Actually, the majority of that xp was from players getting wafflestomped and Tpk'd without refund. It's basically an all in one. If you died in my event you would have to respawn without refund. Most of the players were mid to high epics so if you do the math, it nets out pretty much, unless you didn't die which would be a feat and deserving of that reward.

Plus everyone knows that I make spawns 1.5 times higher CR than what they pay out, so you are technically fighting a CR 20-25 mob rather than a CR 14-17 but only get the xp modifier for the lower CR since that is what it is set too in the module. Technically, you are fighting a CR 20-25 but getting the Xp of a CR 14-17 creature. It's a strategy for max loss, so you gain some xp from the event? But do you have any idea how much gold you just spent on consumables (potions, scrolls, healing kits, healing pots, wands) just to survive it because you need to compensate for the jump in the CR?

Even after going through all of that I barely ever offer monetary compensation as a reward. That allows me too put a large dent in your wallets, which then causes players to want to make up for their losses by grinding, farming, looting areas which then gives me an opportunity to repeat the above when they amass enough player numbers to interest me. It's the economics of adventuring, I do my job and it helps keep inflation in check and local economies growing.

Without this strategy your consumables would be non-liquid assets gathering dust, like a checking account you never use and never gain interest on.

In no particular order, thanks to:

Luna - for finding a way for me to login and play on the server

Nyz'eril V'nulora - for adventuring with me, introducing me to the basics of RP, and explaining some mechanics

Annie Gaebiels - for providing me with my first bgtscc RP experience, in my home, the Fugue

Nerruin Ziavuil - for giving me helpful starter tips that resulted in me leaving my home, the Fugue, more often

Ardul Rhyne - for carrying my corpse, helping me out, and giving me starter tips

Azmodeth - for my first rez and party invite

DM_Xzar - for teaching me some basics about bgtscc

Various other people that offered to help a newbie out, or were hanging out in the Fugue with me, or responded to my annoying noob posts: Telia Navra, Chalithra Aleval, Liandra Meinen, Nivarum Beziliskt, Silk Paralla, Nomster, Passiflora, Zorn, Jaden, Montaron Alagondar, Halo Deity, breteas, Eclypticon, Valefort

Sorry if I missed anyone who offered help, it wasn't intentional! The above names are a mix of forum and ign - oops.
It was overwhelming coming to the server initially...with the help of the people above, it is now less overwhelming. Getting the hang of it. So thank you!

EDIT: looking at the above...wow. It takes a village to raise a child (and you're not done yet).

A tremendous thanks to Maecius. I have had players tell me all day what a pleasure it was to be within one of his events and you know what, they are right :!:

Thanks Mac, we truly do appreciate you :)

I'd like to say a few thank yous. First, I'd like to thank TheVoid, passiflora, and maecius for helping to start off our badass guild. And I would like to thank metaquad4 for being a great sport in ooc roleplaying to help us in a guild quest. All you guys make this server pretty damn cool I must admit.

A big thank you to everyone who attended the Thistle premiere! I know quite many who weren't able to see it or arrived late would like a chance to see it. Please stop feeling bad over that you weren't able to attend! We'll have a rerun soon and will be announcing it on the forums when a date is decided. :)

Also big thanks to the DM who made the epic dragon costume :D

Holy crap!!!!

Maecius is a freaking GENIUS roleplayer!!!!! Wow Mac, I just now got what you did last night

I'm sorry, but I think you might be stuck with me for a little longer. Truly amazing, this could be up there with "The Usual Suspects" type of twist. Oh man, did we just fall for that one :|
