A new beginning

[Solarina]

Vanya meets Celduil at the appointed place and time, to learn the ways of the forest, much different then the dirty orc cave she spent most of her life in. she can be seen talking to a squirrel , shes not sure how she can but she can sort of get basic ideas across to the creature, perhaps because she too is like an animal herself. She lets the animal know she wont eat it and wishs to play. With that the squirrel timidly comes to her, and she takes out her red paint and gently brushes on a red V with henna ink into its side fur while waiting for Celduil. " vanya no eat you, you vanya pet now , vanya friend " she tells the squirrel grinning at the big red V on its side.

[Celduil]

Celduil watches from a hidden location among the trees and smiles as he sees the young elf playing with the creature, not scaring it off and calling it 'friend'. He then quietly steps out into view of both elf and animal, moving slowly so he does not scare off the squirrel. He smiles to Vanya and gives her a slight nod as he approaches. "I see you've made a new friend."

He motions behind him for a moment before turning back to Vanya, coming to kneel beside her and the animal. "It looks like you're already beginning to understand why rangers seek to protect the land. It's much more enjoyable than life in the orc clan, isn't it?" He says quietly, still not to disturb the animal.

" tusks bad " she whispers. She repeats the elven words he taught her about various things in nature, occasionally slurring or botching a word horribly. "Vanya want learn stalk. Tusks no get vanya if stalk ? " * she gently sends the squirrel on it's way , then she would mimic creeping low and moving through the brush "

[Celduil]

Celduil teaches her how to be light on her feet, how to step on terrain which won't leave tracks or noise, how to hide behind (or in) objects in the environment, and how to keep to the shadows and downwind from whatever she is hiding from. He describes everything in elvish as they go, being patient with her when she gets it wrong. When he feels she is ready, he sits in a clearing, and closes his eyes. "I want you to leave and then in a few minutes attempt to sneak up on me," he tells her. "Try your best."

vanya slides on her new shinny ring then looks around her surroundings after walking some distance. She looks back to the direction she came, and looks at the leaves on the trees to see which directions they sway. She came to this spot from the east, so she angled herself west seeing the breeze favored this way, and the dead leaves and sticks on the forest floor seemed less dense here, knowing full well these make noise. Not caring about getting dirty she crouches down to the ground and begins to snake along the earth crawling, using her hands to push gently away any foliage which would make noise and give herself away. slowly she makes her way to the clearing she left her friend in, taking her time, knowing this is not something in which rushing makes one succeed but an act where time is best held still.

[Celduil]

Celduil waits patiently in the clearing listening for Vanya to arrive, his eyes still shut. As he waits he listens to the other sounds audible in the clearing: the chirping of a songbird, the rustlings of a rodent in the brush, the slight breeze among the trees. Enjoying the sunshine he reminds himself he is not here for pleasantries and keeps a tight focus for any sound of Vanya's approach. After a long while his keen ears attune to something which seemed to be shuffling toward him, moving very slowly. Knowing it was too large to be a snake he becomes completely still and listens with interest. The shuffling grows nearer, faint and with very rare sounds of twigs and leaves being crushed. Whatever it is does not carry much weight, but is certainly too large to be any woodland creature. Celduil attempts to imagine Vanya stalking like a cat shuffling on its belly towards him and smiles. He opens his eyes and stares forward.
"Very good, although since you are an elf you would be lighter on your feet than your belly."
He stands and turns to get a good look at her.

[Solarina]

She would get up with a few slugs to be seen gripping her face. " foof foof " is all that comes out her mouth disappointed she was discovered.

[Celduil]

He grins as he sees the slugs sucking at her face and helps her to her feet. "That will do for today. Come seek me out when you wish for your next lesson. I will be at Doron Amar."

[Solarina]

* after hearing some dire news, and her rather recent storm inside herself she goes to seek out cel at the old glade she used to meet him in, and leaves clear signs of her passing *
