My wizard is getting close to being able to take his first Epic Spell. And it is also the first time I have ever taken an Epic Spell feat. I have narrowed it down to two that I want to take. Vampiric Feast and Epic Gate. I understand the mechanics and strength of Vampiric Feast, but Epic Gate is a mystery to me. Is it a spell worth taking? How strong is the Balor?
If anyone has a screen shot of the Balor I would greatly appreciate it . I just don't want to take the spell and then be underwhelmed. I read that Augment Summon does not affect the Balor either, so I am a bit worried and nervous.
Thank you for any insight and help

To be honest, don't bother with epic gate. Regular gate is just as good, if not better.
A beefed up version of epic gate has not been sanctioned yet.

Do DMs agree with Epic Gate be used like a normal Gate spell, but more effective? Particularly interesting in planar travel involving events..

If they are, it is probably just either going to disregard certain things that would hinder regular gate, or that you can maintain it open for longer periods of time, or that you need not concentrate to maintain it open.

Can someone confirm if you can summon anything other than fiends with Gate and Epic Gate? Judging by this thread, it seems that you can only summon fiends, but in another thread, someone told me that you can summon stuff based on your alignment, e.g. angels for good-aligned folk like my main character.
