Entry #6 Re: The dreams of Pilgrimage
the dreams of Pilgrimage- a recurring omen (separately and also in several parts)

Sometimes just a quick glimpse snapped to attention behind her eyes. Other times she could linger on a detail.

She would feel apart of....

A shield emblazoned with three heraldric charges set per pall (as the letter Y).
A silver Moonbow disc at the top. The lower left a Heart of Gold and in the lower right a Cloud and Bird.

Entry #7 Re: the Dream of Her Burial Chamber

Entry #7 Re: the Dream of Her Burial Chamber.

Cloaked by enduring illusions to obfuscate it's location and prevent violation of the sanctity of the elves interred within stands a burial vault. Inside are three chambers, each circular.

In the first is a small pool of crystalline water, somehow prevented from evaporating. On the walls surrounding it are scenes of sylvan settings. A festive glen, cascading waterfall and arching bridges evoke the peace and harmony of the small elven outpost Doran Amar. Tall blue-leaf, dusk-wood and weir-wood trees pierce the mists of the Ardeep Forest where a silvery pool ripples as if of another dimension. Another illustrates the romantic bowers and mazes of rose-entwined boxwood found at the Temple of Hanali's Fountainheart of Shimmering Gold. Another shows the ice and snow of a mountain top aerie. Glances at each scene reveal further details, for in each scene is interwoven a portraits of those who augmented her spirit. Portraits of a father, a mother, a lover, a silver dragon, a spirited iron golem, veteran companions, and priests.

The second chamber, circular again, is empty. It's dome is adorned with the stars of the midnight sky. Somehow they seem to move from a starting position, then glide across the elliptic, but then suddenly stop, prevented from completing their march across the heavens.

Representations of the Seldarine ring the third circular chamber. Overhead a crescent moon shines from within a full moon.

Entry #8.

Her reverie changed. Her vision seemed to fail, falling into a mist, a cloud coating her meditation.

New sights appeared behind her closed eyes and sounds emanated from some inner central place.

“A feather fell, swinging left and right. A whooshing noise of great wind howled. Trees and forest sped below. She rose faster than an arrow, as if on a rising platform of silver, with wings perhaps. Up into, around, and through clouds, closer and closer to the mountain's pinnacle. Up, and up, in the sunshine not in the clouds, another elf was flying too. A golden elf, upon a golden beast. They flew together, up and up, circling a spire of stone.

Higher. There were ledges, some covered with glass. From one an elf looked out and saw them. Feathers, more feathers, feathers in her hair, feathers along her arms.. spread wide in welcome. She spread her wings, leaped and joined them in flight. She was quicker and more nimble, a flying acrobat and she shrieked a raptors' war call of glee. They were three specks now high, high, high in the sky.”

Re: The Dream of Shooting Stars

Unread post by beneviolent »

Entry #9 The Dream of Shooting Stars.

The spring night sky would be busy tonight. Spring was busy, just being spring, with all kinds of things bursting forth with renewed growth. Rapid changes were to be expected.

She remembered the attentive looks of the elven children as they sat before her as had told them of the power of the spring Moon. The equinox was just past and the Spring Moon tonight would be glorious in it's own right. She explained the pull of the moon on water trying her best to describe the occurence of the tides. How excited they becamee when she told them of the Tarsahk shooting stars! She smiled excitedly too.

The shooting stars of Tarsahk would begin tonight, the night of a full moon. That was unusual.

She closed her eyes. Her reverie was often an excersise of alignment. She began to frame the stars in position in her mind. The moon would rise there... the shooting stars would appear from here.. the shooting stars would cross here.. the shooting stars would dwindle there..

She gasped..the Shooting Stars of Tarsakh were in direct alignment. And The Moon, The Wereman, The Codex were in conjuction! In a straight line pointing south!

They would begin almost from the just below the full moon in the constellation called "The Wereman" and would extend south across "The Codex" towards the horizon.

Her vision blurred as her mind sharpened on that clarity. She saw a Vision...."Shooting stars. One especially bright flare burst as if from the moon to cross the pattern in her mind and flew faster than an arrow across the conjuncted constellations to the horizon, bursting again with a boom in her ears"

When the vision ended she was stunned. It meant something, but what? She reached for some paper and hastily drew a star map. Leaving it on the table with a quick note “Gone to Candlekeep - Astrology Room.” As she ran west ignoring hellos and waves from friends she tried to remember what her mentor Dhoelath's words about calculations over the horizon's edge..she would ask a Candlekeep mathamatician to check her figures.

