Sister Chapter, Parts 1 & 2

Several members of the Order of the Radiant Heart were seen boarding a vessel in the dead of night which was later seen making port in Athkalta, Amn. The knights were seen visiting the Local Chapterhouse of their order in Amn, where they stayed the night.

The following morning, they were seen riding east of Athkalta on freshly watered horses, prepared by a young squire with the look of destiny in his future and glint in his eye.

Several days later, they were seen returning from D'arnise Hold to Athkalta with a prisoner in tow. The man looked unkempt and was garbed in furs, leathers, and other garments indicating he was of the wild. The man was delivered to the Local Temple of Tyr.

After a warm reception at their sister chapters stronghold, the knights ventured to the docks, and set sail on return to the sword coast.

Trial by Fire

There was a disturbance at the Friendly Arm Inn (FAI). The inn Guards were up in arms believing the grounds were being attacked by Manshoon - founder and Leader of the Zhentarim Black network.

Several merchants have begun packing their stalls. Rumors venturing so far as to accuse that the FAI is a Zhentarim Stronghold.

The inn owner, Bently Mirrorshade, has been going to great lengths to dismiss these rumors as ridiculous and unfounded, and the debacle of the Keep getting up-in-arms was merely a misunderstanding over some malicious prank.

Several discounts are given to travelers and caravans over the following days.

Rumors of the court note that an acolyte of Candlekeep was brought to trial accused of being the leader of the Zhentarim Network on the sword coast. The focus of these rumors centers around evidence that was presented of Zhentarim Arms being provided to bandits on the NorthEastern Trade Road, and the accusations of a dead man. The Nobles and Flaming Fist leadership seem to accept the proof of Zhent involvement as definitive.

The accused was acquitted of the accusations. The Duke's determined that despite the damning evidence presented, there was very little implicating the accused of any involvement. The Duke's thanked the accusers for presenting them the evidence of Zhent involvement, but would not condemn the accused, decrying him a scapegoat for a more elusive enemy.

you hear the groaning and creaking of wood...

A boy approached the campfire near the FIA sobbing. When questioned, it appeared he had left his big brother and their friends venture off to some strange sighting off the southern coast of Candlekeep while the father was purchasing books at the Keep. The child stayed behind as he was afraid to go.

The party went south of Candlekeep, and could see a dense gathering of mist on the horizon amid an otherwise clear sky. They chartered a boat and went to investigate.

Visibility was severely diminished once they pierced the mist. The party finally approached a large wooden pontoon, with several small ships docked at it. The pontoon was made of old wood, and the fog was thick. The wood creaked and groaned in the otherwise eerie stillness of the small man-made island. The party investigated.

Two members split from the group... one returned after hearing strange noises. They searched carefully and came upon the missing party member, unconscious on a pier. Something stirred and scuffled away as they approached. Whatever it was, it had been gnawing on the party members leg. They bandaged her up and continued.

Finally they came upon the missing Kids. One was injured, bitten, and the bite was badly infected. A paladin among the group cured the disease and the kids were sent to the boat. The party continued, as one of the kids was still missing on one of the docked ships, where the injured boy was bitten.

The party investigated the ship, when they opened the door, they were confronted by a ghoul, whose clothing matched the description of the missing boy. The ghoul screeched as the party felled it. Then all hell broke loose. Several zombies came out from below deck. More started crawling up the sides of the boat from the water. Realizing they were overwhelmed the party started to flee. Soon Zombies were pouring out of every window, door, and barrel, clawing at the party as they climbed up from the water. They party made a mad dash for their boat. Only two of them made it, being forced to cast-off before their small sailboat was overrun.

The bodies of the other adventurers washed up at shore sometime later...

Merchant Interests

A large Contingent of Knights of the Order of the Silver Rose were seen in Baldur's Gate. They spent a fair amount of time at the Merchants League before departing the city. They appeared visibly upset as they were leaving the city.

No one seems to have any information on the contents of the meetings held within the Merchants League that night.

Black Orc Siege: The Southern Supply Lines

A ranger of Doron Amar approached the Triage Camp at Gullykin giving reports of Orcs having invaded the pass providing supplies to and a means of Retreat from Doron Amar. A small army of Defenders led by Dharasha organized to clear the supply lines.

Through capable scouts and wise tactics, the small army was able to best the Orc forces, which easily out numbered them 2 to 1. The battle culminated with the orcs unleashing a giant war troll. Many hero's fell in the battle, but in the end, the supply lines and route of retreat was secured.

What will this mean for the war?

Black Orc Siege: "Sappers!!!"

Elven warhorns sound! Shouting, from tower to tower. It reaches the defenders at the bridge... A muffled sound a few times, the elves with their keen sense are the first to make it out: "Sappers!!!" A few scouts left the bridge to investigate. A small strike team of elite orcs had entered through the West undetected.

It was a suicide run, but it had served its purpose. Some of the elven supplies were ablaze, and attentions from the bridge had been diverted. A squadron of orcs had already crossed, and those guards left at the gate were already lost. Catapults started raining fire as the defenders fought them back to the bridge. The battle raged through the night. By dawn, reinforcements came from the south to drive out what force remained. The orcs had pulled back. They hadn't taken the bridge, but the defense towers were ablaze, and their forward defenses weakened.

Black Orcs: Strolling in the Woods

Several bold adventurers went into the woods of sharp teeth, brazenly strolling towards the black orc encampment from the West (FAI). A short time later, smoke could be seen rising from the Sharp Tooth woods, the fires below lighting up the canopy so ominously rising into the air. This was accompanied by orcish drumming and chanting.

Several of the realms adventurers found their way to some shady tavern to conduct shady dealings with some shady character. A deal was made... a contract was fulfilled... payment was delivered.

A cadre of Black Archers raided the shallow depths of the Underdark. They came back with heavy casualties.

Of Wisp and Shadow

Reports of will-o-wisps around the FAI have been reported.

Rumors abound that a manifestation of shadow was spotted on the grounds.

Several adventurers investigate.

They trace residue left by shadows to the caves north of the FAI. In the caves they encounter further manifestations of shadow, as well as corrupted blood wisps. They find their way to an ancient ruin deep in the earth, and encounter an old wizard inside, accompanied by a wisp. The wizard informs them that he sent wisps to gather aid. One of his experiments went awry, and it opened a rift into the plane of shadow.

The adventurers are given a diamond and told it is what they need to follow. They go to where the wizard made crude attempts to seal the rift. They fearlessly travel into the plane of shadow, beat back the apparitions, and find the diamonds twin... a shadow gems... far larger than its prime cousin. They fight back several waves of shadow apparitions, and the shadow gems guardian... An angel is summoned through the Prime diamond to aid them...

After the gem lashes out several times at the party, one of the members smashes the gems together and they explode. The party runs for the rift as the shadow plane begins to implode around them.

They return to the wizard, who rewards them, and returns to his experiments.

T.N.T.

Another party hunting Giants fell into a trap left by their shaman. Finding themselves in a cavern filled with aberrations, wisps, and earth elementals. THe party fought its way to what appeared to be a passage heading up, though it was blocked with rubble. Frustrated, they decided to further explore the cave.

They ran into a beholder and its thralls in one set of passages, Where the orc among them was turned to stone. Finally, they found an odd cache of magical scrolls and items in a crater, no owners about... did they belong to the drow? or some other underground denizens?

As they searched through the cache, they were attacked by a great purple worm. They fought back the beast, and found an earthquake scroll among the item cache. The party used the scroll to clear the tunnel, and continued up through the network of caves, until they found themselves on the other side of the cloud peaks.
