En Dharasha Everae: The Great Journey North

Laisren & Saline Ua Tiernan, Pro-consuls of En Dharasha Everae, have gathered all those of their clan to the northern path of Baldur's Gate's farmlands. There the elves gather supplies and prepare arms. Several stalls are set for trade, one such bard calls all travelers over to gather before the goods offered. The dwarves of Helzak offer their services to sell before those coming to see the comotion.

The elves do not offer much but to those of their kin. They have set their course and it will be north to find a rumored village within the Misty Forest. The rumors speak of an evil having taken root within their kin's hearts there and a call for a crusade by many Druids of the forest has been taken up by Dharasha. They have waited for this chance and despite their need for healing their wounds from the Black Orc War, they have decided to move while their is still hope.

They do not know what evil it is that awaits them but they accept all other kin willing to take up this call, to make their home in this forest of the north. They do so out of a sense of loyalty to their kin, to be free from the scrutinies of the southern lands and to offer love to one another in the place of gold and power........

((This Thursday 8pm EST, EDE meeting. The end of our long journey begins, if your an elf of any level and are so inclined, come and join us and become a part of our family :) ))

They gather themselves, build fires, drink, and break bread while sharing the stories of their endeavors in the war and their aspirations for the future. They will soon be ready to undertake the great journey north, to the Misty Forests and their shared destiny. Bards, Rangers, Druids, Fighters, Clerics and even Monks can be seen talking, laughing and singing.

But how many are to join them? This is still yet to be determined until the day of their deliverance from these southern lands. But, what promise do these northern lands hold, not even the leadership of this people truly knows? This wild and untamed land offers freedom but what else? Will they find their kin, will they be taken in, will they be lost and alone, forced to fend for themselves?

They were elves, a people whom had endured great and tragic hardships over many centuries. They were brought together by fate, a longing for freedom, opportunity and kinship which now drives them onto their destiny............

((Tomorrow 11/29 8pm EST, at the Eastern Farmlands, we hope to see all elves interested in making a new home within the northern lands :) ))

The Pilgrimage

--- The Pilgrimage

The cold evening carried a hint of the north's bite. Faint sounds from her kins' preparations jingled nearby. Leaving the camp Elethineth walked through the meadow’s high grasses to a small knoll. There she waited for moonrise and considered the journey of En Dharasha Everae to the Misty Forest.

She looked up seeing the stars brighten and emerging brighter and brighter as the sky’s blue darkened into dusk’s dark purple. She gazed to the north where Ieryn blazed it’s nightly beacon. For some Ieryn is called instead the North Star or the Sailor’s Star. On cloudless nights sailors and others would use it to navigate and find their destinations safely. She turned her gaze from one landmark in the night sky to another.

“Y’tellarin, the Far Star.” Tonight it was again the center of her thoughts and prayers. Y’tellarin was there among the other stars yet somehow it seemed nearer thane before. It’s sparkle hinted of majestic beauty and transformation. A journey is like that, she thought. Destinations always seem distant at first, but then come more fully into one’s vision as it is realized. En Dharasha Everae was like that she thought, a vision and destiny of the people soon to be realized.

The Journey to the Misty Forest would be a long journey. Scouts would be pathfinding. Defenders would be patroling their for perimeter. The leaders would be calling back and forth across the group organizing them. Priests would be visiting all and praising them with with the Seldarine’s blessings. Musicians would be singing songs to lighten their steps. Druids and naturalists would be shepherding them in the wilds. Diplomats would be engage in liason those they might meet.

The Journey would require every skill in the community and then some.

Indeed, it would be a pilgrimage. The community would demonstrate its’ strengths and weaknesses. And individually the people of En Dharasha Everae would be transformed as each fulfilled their own personal pilgrimage.

Bathed in the light of the risen moon Elethineth lifts her eyes to "Y’tellarin, the Far Star”. After a lengthy vigil, as dawn lightened the eastern sky she turned to watch her kin greet the morning. She began a prayer, “Goddess, illuminate this community with your guidance. Help our spirits be strong in the coming tests. We have a far destination and a long journey to reach the Misty Forest and create a community of majestic beauty. Transform us as we struggle to overcome the many obstacles before us. Bless us with your wisdom and grace us with the protection of the Seldarine.”

So their journey began, by the strength of trained Rangers, the blessing of Priestesses, the protection of wizards and finally ending in the songs of bards. They cut their way through the hill country, through fiercely territorial bugbear war parties and past the treacherous bandits of the great River Boareskyr. There were grizzled veterans of the Amnian and Black Orc Wars amongst them. There were also those whom came simply to make a new home, fresh faced, carrying little more than arrows, courage and the hope they wore upon their sleeve.

