*Two notes arrive from starlings...one lands upon Phelan's shoulder, the other upon Faerynn's...the notes are identical, but the names*

Faerynn/Phalen,

Your time walking the Path of Seeker comes near an end. You have both shown all that the Circle requires in it's members who walk and protect the Land.

You have but one remaining task, you are to find me as soon as your able to complete it.

I'd prefer to you both do this together, but seperate can be arranged.

((Depending on timing and RL concerns of course. If we can get time down for both you to be together, I'll run small event. If not, I'll log on Galen'ael and will do it standard it if it becomes necessary, either way you've both done a great job, congratulations!! But, you still have to take the Oath to be administered by me to finish. I want to shoot for this coming Friday night for a mini event..my net should fixed enough to handle my Client by then. Send my your availbility in PM for Friday night, I'm in Pacific Time. I'd really like to do event for your iniations.))

Find me when you are able and may the Lady and the Father watch over you both.

*Faerynn sends a note to Keeper Galen'ael*

A large raven lands on the ground right in front of Galen'ael, a note in its beak. He drops it on the ground and quickly flies away.

Keeper Galen'ael, I received your note just this evening. It made me glad to read it. This road has been a long one, but also one that has brought me closer to Nature and showed me more about who I am and how I may serve the Lady and the Father. I look forward to meeting you again soon and completing this long quest to become a Keeper.

May the Lady and Father watch over you and keep you safe.

*Faerynn, flying in the form of a large raven, scans the hillsides from high above. He enjoys the freedom of flying through the skies as well as the view from high above. This is just two days before he was to meet Galen'ael for his ceremony into the Keepers of the Elder Circle. Memories flooded his mind now as he thought back on his induction ceremony into the Shadow Circle. His Master would be proud as he was finally taking on a more important role within his local community and with an organization who held power and influence over the people and wildlands of the area. The Shadowmaster believed it very important for his disciples to become involved in the local communities to better control their actions in the lands about them. He was particularly fond of the members of his Inner Circle attaining positions of power within the political structure of the surrounding towns and municipalities to sway decisions that would adversely affect the Balance of Nature. Faerynn thought on this long as he flew over head and realized that he too needed to gain influence within the community of Baldur's Gate... and becoming a Keeper was the first step, but he needed a spot on the Council within the Keepers. Most of all, though, he needed patience. Time will bring about all these things. He was elven, and had much time.*

As Faerynn thought on these things he noticed a small pillar of smoke rising from the hills. He flew down to investigate. It seemed the Hill Giants were active and had destroyed a traveling merchant caravan. It seemed from the bodies that this caravan was a family traveling south of Beregost and Nashkell. What they were doing out here he did not know, nor did he care, as thoughts began to flash in his mind of the slaughter of his own family, save Elohir, by the orcs in the High Forest. Women and children died at their hands, just as the Hill Giants too had killed the women and children of this small caravan. A look of rage overtook the visage of Faerynn and an evil light came into his eyes. Something inside him flipped and vengeance was his only thought. He scanned the area to see which way the hill giants had gone, and tracking them was not hard as they are either careless, or could care less, about hiding their tracks. Faerynn changed into a wolf and quickly began to track their progress. They were a day out and he moved quickly attempting to catch them by night fall. He finally arrived at their location in the dark of night, eight of them, sitting around a large fire as they cooked their dinner of who-knows-what. A large group to say the least and these hill giants hit hard. But wait, there were four more off in the distance... perhaps a scout group or just separated at this time. Twelve altogether. Faerynn smiled as he thought to himself, “That family's blood is on your hands dear Hill Giants... and your blood will be on my hands.” He had something special planned for them, something especially painful. Something that he had recently learned that through pure negative force sucked the life essence from their bodies, destroying their souls, and then feeding that life energy into himself. A spell more suitable for a Necromancer than a Druid. Faerynn slowly put his mask on and became Mauglir, a devil in his own right in how he dealt with those who wronged him. He pulled his dark hood up and his eyes lit up again with pure anger as he slowly and boldly strolled into the midst of the hill giants. They all stood up instantly as they watched him stroll into their midst, his face obscured by the mask and hood, but his eyes flashing red in the firelight. Confusion and anger clouded their faces as they each growled and entered into their own rage of lust for blood and battle. As they growled for his blood and raised their clubs to strike him down, Mauglir slowly chanted the words of his most powerful spell. In an instant the area flashed with a blood red light and a pulse of negative energy rushed out from him, negative energy that created more than darkness, but seemed to BE darkness; it's own unlight. Fear gripped the Hill Giants, but only for a moment. For in that moment death came upon them. Their growls and cursing became howls of pain as their life force left them and flowed into Mauglir, his face contorted with pleasure as he absorbed their life essence. And in that moment it was over. Eight hill giants fell to the ground dead, blood seeping from their closed eyes. Mauglir's head was bowed as he looked into the firelight knowing his enemies were dead. Then he slowly looked at the four who had walked away from the main group, his eyes flickering with the firelight. Their faces were filled with rage as they witnessed the death of their group and they charged. “Fools,” he thought as he prepared his next spell, Mass Drown. He chose this spell because it was especially painful and left the enemy in excruciating pain as they gasped for air while he prepared the final blow. He released the spell at them while they were running towards him, expecting, he thought, to crush his skull with their clubs. Of course, that never happened as their lungs instantly filled with water. They were stopped in their tracks grasping their throats and choking up water. Mauglir smiled and cast his final spell, something he has always been partial to. The final words of the incantation left his lips and an arc of lightning coursed through their bodies sending them to the ground, twitching and convulsing as the last remnants of electricity left their bodies. Smoke rose as the smell of burnt flesh filled the air. Mauglir looked around for more Hill Giants to take out his bloodlust on, but he saw none. He knew they were there though and began to cast another enchantment, one questionable for a Druid. He closed his eyes as he finished the words of the spell and his body shifted shape into a huge Horned Devil, long claws pushed through his skin as the shapechange finished; sharp as razors and obsidian black. Blood dripped from their tips. A low, guttural growl emanated from him as he stood there. His eyes slowly opened and they glowed red in the night. Mauglir the Dark was on the hunt.

