A messenger arrives to camp seeking out Ele.

"Parcels from Evereska. Please sign for "The Glorious Finery and Tailer" of Evereska" he says, delivering a parcel. Ele smiles widely, tips the messenger, and offers a blessing of safe journeying to the elf for his return journey.

A whisper of joy escapes her lips, "dresses and gifts..."

Later she huddles with Luthien, unwrapping, fitting, and rewrapping some packages. "Marvelous" and "Beautiful" are heard occasionally.

Now perfectly sound of mind, Luthien rummages through all the various packages with an almost feverish obsession. From time to time she pulls out various types of textiles, showing them to Elethineth and giggling in a childishly manner.

"Brocade or non brocade, that is the question, my sweet lovebird. What do you think will suit Saline more? Silk, brocade or gossamer? This elven silk from Evereska is simply marvelous, but I fear it might reveal too much of her graces...."

Giggling and chuckling with her soulmate, the now restored sun elven priestess spends hours after hours planning the wedding. Everything had to be perfect, for her best friends' ceremony!

Laisren seeing Tan's sudden interest replies, "Even better Tan, I have paid to have a full barrel of Moonshae whiskey imported for the open bar!"

*Sywyn pens a quick note upon receiving the inventation and gives it to one of the rangers who have been detailed to patrol near the area of Gullykin*

Please give this to Laisren or Saline during your travels. If neither are in camp make sure to give it to one who is known so that it may be passed along.

After taking Saline to a private place where the two of them could speak in private, Luthien shows to the wild elf a wide range of different types of textile fabrics.

"Now now now, my dear Saline, since I am a good taylor I am to take care of your bridal garments...but you have to choose the fabric that I will use for it! What do you prefer then? You have ample choices between gossamer, elven silk, brocade, and so on. I would suggest you the use of gossamer for your dress, it's soft and allows for much freedom of movement but doesn't reveal your...ahem....abundant graces too much.

Brocade does the same but is a bit more limiting and heavy. Of course, if you want total lightness and freedom, silk would be the best choice, but that would leave you a bit...let us say...titillating, afterwards I finished the dress. So, what is your decision on the matter?"

Lucky Aello's was sparsely populated with customser when the tranquility of the late afternoon shopping lull was shattered by the clomping of ironshod boots and a booming voice. "Am 'ere t' be gittin ah' new bit 'o clothin' fer me friend's weddin. An ah'm needin 't t'day!" Durgan Ironfaar stood in the doorway to the little shop, his red beard flaring before him and the smell of recently killed things wafting out of the various openings in his heavy armor. Behind him, passerbys held handkerchiefs to their noses and hurred ashenfaced on their way.

Aello's two hired clerks spotted the dwarf, spotted his gruesome attire from his soiled and bloodied armor to his muddy boots, smelled his odor, gagged a little bit, then quickly hurried to the back of the shop to catch up on some inventory registering they suddenly remembered had to be completed at that very moment. Aello himself had been bent over behind the counter and so had missed the departure of his clerks. Straigtening sudenly at the sound of the bellowing dwarf he looked dumbsturck at Durgan.

The dwarf's hair flew widly in all directions, his beard nearly filled the doorway, his armor was a combination of blood, sweat, and dirt and his boots were even worse. A smell arose from him that made his eyes water. A fly alit on the armor, took flight again, then suddenly fell to the ground, it's small will to live having been overcome by the tremendous odor of the dwarf. Aello thought he even saw a fish tail protruding from one of the various pouches on the dwarf's belt. Thinking to summon the fist and have the individual expelled from the store he opened his mouth to speak, then closed it again suddenly as his eyes came to rest on the dwarf's purse - his rather voluminous and full purse. Summoning all the diplomatic power at his disposal, Aello smiled a forced smile and greeted Durgan.

"Greetings master dwarf. And how may I be of service today?"

Durgan was pleased by the warm welcome and ambled to the counter, unblocking the door and allowing the remaining few customers in the shop to flee to the safety and fresh air of the streets. Aello sighed as they left, but took comfort in the size of the dwarf's purse. Durgan was at the counter now and the smell made Aello dizzy.

"Greetins! Ahm Durgan!" The volume of the dwarf's voice made Aellos ears ring but he forced himself to appear pleased as Durgan continued. "Ah'm fer goin' t' a weddin' an ah'm thinkin' ahm in need o' some raet proper clothes. Whadderye think? Eh?"

Aello squinted as he tried to make out the meaning of the dwarf's heavily accented common. Mistaking the squinting as a sign of imapired sight, Durgan moved closer and stood on his tiptoes so that the shopkeeper could get a good sight of him. He restated his need for clothes again, a bit louder for good measure.

The combination of the proximity and the volume to the dwarf overwhelmed Aello, whose luck had run out, and he plummeted to the floor in a wave of dizzy nausea.

"Oi! Yer nae lookin s' good lad!" Durgan thundered as made a prodigious leap and jumped atop the counter, meaning to jump down and help the dazed shopkeeper. Durgan had not, however, accounted for the low ceiling of the establishment, so as he straightened, his head hit the ceiling. The hard dwarven skull made a large crack in the plaster of the ceiling and several chunks fell down around him. The sudden impact made durgan lose his balance and he fell atop Aello just as he was attempting to rise. The heavy dwarf drove the shopkeeper to the ground and forced the wind out of his lungs in with a whoosh.

