His lips curls into a broad grin as he takes another step towards the crowd gathered. He inclines his head at the two guards standing at his sides, and begins walking to the little platform his servants had built. The crowd steps to the side letting the drow pass, those to slow too move away are pushed away by the huge guards accompanying the Pit Master.
As he steps up on the platform, which is no more than ten inches above the ground, he signals for the guards to take their position as he prepares to address the crowd.
Do you possess the necessary skill? are you ruthless enough to kill your opponent -even- when he begs for mercy? are you so unafraid that you can stare death in the eye, and still fight until EVERY BIT OF STRENGHT YOU HAD IS GONE? then -perhaps- you have what it takes to become my new champion.
I have brought all my champions and beasts with me, and we have now come to Sshamath to see if any of you have the strength to compete in the Pit. Seek me out and we shall see if this city was worth the trip, or if you all are as pathetic as i heard you were before i came here? Wizards who spend their days studying books rather than battle the beasts that crawl in the tunnels outside your city, WIZARDS should HONE their skills through VICTORY, not through completing another chapter in some book! Stops and glances over crowd of people present, and then scoffs loudly
And warriors who are the servants to these wizards, perhaps you have even forgotten what it is like to swing that sword at a REAL enemy? perhaps your sword arm is as dull as that sword? It is time to sharpen your sword and awaken your sword arm.

Spectator fee: 250 gold pieces (This is to watch the battles)
Rules
1) No healing potions or consumables of any sort is allowed to be used in the ring, nor is it allowed to consume any that has grants a continued positive effect BEFORE entering the pit. Those who break this rule will be banned from the pits for all time.
2) The matches are to the death, there is no such thing as yielding. The challenger has to kill his opponent, if he refuses, he is banned from the pits for all time.
3) if someone wants to pair up, then they are free to do so. (Max 3 players can team up and level difference between the highest and lowest level should be NO MORE than 5 levels) A team can together become champions, but they will be team champions, which is separate from the single champion.
4) The fee is to be paid BEFORE entering the Pit, or for the spectators before any match starts.
5) Each challenger will have to survive for five rounds in the pit, before he can challenge the current champion. This goes for the team challenge as well.
6) If a player were to become the new champion, then he is obligated to fight any challenger that proceeds as far into the Pit that he -can- be challenged. If he looses then he must surrender his title and item. (Champion item) Same goes for if a paired team manages to advances far enough to challenge the champion team.
7) The contestants can only equip items given to them by the Master of the pit. There are NO exceptions.
8) Betting is of course a common practice among the spectators, and something the Master of the Pit encourages. But if there is disagreements about a bet and aggression ensues, then the party involved will be tossed out of the pits and will be barred from entering for ten days.