Re: The dreams of Elethineth Teu'Tel'Quessir

There was bustle all about the camp. The elves of Dharash Everae were making preparations for the movement and defense of the people and the lands. Some were organizing food stuffs. Others were stockpiling arrows, armor, and weapons. At the center of a busy knot of warriors Laisren, Mendel, and other captains were examining maps and discussing training. Attending them were representatives of the nearby communities. Scouts would arrive periodically and report in. Drills were being conducted and analyzed.

Having delivered her own report earlier Ele slipped away from the campfire's activity to find a calm moment. Stepping into the night she glanced up. The valley and hills of Gullykin made for good stargazing. Few trees obstructed the view to the cardinal points of the horizon. The hot days and warm nights of Eleasias were begining to soften their intensity.

Her gaze quickly summarized the summer elven constellations "the Gorgon" and "Cassima". They had almost spun the length of their seasonal journey. The autumnal constellations "The Dancer" and "the Anvil" were barely cresting the horizon. Others like "the Swordsman" and "The Cornucopia" were moving about to the seasons dance. The thirteen stars of "Correlian" were past their zenith of Midsummer Night. "The Dancer" of Ellistrae was a month from it's brightest glory. Her heart beat joyously remembering new friendships.

Ele sighed her relaxed contentment loosing to an intense focus as she contemplated the lore of "the Cornucopia" as it neared "the Swordsman." For most people "the Cornucopia", a grouping of several stars in a V-formation represented good fortune, wealth, and fertility. It figures prominently in early Waukeen worship.

But it's other name caused Ele to worry. For some races the constellation refers to martial portents. Orcs call it "The Dagger", a sacred manifestation of their god of war, Ilneval. Ele's brow furrowed more deeply, considering it.

She looked to "The Swordsman." In some lands it was called "the Warrior" or "the Sentinel" where cultures associated it with loyalty, guardianship, battle, and freedom. Elven lore had its' own legend of the mighty constellation. It was "Auranamn, the First Elf". He had fought at Correllon's side during the great battle with Gruumsh. Although Auranamn died in that battle, Corellon lifted his spirit up and placed it among the heavens, to spend eternity watching over the elven race.

Ele gazed at Auranamn into the night, while the sounds of training continued.

The Feast of the Moon
a Mystic Rite of the Luminous Cloud

In glade, meadow, forest or dale Elves gathered to feast. Sundry tables were laden with the meagre fruits of the fall. Breads and others delicacies were present, though in fewer than years past. The drought's effect were evident in higher costs and lesser quantity.

It had been a busy day, sheparding her children from the safety of the refuge to this new campsite in the north. Now, as the afternoon sun's rays lengthened she watched her family and friends in the company of the people.

The orange red glow of sunset transitioned, the sky dimmined to topaz, sapphire, and then violet. The first stars appeared, then more, projecting from a blackening sky.
"Shansibal, the Cornucopia", not yet empty of its yielding of the fall harvest, hugged the horizon between the Swordsman and the newly ascendant "Labraen" the Archer bow aimed across the full width of the sky at the Dagger. An especially good tiding, as the Orcs call the Cornucopia the Dagger, regarding it as a manifestation of their God of War, Ilneval.

A constellation familiar to all cultures rose into the winter sky, "The Wolf." Animal shaped it was sometimes called Asglyn the Wolf in the North, Narnos the Doge, Nobanion the Great Lion in Gulthmere, the Leopard in the Shaar, and Ghastis the Jackal of the South. For elven people a part of the Wolf is joined with other stars in the constellation "Elael, The Songsmith" recalling an ancient elven fable about a bard who crafts a song so pure and sweet that even the Seldarine are humbled.

As she looked upon the stars and thought of them, she thought she understood. For at this time of year was the time to honor the dead and fallen, reason for the bards to sing with extra poignancy. She felt humbled too remembering Caranthir, the fallen scout of Evereska and his recent funeral. On other full moons she had noticed him, firing an arrow into the night sky, honoring Solonor Theladira, and setting out excitedly for a moonlight hunt.

As she stood watching the stars display, she thought of the Elven peoples, cousins, brothers and sisters and felt their close kinship.

Her kin quieted, entranced in the moon's light.

Her vision rippled, the starlight and moonlight coalescing together. A mantle of shimmering light rose into the sky. An enveloping silvery light darted across the heavens. A crystalline thought pierced her trance revealing a key to mystery that had eluded her. She felt a new spirituality illuminate an inner vision of new journeys.

The moment passed and the nimbus of light returned to the earth and the forms of Sehanine's worshipers coalesced.

Around her the Elves stirred. They feasted, danced, prayed, and hunted.

"In thanks for the Grace of the Seldarine and the illuminations of Sehanine we pray." She lifts her eyes to the full moon repeating a prayer offered by many elven generations "We remember ancient elven cities now in ruin and forests murdered, yet still tonight we sing to the stars and hope for renewal."
