The Order of the Silver Rose rp

Haeman leaves the keep to head to the Friendly Arm Inn to gather some more soap for his floor cleaning hobby. He enters to find most of the Order, Mr. Hoihe, a lot of Elves and some of the Radiant Heart speaking to a Fist Officer and a man standing there just behind him. He leans on his cane and listens. Durring the course of the conversation he finds out that the Zhent leader Ambrose had been caught. The Fist guard seemed in his opinion not very clear on what duty was. In the end there was a lot of arguing and the Fist Officers wanted Ambrose to remain inside the Inn. Haeman wonders if the First Leader who survived the Orc attack's words were going to even be any good to convict this man. Not to mention the piles of evidence that had been corrected. He'd faught such people before and their money lined the pockets of almost everyone.

It is decided to have some head to the Dukes and seek an audience and the rest stay outside the inn but watch the door. Haeman walks up to "Bob" (Karl) and pays him 1 thousand gold to keep watch over Ambrose and ensure he makes it to the meeting with the Dukes. With that he heads off following Elvina, Hoihe, and Seth. Unfortunately he is too slow with his cane and in their haste to get to Baldur's Gate he is left behind. He smiles a bit when he looks up noticing he is alone on the road and coughs into his cloth. After some time and meeting Ms. Lilliath they finally catch up to the rest of them outside the Palace.

They are admitted and wait inside a grand waiting area as the nobles, courtiers, and other people bustle around looknig at them only momentarily before going back to their tasks. He continues to lean on his cane not phased that no one noticed he finally came inside and he listens to the Lady who greets them and explains the etiquette of speaking to the Dukes. She tells them that each order of organization may have one speaker and that speaker may bring those of thier order of organization with them. Being sick and no longer on active member of the Order of the Silver Rose, Haeman simply stays where he is when the others are sent in to speak to the Dukes.

After some time Ambrose is brought in and then those who were at the Friendly Arm Inn come in through the mains doors. Haeman meets and greets them and fills them in on what has transpired so far and asked if anything happened. Eventually everyone heads into the main chamber towards the dukes and it is only Haeman and a HalfOrc named Pug who stay behind. Pug looks to Haeman and they both introduce each other in quiet voices. Durring the course of the conversationed Pug decides to talk about his peoples mating rituals which makes Haeman blush and cough uncontrollably for a moment. As he stands there he looks on at all his friends as they speak to the Dukes, so engaged they do not notice he wasn't there. He nods to himself and says farewell to Pug and then heads out the palace doors.........

*Haeman heads back to the Keep and lays there after speaking with Elvina. He heads to the infirmary and lays down coughing over and over until finally, his body gives out, and he passes away.*

Cyrus comes by and hears about Sir Haeman. He speaks with the guards and arranges to have the body transported to the Temple of Lathaner so that it my be laid to rest according to the rights and customs of his order.

*Lady Elvina calls a meeting with all the Knights and Squires this evening 10/25 at the Keep* ((whenever enough of us are online to do so after dinner eastern time

Cyrus returns to his library, and quickly jots down his patrol summary.

Sir Uriel, Lady Gina, Lady Angelina and myself escorted two hins from the FAI to Gullykin this evening. The trip was mostly uneventful, with a couple of beetles and a couple of goblins trying to attack us as we walked.

Once in Gullykin, we looked around the town for defensible points to put in the triage and hospital area. After looking around, we made our decisions, and start to pitch tents and get the area staged and ready for any wounded who might need medical attention.

Once completed, I returned to town to rest and get ready for tomorrow.

*Lady Angelina adds a special note of thanks to Sir Cyrus of the OSR and Sir Juez of the Radiant Heart who graciously scribed many scrolls of raise dead for them and offered several dozen healing kits for the war effort. After it She and Lady Gina seek out Amarven and Luthien to let them know they have arrived to help.*

* Seth accompanies his wife, Elaine and their son, Seth Jr to Baulders Gate. Along with another man who was one of the refugee's in the Abyss. Seth seemed stoic as the four of them walked towards the city. Upon arriving in the city they head to the Docks district where Seth booked passage for all of them, except himself to the city of Neverwinter. As the three of them, Elaine, Seth Jr, and the other man, boarded the boat, Seth was seen to reluctantly shake the man's hand. He then picked up his son and gave him a hug and whispered something in his ear. Seth then turned to his wife Elaine and gave her a polite kiss on the cheek as he handed her a bag of gold, and could be heard to say " If you ever need me you can always call on me, farewell, I wish you a happy life, and may the Gods protect you." *

*Seth then walks slowly home, back to the Keep, alone with his thoughts.*

Cyrus, battered, bloody and weary returns to the keep and sits in the library, his robes in ruins, he pulls out a parchiment and quill and begins to write.

"Tonight the Friendly Arm Inn was attacked by wave after wave or Orcs. Lady Angelina and myself were the only members of the order near by when the the sounds of the attacks were heard. Feeling it was needed we brought five of the Keep Knight Gaurds with us to help devend the Inn.