As leaves rustle on the ground from a light breeze, Elohir sits by a smoldering fire he had lit the night before. This is the morning after his brother Faerynn's induction into the Keepers. It's a cool morning as Elohir is far north of the Gate area. As he stares at the rising smoke of the burning coals, he imagines himself back at thunder peak mountains. He thinks to himself, How long has it been since he has been to the falls? He was only a boy when he and Faerynn left the High Forest. Now, here on the sword coast, his brother is now a member of the Keepers.
Elohir jots some words on a piece of parchment, "congradulations brother, you have gained a new family, and the Keepers a new brother."
It's a simple message, but one that he is sure his brother will appreciate since he was unable to attend the ceremony. He attaches the message to the foot of a hawk, and tells the hawk to deliver the message to his brother.
Elohir watches as the hawk flies off into the distance, then prepares his bow for combat, for it is the banites that he hunts.
It was only two days ago, that he aided Captain Justin Crownsilver and Barvok Harrow in the death and capture of Rai Kuu. It is unknown at this point if she is a banite, but it is fact that she consorts with known banites.

Elohir holds his arm out for the hawk to land on. He takes the note and reads it. He smiles as he reads the information of Aloria, as she is now a Seeker. He continues to read the note and wonders of this new darkness. He realizes he must return to the grove and speak with Keeper Galen'ael. He jots down a note for the Keeper and ties it to the foot of the hawk. It was a quick note that says, 'Keeper Galen'ael, I am two days travel away to the north, but I am in route back to the grove to speak with you as you read this.' Then Elohir sends the hawk do deliver the message, packs up all of his equipment, and begins his journey south, back to the grove.

*Calen walks the route from Baldur's Gate to Beregost, Tsali at his side.

*The wolves remain on the rampage in the lands just south of the Farmlands. Several are found there attempting to keep their numbers in check as Calen/Tsali pass thru.

*The gnolls and ogres continue to attack passers by sporadically as evidenced by the corpse that Calen/Tsali happen upon near the old buildings in the land the gnolls frequent.

*Continuing south, Calen/Tsali find two more corpses apparently bushwhacked by goblins. Near the Shrine of the Lady, the goblins attack Calen in ambush. They soon realize the folly of their endeavours, as the 5 goblins are dealt with quickly. With Tsali's fangs & claws and Calen's zinging arrows, soon all the goblins lay dead.

*Calen approaches the statue of Mielikki with bowed head and quiet reflection. He speaks softly in sylvan, "Well met again, my Lady."
After a few moments of solitude, Calen lifts his head and says, again in sylvan, "Help me, my Lady, to be an extension of your presence in this place." Calen and Tsali then move off in the direction of Beregost.

*Faerynn wakes from his meditation with a hawk perched in front him. The hawk drops a note to the ground and quickly flies away*

Faerynn smiles as he reads the note from his brother Elohir. "Things are progressing well," he thought. "I should meet with Elohir when he returns. We need to talk to this Aloria and prepare her for her next trials. I believe things will only get worse."

*Faerynn runs his hand over the smooth black feathers of the raven sitting next to him and looks into the sky. The clouds were breaking up now and the temperature getting cooler.*

"The darkness is coming..." he says to himself in a hushed whisper. "The darkness is coming."

Elohir steps foot onto the tradeway just outside the Gate. As he makes his way to the grove, he stops for some provisions at Maltz's shop, and some food and drink at one of the local taverns.

He continues his journey along the trade way to the grove and takes notice that there seems to be more wolves, gnolls and goblins present as he traveled the tradeway.

It appears the numbers of the Walkers of the Forest Way have grown thin. He realizes now the reason for the note that Galen'ael has sent.

Elohir kneels before the shrine of Mielikki and meditates for a short period of time. He then prays to the Lady. He asks that she grant wisdom and vision to all those of the Rangers of Mielikki and to the Keepers.

Elohir stands up and bows to the Lady and makes his way to the grove. He thinks to himself; It is only a matter of time before all the members of the grove have gathered together to meet with Keeper Galen'ael to hear what he has to say.
