Arguably one of Jack's biggest flaws is his average will-power. While his resolve to help others is quite adamant, he often gives in to his many vices more than he should. (Drinking, gambling, womanizing).

While Rakishly handsome, Jack boasts an array of other charms as well. Particularly, he has a strong devotion to helping others and he uses his Bardic abilities to further this desire whenever possible.
Biographical Summary
Jack Artreri was born to a harlot mother who served mainly sailors and pirates. It would come as no surprise when his alleged father abandoned his mother before he was even born. Growing up was difficult for Jack with his mother often working to keep them both fed. As a result of this neither he or his mother ever truly knew a stable home within or outside the city of Baldur's Gate.
Even as a young man Jack was adept at learning new ways to survive, and found that he possessed an uncanny talent for garnering the sympathy and attention of others. However, he never wanted to bend them to his will. In spite of his father's alleged lifestyle, Jack viewed sailors, pirates and all other seafaring men as true believers of freedom. He believed this so much in fact, that he would go on to adopt their unofficial title and make it his own, calling himself a "Gentleman O' Fortune". This of course played well with his devotion to Lady Luck.
As Jack came of age and started adventuring far beyond the farmlands of the city he improved upon his many talents and made far more friends than he ever did enemies; though he rarely stood by while evil work was done. Jack's childhood served often as a grim reminder to him that civilization was flawed, and that governments and Gods alike did not always keep the best interest of their people at heart. It is because of this that Jack bears a certain scrutiny and suspicion of established governments, even questioning the integrity of his own city's leaders in secret.
Jack has grown into an able-bodied and level-headed man (Especially for a thrill-seeking Tymoran), forming a vast network of friendships and other bonds in the past few years of his adult adventuring life. He is not racist of any, but finds the company of particularly hostile humanoids such as gnolls and goblins to be unsettling due to their notoriety. However, he has made peace with some Grey Orcs who showed him kindness when he did not look for it. Jack openly despises evil in all of its visible forms, detesting the act of slavery (Be it physical or magical) above all else.
