Quick question about Transitioning and PVP: Are pursuers allowed to follow through a transition? There was some discussion about it in tells about it and I'd like to clear up any misunderstandings.
All good spirited discussion . . no one is upset or anything! I swear!
Scenario: Person A runs through a transition and Peoples B and C chase. Simple!
Generally, once a person transitions they are assumed to have fled the encounter. Pursuing them is bad form. Instead, you should assume that you have won the PVP by routing them from the field of battle.
For this reason, the PC who fled should do his or her best to avoid you for the next twenty-four hours, as per normal PVP encounter rules. If they rest, buff up, transition back and attack you, as some players are wont to do, then they are breaking the PVP rules by failing to avoid you for the twenty-four hour period and they can be reported to the DMs for the rules violation.
The PVP will almost definitely be ruled null and void at that point, as well.
This rule has the nice side benefit of de facto preventing transition trapping (attacking players before they've loaded into the area) and transition hopping (going in and out of transitions to avoid PVP loss or to seek a PVP advantage), as well. Both of which are also illegal maneuvers.
