Blood Reaving Part 3 FINALE

A Bloodreaver of Garagos hired a band of brigands to attack the Friendly Arms Inn, but they were repelled. Seeing that the bandits had failed, the Bloodreaver asked all those surviving in the battle to join him in a conquest against the gnoll hordes south of the Inn.

However, upon arriving at the Gnoll Fortress, many adventurers decided senseless slaughter and revenge were not the answer, and decided in stead to turn on the Bloodreaver. The bloodreaver and one single faithful follower (a PC) took on a large group of powerful adventurers.

The Bloodreaver and Garagos worshiper were defeated, and it seemed that the genocide about to happen in the Gnoll Caverns had been halted, but the massive fight that had occurred outside the wooden walls of the fortress awoken and angered many Gnoll warriors, (whom also drove enslaved gnomes on to fight as well). In the end, the gnolls were defeated anyways, and the God of War still got the last laugh as the adventurers bickered amongst themselves about proper ways to trust strangers serving Garagos.

Small Experience to all who participated.
+1 Lawful alignment shift for those who lawfully attempted to stop the chaotic nature that manifests the will of Garagos.
+1 Chaotic to Lotrik, being the only one to side with the Bloodreaver.

Druid Stone

Will-O-Wisps had been assaulting passerby and those who hung around the FAI. The cause of the attacks were uncertain, but many knew where the source was coming from. A small pond south of the FAI seemed to be drawing them close to the roads.

After a few days of reported attacks, many brave individuals approached the ponds murky waters. However, only one received any form of intervention. One man approached the water's edge and a druid, undead and ghastly in form peered out back to him from the water, stating that a sacred druadic artifact had been taken from the druid's resting place and it now lay Northwards in the hand of a certain wizard.

The individual who obtained the druid's message recruited a handful of "still living" druids as well as a very short knightly fellow and together, these five ventured north towards Baldur's Gate. They explored the graveyard and many parts of the Gate, speaking to important individual like Ragefast. Eventually, they discovered that they were seeking out a druid's stone, forged by ancient lizardmen craftsman. But finding this stone would be no easy task.

In one particular search, the group stumbled upon a warehouse where the inside was shrouded in unnatural darkness and shadow. Inside, they found hooded individuals, who seemed to be within a dark and secretive meeting. Or perhaps they were deep in worship? Regardless, these individuals were able to blend in with their shadows and their evasiveness and assassination skills within the darkness was all rather frightening. Upon defeating them, however, they found that the druid stone they were looking for was not present. Their leader had lost it to another source. Their only clue was a mysterious rolled letter writing "Meet us in the sewers."

Image

In the end, what had led to a long trek through the Baldurs Gate harbor as well as various tunnels below in the sewers the adventurers were able to pinpoint the location of a bandit's hideout. They tried to negotiate with the bandits, but words did not work. In the end, all the bandits fell, and the leader had upon his body the druid stone that they had been seeking. However, somehow a Drow Necromancer had come up to the surface and attacked, demanding the stone. The adventurers were nearly defeated but they too somehow managed overcame the undead master and his minions.

They used teleportation magic and returned to the FAI, where they then returned the druid stone. The earth swallowed up the ancient artifact and all went to rest... The will-o-wisps vanished and all returned to normal. But many questions remained unanswered. Why would a Drow be on the surface after the stone? Who were the mysterious cloaked figures attacking with silence and knives in their supernaturally conjured darkness? Many questions and mysteries were left hanging.

Exp Rewards for this long Quest:
Remus
Ivan Oakheart
Justan Daley
Breegan Sternbrow
Araulan

Each player received minor enchanted weapons when they defeated the final bandit boss and looted his weapon storage.

Delm, the wizard who lost his mind.

Image

A mad wizard entered the Northern Lights Inn in Nashkel and asked a group of adventurers to find something that he had lost. He did not tell the adventurers what he had lost exactly, but he had them go search for goblins that had apparently set up a base of operations in the nearby area.

The adventurers found the goblin hole and invaded it, killing many goblins and trolls in the process. They wiped out the goblins and gathered a lot of what the goblins had hoarded before dragging it all back to the Inn.

