Lady Elvina and Sir Sigel,
I am writing to inform you of one William King that is travelling from Neverwinter with the intent of joining your ranks. He has served in the Neverwinter Guard for a number of years now and has proved to be one of our most well-grounded and valiant soldiers. His reasons for leaving Neverwinter are based off of personal circumstances and I recommended that he seek work with you. I am fully confident that he would make great contributions to your labors and I hope he may find room in your ranks.

I arrived at Baldurs Gate a few days ago, and after I have been relaxing and trying to regain strength in the city, i set out to see where it actually was I had arrived, when I overheard someone talk about an OSR keep near FAI. I then set out to find the keep, and I have now arrived. So I am leaving this note with this guard here, so you know that I am no longer gone.

[The Mirari]

...the Mirari have seen the inner workings of a great temple of evil, and found a most disturbing situation. A large pool of blood, guarded by two ferocious and ill-tempered gargoyles, hell bent on destruction of all those that would disturb this foul place of foulness.

The Temple lay in what is called the Fields of the Dead, north of the great city of Baldur's Gate. There, in that field, in that temple, a horde of undead priests, mummy lords and many creatures of necro-magic doth reside. If you are not as yet aware of it's existence, we Mirari do wish to pass on to you the immediate knowledge that even disturbs us, those that walk between the light and dark, with hands outstretched into both domains.

In this temple, at it's deepest reaches, did we encounter the guardians of this pool of blood—obviously collected for sacrificial purposes—and furthermore, a secret that we the Mirari doth feel concerns your Orders directly...and that to keep balance, you must know the full extent.

With the guardian gargoyles defeated, we Mirari did scour this room for knowledge yearning to be free from foul captivity, and in doing so, came upon a chest most well protected.

Inside, after considerable strain upon our magics, we did find a powerful, divine scroll of the most holy to paladins—that of Draconic Might.

We Mirari did surmise that, whatever necro-magic undead powered forces worked in this temple, sought to infuse or unlock the holy paladin's might and weave it into their own powers. A metamorphosis of such holy, good powers to enact evil does tip the scales...something even we Mirari can not let abide.

Therefore, we send you this warning, and share this knowledge freely with you and yours, so that as your calling demands it, you may take action to instill that the holy powers of your chosen gods are kept in the portfolio that is proper.

And know this further: the Mirari always watch the streams that carry reason and wisdom, collecting that which does not yet have form but powers all that we find useful in the arcane. Shall you be in need of services such as ours in future times, simply speak aloud the words scribed at the end of this scroll...and we will arrive to take witness to your query.

William King records in the Patrol Log about a potential threat from an individual named Akurion. He writes of how the man appeared behind him while he was walking and put a sword in his face and threatened to cut his tongue out for being a paladin. William King explains in the report that Akurion wears a purple hood and chain mail with purple cloth. He ends the log by saying: I wanted to make the Order aware of his behavior just in case one of us encounters him in the future - all will be prepared and not be caught off guard.

A page arrives at the OSR keep from Baldur's Gate. Captain Norton of the Flaming Fist has requested the presence of any knights who are able to ride out.

*Lady Laura reads the note and tells the guards that she will be heading to baldurs gate to see what all this is about*

William King walks stiffly to the OSR headquarters and appears exhausted. Despite his fatigue he has a look of urgency on his face. Not able to find anyone present he writes a letter in shaky handwriting for all Order members to see.

Many black orcs still remain in this area. While in the Woods of Sharpteeth I came across a large number of them while with a band of dwarves. We fought off three full waves. An elf tracker appeared and found tracks that an even larger group was nearby to the north. We returned to the Friendly Arm for reinforcements. The black orcs remained evasive but are still a major threat and are lurking around in the woods east of the Friendly Arm.

A cat brings a letter to the Order of the Silver Rose Keep.


"Large amounts of black orcs are headed north. Do make your patrols there wary, they seem to be going for the River Chiontar and other northern regions." it writes.

* Lady Elvina sends a note back to Captain Norton acknowledging the request and letting him know of our many endevours throughout the lands that has had our Knights tied up at the moment. As well as the planned aid today at 6 pm (eastern) to help our friends of the Druid Circle with The Song of the Trees ritual that will renew the forest and help repair the damage and destruction of the land caused by the Black Orcs. She then goes on to say those Knights that are available before or after that event today will report to the Flaming Fist Headquarters to heed the call.

She also posts a copy of the missive as well as her orders to the available Knights and Squires to get in contact with each other and report to the Flaming Fist Headquarters, also including a reminder of the Song of the Trees ritual today at 6 pm (eastern). *

NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE SILVER ROSE

Please take note, we have received reports of Black orcs in the woods of Sharpteeth. It is reported that there are many tracks leading to the North. Although these may be tracks of stragglers of the main force that were pushed in that direction. We do not have the luxery of being careless. It is therefore ordered when traveling thru said woods, extreme cautrion is to be utilised. Any sightings of ANY Black Orcs is to be immediately reported. Do not engage unless traveling innocents, or your own being is in imminent danger.

A runner delivers a letter to the Silver Rose keep. It reads:

Dear All Members of the Silver Rose,

Thank you for your participation within the druids' Song of the Trees holy ritual to Silvanus. It is my pleasure to inform you because of your aid, any potential crisises were averted. The ritual ran smoothly and the forests are now significantly restored from their previous state thanks to your efforts to protect the druids. It was also a pleasure to meet some of your newer members as well.

May Silvanus clear your paths from obstructions,

Sir Rand the Quartermaster for the OSR was seen limping towards the Keep yesterday grumbling about Shadows and just being downright ornery, stopping at the guards out front nearly biting off Sir Harry’s head when asked where his key was. “Open the damned door or you can have cold supper tonight !” He’d left the Keep to do some trading at the Auction and left his key in his room it seemed. “Ok! Ok! you don’t have to go all Aggro on me bro”, Sir Harry said letting him in.

The other guards giving the old retired dragon slayer a wide birth as he limped towards the infirmary yelling about an attack at the FAI with some "Damned Shadows, an Oathkeeper, someone named Blackmore and a young whippersnapper with blond hair that needs to be put over someone’s knee.”

After being healed and bandaged by Sister Mary Katherine, the High Clerist of Ilmatter in the infirmary, they reported him to have calmed down after being seen sharing some ales with the non-paladin, off duty Knights around the bar and telling old stories of times gone by from his younger days. All of which started out with “Well when I was your age…”