It was quite the sight and Laisren could scarce believe what he was witnessing. It was as if the dreams and stories that his mother once told to him had finally been realized. He had always been a clever child and knew when his elders would speak to him of childrens stories, and so he believed the same of her stories of the once great elves. Yet, when they stopped and gathered by the new northern camp, he could scarce hold in his pride.

The young Bardess Bainwen even picked up her lute and began to sing and to his surprise, Laisren had to grin. He watched as his best and perhaps only friend Mendel spoke with the ever blooming love of his young elven life, the Wild Druidess Nai. Laisren looked around him and he saw what could be a great family but then he saw the Druid Ebreth and his companion the Ursa, the boar. He saw how they looked sadly to one another and did not join the the merriment.

Laisren remembered that while Dharasha was just coming into being, this one and the world he knew was being torn asunder. He remembered this feeling for he felt it the whole of his life, until he met the love, Saline of the High Moor. Laisren resolved himself to do what he knew must be done. He took them to the perilous High Moor, to remind everyone what they fight for and what may await the Misty Forest should they fail.

Still, for the second time in his life, Laisren has hope........

Luthien stood in an isolated spot inside the encampment, simply watching at each one of the elves and friends gathered there. Her memories slowly drifted towards the beginning times, when just five elves were kicked out of a corrupt village, only because they had dared to tell the truth.

She remembered quite well their will to remain there and fight for Doron's survival, parting ways only after the war had finished. An offer that was denied to them, until the day when one of the Councilors, perhaps the only one not jaded by power, begged them for their help.

She remembered quite well the lies the councilors of Doron spread, regarding her and her friends abandoning the village in its time of need.

She remembered quite well all the battles she went through during the War, battles that left their marks in her body as well as mind.

Yet, those days were part of the past. She was deeply immersed into the present, in company of her lover Elethineth, Laisren, Saline, Mendel, his mate Nai, Tan the monk, Aomir the rogue, Dralzar the druid, Aust and many more. Indeed, the group had flourished in the past months. She could not help but rejoice at the idea that there still were elves wanting to live as elves.

All of them were united under one banner: a place to call home, a place in which to live according to the true elven way. No backstabbing, no orc hugging, no disrespect towards the gods that created the Fair Folk long ago. A community of brothers and sisters in blood. The journey and the task will surely be difficult, but Luthien had faith in the group's compactness and capabilities. And having the Seldarine looking favorably at them did not hurt.

And so, didst the grizzled priestess, veteran of countless battles, simply stay idle and isolated from the rest of the elves. Looking at each one of them, thinking about the long journey to the north that would have soon awaited her people, she could not help but smile - out of happiness for having seen her people united without internal squabbles for the first time in many months, and a quiet sense of pride for her choice in friendships.

As they are all gathered, making final prepataration for the journey to Misty Forest Mendel has time to reflect upon the events that occured after the Black Orcs were pushed back from Doron Amar. Since then, he had plenty of time to rest and do the things he likes most, patrol sourrounding areas and enjoy the pleasures of life.

Things are looking good for En Dharasha Everae now. They are about to move to their new home, alliances are stronger, new elves want to join their ranks and old ones came back after a long period of absence. Things are looking good for him too. There are new opportunities for him, some new friends are made but most importantly he met Nai, a feral Elf that already has a big impact on his life.

As he sits there and enjoys this quiet period of his life, he cant help but think about the troubles that are ahead of them. What will they come upon in Misty Forest, are the Black Orcs trully defeated, why did the Zhentarim attack Doron Amar after the orcs were away... While thinking all this he looks at the faces of those they started this journey with, Laisren, Saline, Elethineth, Luthien, Dral and those that joined them afterwards Nai, Elbreth, Aust, Lomir, Aomir, Durin, Amarven and the others.... Looking at them he realizes how close they all came to be and for the first time he feels... fear. Fear of what they can lose if things go wrong.

He havent felt that way since the time he was travelling alone with noone close to him to worry about. Looking at Nai who always stays on his side he remembered something she said to him

"Mendel's pack... strong together"

These simple words from a feral elf who doesnt know a thing about laws, orginization and politics are still echoing in his mind. These words give him the strength and courage to move forward despite the risks, because if they all are together nothing can trully defeat them...
Mendel - Villi of En Dharasha Everae | Nikos Berenicus - Initiate of the Mirari | Efialtes Rodius - Blood Magus | Olaf Garaeif - Dwarven Slayer