Lady Angelina, Mendel, Durin Ironfaar, and Pate along with FAI gaurds defended the North side while the Knights, myself, and a group of others defeded the south side. Wave after wave of orcs assailed us though the night, it seemed that it was never ended. We were doing our best to hold the FAI until the Fist could arrive to releive us and secure the area.

Everyone fought bravely and held the area, but in the end, we lost three of our Knights. While Lady Angelina was the ranking Knight, I take full responsibility for the Knights we lost. It was my suggestiong to take four to six of the Knights with us. I have already began the letters to their families. The Commander of the Fist said he would be notifying the Dukes of our losses so they can send monies to the families so they can be taken care of. I had the bodies returned to the keep so they can been cleansed and returned to their homes.

The commander of the Fist recognized us as valued allies, and offered their sympathies for our losses.

The Fist has also commendered the Friendly Arm Inn as their base of opperations until such time as the Orc threat is neutralized. They said that Tolerence is treason as they killed an Orc or Half Orc that happened to be passing by. I think temperment in the area will be changing until the Orc threat has been neutralized.

I may be in a healing trace for most of the day tomorrow as I expended myself greatly with spells in battle, and putting out the fires around the keep after the battle was over. I am sure Lady Angelina will expand upon this log with her own thoughts and observations.

Cyrus sits in the library for many hours after completing his patrol log with a blank parchment in front of him, and a mass of crumpled parchments in the trash.

Sighing, he shakes his head "Nope, not this way....won't do it this way...."

He calls for a page and requests the names and address of the three Knights next of kin and starts to scribe magic on to the blank scrolls in his pack. Once done he heads to the baths, and returns in his best dress uniform.

Picking up the addresses of next of Kin in NeverWinter, and pulls a rune from his pack. He concentrates on the Rune while mumbling the words of magic, and vanishes from sight.

Many, Many hours later he is seen by a page coming down from the roof.....weariness shows in his face, and a sadness that was not present before. Looking for the closest Knight, he says "I am heading to rest, Please inform the Knight Generals and the Commander that the next of kin have been notified in person of the deaths of their family. I could not allow the news to be delivered by one who did not know them, or stand beside them in battle when they fell. They deserve to be told what happened by the one who lead them at the time.

Please let them know I will report to them directly once my fatigue from the teleporting has worn off."

Report of Squire Missy Luckyfoot: During preparations for the defense of Gullykin, a man approached the northern entrance. He was tall, dressed in a black frock, and had a rag covering one eye. He was an older human. His name, I learned, was Jack One-Eyed. As he stood in the center of the entrance, he started to jabber with anyone who would listen. Talked mostly about killed scores of black orcs. As he was in the center of the entrance, I asked him to move.

Thinking he may be hard of hearing, I attempted several more times with to no avail. So, I poked him in the arse with an arrow. I finally got his attention. I explained he was blocking the entrance and asked him to please move. Instead, he said something rather rude, then...he licked me on the head. (I will never get this hair clean again)

From there, things escalated as I asked him to leave. He refused. Laisren and Mendel helped to subdue the man and Sir Juez escorted him to the medical station to make sure he was ok to travel.

*The battle raged long into the night. Lady Angelina cast furiously in the name of Tyr all the spells she had. The last thing she remembered after watching ally after ally drop to the ground, was the last group of Orc Beserkers barreling down upon her... she tried to cast... but they were too much for her... too many. Pain shot through her body like a hot knife through butter... and then.. Darkness took her.

She awoke to a Flaming Fist cradleing her head as she lay on the ground in a haze. He was casting healing magic on her and telling her of the battle and that the remaining Orc fled into the woods. Not yet able to focus her eyes, she looked up at the man in shining armor caringly and for a split second thought he was... someone else. She snapped back to reality when she heard Sir Cyrus voice as he helped her to her feet. She leaned on him as they walked back around the front of the FAI and took in the scope of the carnage that littered the ground. Tears filled her eyes as Cyrus told her of the three Knights who gave their lives honorably in battle to save the others.

Still in pain she stood with the others as the Flaming Fist doled out gold to all the adventurers that risked their lives to drive the foul orc back. She looked down at the gold in her hand, too weary to even refuse it, she bowed to them in thanks for their kind words as they echoed in her ears.

Sir Cyrus helped her back to the Keep, after thanking and bowing to him, she stopped short of the infirmary door noticing the gold still in her hand. She turned around and went back out, the guards helping her to the road. "I can take it from here Sirs, thank you for your aid." She said in her soft spoken voice. She limped to the Temple of Tyr where she knelt before the High Priest offering him the gold she was given and as an attonement of her own will doubleing the amount from her own purse. He blessed her and tried to heal her wounds as she prayed forgiveness for the men and woman who lost their lives that night.

Gaining a bit of strength from the healing, she hobbled back to the Keep and was seen praying on her knees infront of the alter of Tyr, her hands still shaking from the ordeal and tears running down her face from the loss of her brothers in arms. Exhaustion and pain finally taking over, she passed out asleep with her back against the alter on the cold stone floor. *
