Is it possible to play a half drow on the surface?

That is my question, I'm simply curious as I've been told you can only play them in the UD.

It's not possible.
We have no mechanism in place to have the drow change their home location to the surface.

Is there any possible thought as to changing the races starting locations to operate much like grey orcs (at the bottom of the priority list I know x3)? Able to select either surface or underdark. Only curious is all, also thanks for the very speedy response earlier! :)

What Luna wrote is true.

However:

It is very possible to play a halfdrow on the surface, just dont get discovered as being one by the crowd of lawful ambitions or tattletales (it might get you killed).

Expect to spend a lot of time in the netherese maze since the server is updated frequently with some minor side effects.

Have an IC reason, grinding is not an IC reason (or be ported back down to beloved Sshamath by a DM).

Actually no, we do not want any drow/half-drow living on the surface. If your character has solid RP reason to be on the surface, you can make the trip (legally) but you cannot live there.
And though I played the role,
I lost my soul, it's still within your heart.
It took a part of me, the heart of me..
To watch it fade away, It's over now..
Shades of blue and purple haunt me..

Ya we used to have a lot of drow that lived up here that were basically D&D's version of Nermal.

Sure. But you would have to get the DM's to agree to allow half-drow to be able to reside on the surface.
