As she has not yet arrived at Baldur’s Gate, it’s safe to assume her job title to be ‘traveler.’ Once she gets here however, probably “noble beggar.”
Base Class & Proposed Development:
Amelia will have 25 levels of favored soul and 5 levels of paladin. I would have loved to play it straight or gone for a paladin/divine champion route, but I have zero idea how to play a paladin mechanically.
Habits/Hobbies:
Amelia loves to appreciate art and beauty, but she’s also a hipster so her perception of ‘beautiful’ might not be what the typical person would expect. She is a casual bird watcher, in that she currently has no idea what any of the bird’s names are but she damn well enjoys watching them. As typical of a Sunite, she does enjoy dancing.
Languages:
In my head canon, she can speak Cormanthan far better than she can speak common, hence why she will have a thick accent. But I forgot to get 12 intelligence specifically for this purpose. Anyway it makes more sense in my head that she speaks Cormathan better than she speaks common anyway so if granted the language, I intend to roleplay out the learning common part.
Weapon of Choice:
She could go with this, or she could go with that. In the failure to acquire a dancing Christopher Walken, the Gods have decided to grant her proficiency in flails instead.

Background:
Amelia Durante was born in 1321 to the Sunite priestess Joséphine Garnier, That was about as controversial as her life was ever going to get. ‘Lucky’ would be a good term to apply to her, for just about the only thing she’d ever dwelled on negatively about herself is the fact that she wasn’t born with her mother’s beautiful blonde hair nor acquired her father’s haunting grey eyes. Really. Brown hair, brown eyes. In the stories, you never heard the brown haired brown eyed girls getting the Prince in the end. They were always the dutiful maid, the lazy cook or some other background character.

She couldn’t help getting a bit miffed about it. She was a teenager once, you know. Who didn’t have problems when they were growing up? Fortunately and to stop deriving from the narrative, she continued to grow up.

In 1337, young 16-year-old Amelia was officially inducted into her mother’s temple as a sister. She always felt she could ‘feel’ the wishes and whims of Lady Firehair, and so after joining she also began her formal training as a priestess. Two years later Amelia got to meet her father, Dustin Durante, and found that he and her mother had ended their relationship on good terms prior to Amelia’s birth. Upon getting to know him better, Amelia decided to adopt her father’s surname, and while his life as a soldier often had him travelling, he had since maintained a friendly banter with Amelia and her mother. They often wrote to each other. To this day, they still do.

Seven years later, she continued to serve as a priestess of Sune. Her skills and abilities as a natural spellcaster garnered her plenty of respect (and quite likely hidden envy), but of course, as there were no real ranks amongst the clergy to aspire to, her achievements were really more personal ones. Her father had retired from soldiering two years prior and had taught Amelia some of what he knew. Eventually the Firehair called Amelia to serve in a more direct manner, and thus she began her paladin training.

Two years later, her mentors agreed that she required real world experience to further her abilities beyond their current limits. She chose to go somewhere foreign, though not outright alien to grow in as a person. In Ches 20,1348 Amelia Durante arrived in Baldur’s Gate, brimming with many, many emotions that no doubt come with leaving home for the first time ever.


Goals:
To champion Beauty’s cause, be an inspiration to little kids, and generally strive to leave the world a more positive place once she’s gone. Also to become a Sister of the Ruby Rose.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
This is the poem that finally made me settle with making a Sunite paladin, out of all the thousands of flavors you could go paladin with. Beyond just physical beauty, she will strive to bring out everyone’s inner beauty, and cultivate it.