Durgan took a few seconds to untangle himself and his equipment from the now unconscious Aello. He looked down at the still form and started rummaging through a sack on his belt which was full of small vials.

"Now don' ye warry! Ah've just th' thing fer ye!" Durgan rummaged some more, pulling out three vials in particular, and forcing their contents down the shopkeeper's throat in quick succession. The first one made him stir, then groan a bit. The second one bubbled a little as it struck his tongue, making his eyes shoot open. The third seemed to have no effect. Ayello struggled to a sitting position, and held his stomach.

"Ye feelin better lad?" Durgan inquired as he leaned in close.

Aello simply groand and shook his head as he held his stomach. Suddenly, there was a bulge in the shopkeeper's left side. Aello screamed as a hairy leg shot out of his side. He screamed again as an identical one shot out of the other side. Suddenly, his head shrunk and retracted. His entire body became compact and bulbous while his skin hardened into a tough shell covered with hair. Where Aello was once standing, now stood a giant spider making indistinct screeching noises. Aello's clerks, hearing the commotion, looked out of the back room and seeing the enormous spider ran screaming for the city guards.

Durgan simply shook his head and mumbled to himself. "Hmmm... green one... ah' was thinkin' t'was a potion o' healin... guess it were th' potion o' polymorph tha' wizzerd gave me. Heh heh." Durgan chuckled as Spider-Aello let out another series of shrill shrieks.

Eventually Durgan was able to calm the man-spider enough to coax him to the safety of the back room where he would be safe from the guards. Durgan had just pushed the last of Aello's hairy legs into a back closet and latched the door when three city guards followed by a battlemage burst into the front of the store. Durgan ran to the front to tell them what had happened, but the rather young guards were unnerved by the reports of a giant spider and as soon as they saw movement, the battlemage cast a great gout of flame toward the dwaf while his companions loosed flaming crossbow bolts at him. Durgan dropped to the ground reflexively and rolled out of the way, coming up in close proximity to his attackers. He rushed them and bowled them over, howling, and drove the trio back into the street and bore them to the ground. The guards calmed and became apologetic as soon as they realized they had been shooting at the dwarf. Durgan was very gracious and the four of them sat panting and chuckling a little bit over the whole misunderstanding. The laughter and comraderie lasted until the first tongue of flame leapt out of the front of Aello's store.

"Oi! Th' spider! Ah've got t' be savin im!"

The three guards started in unison. "SPIDER?"

But Durgan was already on his feet, charging through the now blazing shop. He crashed into the back room and ripped the wooden closet door from its hinges. A limp Aello fell into the dwarf's arms, the potion having worn off. Durgan carried him out through the smoke. Once he exited the stoor, a healer was summoned and in a matter of an hour the city guard had contained the fire with help from several wizards and Aello was on his feet and physically recovered from the incident. His irate ravings were calmed considerably when a representative of the city council arrived and agreed to compensate Aello for the damage the guards had caused in his store.

With the fire out, and the excitement over, Durgan was left standing in front of the smoldering store. "Oi... ah'll 'ave t' be goin t' th' Sevin Suns Mercantile now, ah s'pose."

Aello, who was standing nearby turned suddenly when he heard the dwarf's utteranc. He quickly summoned a nearby boy and gave him a hastily penned note and some gold and pointed him in the direction of his friend's shop.

Durgan eventually made his way to the Seven Suns Mercantile and was surprised to find that it had closed early for the evening. On the front of the door hung a fine set of clothes which were just Durgan's size. On them was pinned a note, it read:

Good master dwarf. Please take these garments as a measure of my respect for you. I wish you happiness in the marraige of your friend, but I must beg that you never, ever come in my store.

Durgan read the note with a puzzled expression. After a moment he shrugged, took the clothes and ambled off in the direction of a nearby tavern, humming an off-tune dwarven drinking song.

Saline simply smiles as Luthien talks of fabrics, uncertain how to broach the subject of her family’s long tradition of “being free of ALL earthly things during the ceremony”. “Perhaps it could be something she slips on afterwards” she thinks.

Laisren has picked out the attire for he and his groomsmen. Noting that black matches everything he chooses the finest robes from the merchant at the Seven Suns, ordering it special for the occasion.

He instructs groom's party they are to wear the same execpt for the circlet and is customarily dismissed until he goes on a groomzilla tirade, nearly setting fire to people when Dralzar states, "Why would you wish to wear undergarments to your wedding?"

As the days pass, Saline’s calm demure erodes away. With Laisren off making preparations for war and her people’s safety, she is left working with mayor to prepare for the big day. Looking over the pavilion she nods in agreement with the Mayor as he puffs away at his pipe. “Yes this will do nicely” she says as she walked down the path that in less than 2 days she will be walking hand in hand with her betrothed.

This day should not affect her so” she thought. “I have committed myself for well over a season… perhaps is it the finality of it?” Shaking her head she continues to press on in the preparations, putting on the smile her mother thought her so well to all that she comes intact with.
