This evening I was travelling from the Friendly Arms Inn to Beregost to on an errand. Along the road I came across a large group of individuals: three gnomes, a human, as well as a hell-hound, a large elemental, a lizardfolk and what looked to be an orc. They tried to extort me for money for keeping the roads safe. I informed them that such would not be the case. One of them summoned a devil then three of them attacked. The battle was quick but bloody, Torm judged each of them mightily. The surviving gnome had a more level head and sought to speak, wishing to aid his friends who had just paid with their lives. I informed him I would not assist in recalling their souls, but would not stop him as they already paid for their sins with their lives. I then told him the best he can do to help them is to urge them to get off this dark path they walk.

*Lady Elvina, hearing the rumors of the Paladin's horrendous treatment, immediately posts on the bulletin board for all the Knights and Squires to read and stating this will be one of the topics at the meeting tonight at 7pm (est)*

A renowned traveling paladin of Torm, Sir Thomas Rothwild, was rumored to have taken up temporary residence in the town of Soubar, allegedly to investigate reports of Zhentarim activity in the northern regions and to protect the town from menace. Not long after, the light of morning cast over the small village revealed Sir Thomas's decapitated head impaled on his Holy Avenger sword not far from the tavern in the center of town, an amulet of Bane dangling out of the head's open mouth. There was no sign of his squire and investigators would find his tent within the town's walls totally ransacked.

*Upon returning to the Keep from the Temple of Torm, Uriel falls asleep praying deep into the night before the altar of Torm. Still in full armor covered in blood and gore, he sleeps slumped on the floor.*

*After getting cleaned up herself, the spirits constantly whispering in her ears, Elvina goes to check on Uriel. Finding him slumped on the floor infront of the alter, she asks Seth to help her get him cleaned up and into his bed so he can rest.*

*Upon hearing how Elvina found Uriel, Seth immediately goes to help him make his way to his room. Upon finding him he helps Uriel stand, throws Uriels arm over his shoulder and walks him up the stairs and to Uriels room.*

*Elvina grabs some clean cloths and water from the infirmary and heads up to Uriel's room after the two. She looks at the bloody, exhausted Paladin and begins cleaning him up as Sir Seth begins to remove his armor.* He's going to be cleaning his armor for a week *she tries to make light of the situation, then stopping to look at Seth in the eyes with a serious tone* We have to do something about that vile taint in that land. *he can hear the worry in her voice* What happened to Sir Thomas could have happened any one of us. *She pauses still looking at him and thinking of her own words with a shudder then looks back to Uriel wiping his face and hands*

William leaves a letter describing his meeting with representives of Doron Amar

I have met with Celasorsan and Eo of Doron Amar. We met at the Friendly Arm Inn and had a productive discussion concerning the details of Doron Amar. From this discussion we will have gained an understanding of their organization, their allies, their enemies, and their military capabilities. I will be organizing the information they gave me into a more presentable fashion and will ensure the Knights will be able to have it for reference and review. They expressed great desires to strengthen ties with the Order. They also proposed the question of opening up trade between our groups.

I have returned from my assignment to investigate heavy banditry south of Beregost. The problem ended up being a large group of xvarts who had made camp a few miles west. I coordinated with a Radiant Heart agent working out of Beregost and together we took care of the xvart problem. However, in my travels in the south I also encountered a very dangerous creature. It is called a Jalirith. It is a massive lion enshrouded in flames. It is extremely quick and has been terrorizing farmers' cattle and people moving along the tradeway south of Beregost. I and a few others managed to rescue a kidnapped young woman that it took. We managed to kill the beast but were notified by locals that it has been "killed" multiple times and has returned multiple times to terrorize the area. There is the possibility that the creature, if truly not dead, may return and endanger the lives of farmers and their livelihood.

*Uriel leaves a report in the patrol log*

During a training session with Sir John, Lady Angelina and Squire William, we encountered alot of unusual undead activity within the Fields. It seemed an army was being raised as an onslaught of undead came against us. During our battle we found a fallen Miss Sayiel whom we were able to restore and heal. Aided by a powerful priest, we pushed our way through and put the undead to rest after a fierce battle.

It is of note that Lady Angelina rushed to alert the Fist about such a large army of undead heading towards the city, but no Fist came to reinforce our position during the battle.

Later on we formed another patrol to ensure there was no remaining threat in the Fields. I was accompanied by Sir Seth, Lady Svala, Sir Valiant of the Radiant Heart and a few adventurers wishing to lend their swords. We found nothing unusual in the Fields this patrol.

Upon returning to the Inn I met with Squire William and Squire Elias. I issued both of them tasks. Both went about their duties with diligence and haste.

William King has been seen around the Friendly Arm Inn the past few days studying the Code and taking notes, broken by intervals in which he leaves into the woods and returns to sit and ponder some more.

*Lady Elvina, after returning from a patrol, takes out the letter left on the doorstep of the Keep the other night and looks it over once again with a frown. Not knowing who or where to make a reply to, she makes a copy of the letter and sends it with a reply to Laitae of Candle Keep*

Aiden is spotted outside the keep looking for the Lady Elvina. Obviously unfamiliar with the ways of the Order he walks away carrying a scroll in his hand. He sits on the bench for a while, smiles to the guards in the front and decides to stroll off into the faded view of the trade-way.

After studying the Code of Conduct for the Order of the Silver Rose for many days, and pondering upon his experiences in the Order thus far, William writes the following:

I have spent the past few days pondering the relationship between duty and selflessness and it seems to me that the two are closely linked. I define duty as fulfilling my legal and moral obligations. This two-pronged sense of duty is what helps formulate my actions. I believe that rule of law exists to create peace and order, thus my duty to respect the laws of the land is set in place. Selflessness ties into the second part of duty, my moral obligations.

The Code discourses my duty to protect the innocent, to help the sick and the poor, and to use my time and wealth for the building up of the greater good. I saw the power of selflessness while on patrol with Lady Angelina in Baldur’s Gate. We brought resources for the sick and downtrodden. To see their faces light up was truly a reward as we offered simple items to them such as medicines for their children, blankets, or baskets of food. As one who has now sworn my life in protection of these good people it is my duty to serve them in such ways.

It is also my duty to fight for them. Most of my patrols have been spent south of the Friendly Arm Inn, investigating Tradeway banditry in that region. I believe that my efforts have helped make travelling a little safer for those who use the Tradeway.
I believe that each act I perform that makes life easier and safer for the people of the Baldur’s Gate region is a direct fulfillment of my duty. I also believe it is an act of service, a selfless act. Indeed, the continual and daily performance of my duty is in itself a selfless act; sacrificing of myself on behalf of the greater good.

I have come to ask myself two questions daily:
Have I done any good in the world today? Have I helped anyone in need?
