Habits/Hobbies: Tolerius is a simple man with simple tastes. He loves good food and he knows how to cook a good food himself with only a camp fire and basic tools. “The trick to cook a rabbit is how is made. It can’t be well done and it can’t be raw. Well done outside and pink inside is the key. To master it, cooking needs to be a part of you… One of the characteristics, which defines you. To enjoy it, you have to belong to the group of people who live to eat, not who eat to live.” he says to people whom he meets at their campfire during their travels. He also loves socializing with people although it might be because of his excessive lonely times in the wilderness.
Hunting is not only his job but it is also his passion. He takes his time with the game, analyzes it and even builds a bond with it. When the time is right, he gets the attention of the game before he shoots his arrow, so that the prey can see who killed him. His bow is swift and he gives his prey almost always a quick and painless death. Hunting a deer always makes him sad. Such elegant creatures with the prettiest eyes in the whole Faerûn … Skinning the hunt is the hardest part for him. It is when that built bond has to go away. In wilderness, there is only one rule: The Survival of the Fittest. It always has been and always will be. That is what he strongly believes in.
He also loves to watch druid rituals of the wood elves who raised him. He sees that strong communication with the nature, the one he always wanted, the one he will never have. It was always a fascinating mystery to him how one can have such a strong bond with the lands, with the nature, with balance and with harmony.
Languages: Common, Elvish
Weapon of Choice: Longbow and Longsword
Background: His story is not a rare one for Faerûn. His parents belonged to a group of travelers, who were slain by Orcs as he was two years old. Wood Elves from Moonwood, Silver Marches found him and raised him. As he was seven years old, he realized that he neither had pointy ears like his friends, nor the almond shaped eyes. That was when he realized he was different that he wasn’t an elf. Aurilia, his Godmother (Druid 12) told little Tolerius the truth of what happened and how he got the last name Agar'Nost bloodborn, born in blood in Elvish. It made him sad at first but he also liked the idea of being unique.
Aurilia was a role model to him. That is why he also wanted to become a druid himself. Aurilia started willingly his training and young Tolerius gave his best to learn the most from her. After two years of training Aurilia told young Tolerius that she could not teach him how to become a druid because the only way she knew was the way of the wild elves and how they communicate with the nature, which he could never understand. Although the news saddened him, it also relieved him from his frustrations, caused by no progress in his training. With the age of 14 he started to hang out with Daph´ne, who was training to become a Ranger. He followed her everywhere and tried to learn how to become a Ranger. He was very promising, for he had the very quick wits and reflexes, which even some elves didn’t have. Daph’ne’s father and her teacher Dak’thon also saw talent in young Tolerius and took him as his new apprentice.
After six years of intense training he finally became a Ranger. During that time he and Daph’ne also got closer and they fell in love.
Time was passing nicely and slowly for Tolerius. He was in love with a wonderful elven woman and was there where he belonged, in the forests of Silvermoon. However, he began to realize something. He was getting older but the love of his life wasn’t. He was 23 as he had epiphany, which changed his life from ground: He was a mere mortal. He was going to age and die at the end and Daph'ne was going to live through it... Through sorrow and despair of losing the one she loved the most. He couldn't do that to her. He loved her too much for that. He could not live there without having the sweet warmth of Daph'ne either so he decided to leave everything behind and leave.
Tolerius started to travel east to find himself a place he could call home. For the past five years he traveled through the Evermoors, Lurkwood and Neverwinter Wood. He spent a little time in Neverwinter to familiarize himself with his own kind, humans. He realized their way of living in Neverwinter deviated too much from what he used to and wasn't able to feel home so he continued his journey to south, through Waterdeep, Misty Forest, the Troll Claw and finally arrived to Baldur's Gate. He was fascinated with the size of the city and the beauty surrounding it. He had a strange feeling that perhaps he could settle here and start a new life, that these lands could be his new homeland. He wasn't planning to stay in the city. No! Tolerius loved wilderness way too much to be able to live in a city. He needed to find a forest in the surrounding area to settle. Nevertheless the warm feeling of this city was in his heart and he was definitely visit the city occasionally. This is where his new story starts...
Goals: Tolerius is a confused person who has problems with his identity. He was raised by Elves and yet he isn't one of them. He tries to learn the way humans live but they see him different because he has cultural differences. He behaves like an Elf. He wants to live like a human, learn from his surroundings. He also swore never to fall in love with an elf again. He is trying to settle down and he loves the surrounding areas of Baldur's gate. So he will probably travel around to find the most suitable place for him to settle down, protect the roads and woods against evil and help travelers through their journeys.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: He could learn that his real parents were from Baldur's Gate and some important people (Perhaps this fact is also the explanation of the strange attraction to Baldur's Gate, his real home). He could have relatives who still lives in Baldur's Gate and his parents could have been murdered because of something important. Perpetrator could also be living in Baldur's Gate.
Another Plot-Hook is that Daph'ne could track him to Baldur's Gate and find him there. She could tell him that his parents were from Baldur's Gate through some papers his parents carried with them. She could help him to search for his origins and reveal a conspiracy.
He will lose a companion to a deathly trap and realize that he needs to train in Rogue ways to prevent something like that ever happening again. He will search for the best Rogue in Baldur's Gate for that reason and perhaps even become friends with him/her. (4 Levels of Rogue)
He will realize that archery is not enough to survive, that he needs to learn how to fight efficiently with a melee weapon. He will search for a mentor to teach him ( a Fighter he will take 5 levels)
Edit:
Erased Weapon Master after seeing the ridiculous amount of melee feat requirement and rearranged the Class development as Ranger(21)/Rogue(4)/Fighter(5)
