Background:

Harad was born to a small community of woodcutters, farmers and hunters on the outskirt of The Reaching Woods. They lived a peacefull enough lifes with their families on the bank of Chionthar River. For a few generation the families of this small community had floated timber and sold grain and game for the use of nearby Trade city of Scornubel. Hard labor and work in the woods and fields made the men of the families grow strong and Harad was no different in this case, being even more burlier lumberjack than most. He began working at young age, first delivering lunch, miscellaneous things and small tasks nessecary to the working men as a kid. As he grew he slowly moved to the hard labor with the other workers and was expected to follow this trail rest of his life.
His father was a stern retired soldier and began training his son in all manner of weaponry at young age. Knowing the woods not an innocent place and the dangers of the world, he wanted his son to make best use of his axe and other available weaponry should there be ever need for it. Although he only trained his son, the whole family paid homage and prayed to Foehammer per custom, his wife and Harads sister included. His parents did pay a priest to teach young Harad how to read and write common, but that was about the only education for the young woodcutter. Such a physical profession hardly made use of higher education in their minds.
Harad had become a fine young man, working effectively with timber as his father before him and the years kept rolling by. At his late-teens young Harad found himself more and more often in the company of girl name Elena. Harad had actually knew her a longer time, after all it was a small community, but only recently had the two been seen spending time together. The two had began liking each others company and forming a bond. It was not long and a suprise that the two lovers got married at the age of twenty three. After celebration filled with joy and happiness, the pair started imminently and eagerly building their own home at the outskirts of the little village. Their love florished and life was good in every aspect. Harad worked long days in the forest and Elena was busy taking care of the task at home. A few years rolled by this good way, but it was to end as soon as it started.
It it was the third year of the happy marrige that Elena got severly sick during winter. Many healers were brought to examine and treat the poor girl, but none of them had a treatment nor explanation what had befallen on her. Harad spent all his earnings and time to take care of his beloved wife. Seeking new ways and people to treat her as their funds saw fit. It was during the spring that Elenas condition had become most sever and Harad was out of options and funds. She passed away at the hight of springtime, when everything else blossomed green and colorful. The whole community mourned, but it was nothing compared to the sorrow of Harad. The man was left devastated and broken. Harad shutted himself in their former home, addandoning his job with timber and martial training. For awhile he was not seen nor heard outside of his home, only visited by his family on occasion. He was shut man even to them.
It did not take long that the always firm man could not simply take it anymore. Every corner of their former home reminded of his lost love. Every place he saw in the village was with a fond memory, but now so painfull. Seeing no other escape from this horrid exiexistence, he left at the quiet and dark of night. He only left a note to his family in their house, explaining his reasons. He also left his lastname, it reminding him of his wife too much.
From here he headed to the city of Scornubel and from there he made his way towards west. After few years he found himself in Baldur's Gate. Completely changed man from what he use to be, yet still a bit of saddness and home-sickness always lingering inside of him.

Goals: For now the main goal is to have fun and RP my character! :)
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: Harad did get to a close call accident when he was young. Their boat fell over and he would have drowned was it not for his father that saved him. For that reason he has always been afraid of boats, ships and deep water!