However, the wizard was not pleased. None of the items the adventurers had brought back were what he was after. At first he was outraged, but then, somewhere in the middle of his anger he remembered exactly what item it was that he had lost, and revealed the item to the group of adventurers.

He had lost his mind.

He then attacked in a furry, and summoned bladelings and other horrendous outsiders to do his bidding. The adventurers were crushed by the foes but in the end they were saved by the skills of Ries, the resourceful wizard innkeeper of the Northern Lights.

Ries tended to their wounds, healed them, told them of what had happened and then sent them on their merry way. They discussed the various mad events and recapped what seem to have been plaguing Nashkel as of late, but the innkeeper didn't know much. He himself didn't seem all too right in the head, the way he was giving out free drinks and free rooms to the adventurers.

Exp rewards to:
Vandred
Zachan Mard
yoruichii Lalani
Artemis Estrangeous
250 gold to each for looting the Goblin's secret lair. Many minor trinkets and items of lesser powers, including mushroom wines!

Lollth's Sweet Vengeance Part 1

A female drow was walking through the streets of Sshamath when she overheard a carrier Imp declaring that there was some incident involving the theft of idols from the temple of Lollth. The drow woman immediately ran to the temple to investigate.

G'eldala Baenani confirmed that there had been an assault on the temple and that objects of power were stolen, but did not release any major details. She simply asked that the loyal Lollthite that had come in great haste seek out others loyal to Malla Lollth and gather them at once.

A Broken Pact

What seemed to be a regular day outside of the Friendly Arms Inn turned rather interesting when a small Fey creature known as a quickling from Cloakwoods appeared to a few adventurers on the Tradeway. At first, some people laughed at it as it appeared to be harmless and friendly, but then it started to summon undead creatures and attack without warning. It would summon the creatures, then with lightning speed, flee the scene before any could attack it.

Many adventurers chased after the Fey, wondering why such a creature was summoning undead creatures. It lead them through the cloakwoods. Quicklings, undead, and shadow druid with their pets assaulted the adventurers. Eventually, the adventurers learned the source of undead power was coming from an old notorious mansion that lay on a cliff near the ocean.

The adventurers battled their way through to the second floor of the mansion where they discovered dark portals releasing undead. Some tried to guess or see what the portal was in terms of magic, but none could detect what it was until a voice came from the portal.

The portal voice declared itself to be a servant of the Tenth Lord of the Pit. the forsaken one (Gargauth, the forsaken devil prince that had been removed from the nine hells) and it demanded the leader of the Shadow Druids, who was locked away deep within a dungeon, guarded by servants of Malar. Some of the adventurers decided that they would stay and fight the undead creatures, while a very small handful went out to search for the druid.

Luckily, an archer and a renown bard working together were able to pinpoint the location of the Druid. The druid and archer battled their way through the foes (and after getting lost for what seemed like an eternity) eventually found, bound, and then brought him slowly back to the Mansion.

The place was still swarming with the undead, but upon arriving the bard and archer worked with the surviving adventurers and made their way back to the portal floor. The voice demanded that they hand over the druid, but the adventurers sensed that something was a miss. The druid admitted to sacrifice and the murdering of innocents for the dark lord for immortality, and that it had fulfilled his part in a pact, but the portal being seemed to be breaking the whole pact. The adventurers held the druid back as some invisible force tried to suck him into the portal. During the whole ordeal, however, a wizard cast a necromantic spell which ended up slaying the Druid. Seeing that the soul the portal so desired was destroyed, the Quickling, a servant of the forsaken lord, attacked. He was defeated and the corrupt fey was kicked into the portal. The portal burst and vanished and all traces of the evil inside were now gone.

Doing Time.

A large group of adventurers dragged a female wizard from Cloakwood forest to Baldurs gate. They had apprehended a wizard whom had cast necromantic spells.

Originally, this female wizard had attempted to teleport away from those who accused her of necromancy, but failed. This forced escape attempt left the adventurers no force but to render her unconscious and capture her, swearing to bring her to Baldur's Gate in order to demand justice.

After being questioned about the ordeal, the wizard is now in prison and is currently being interrogated.

Dance, Magic Dance!

A group of Nashkel Soldiers left their posts and wandered someways north on the trade route. There they set up barricades and stated tolling people to enter Nashkel. However, when a few adventurers confronted them and refused to pay, the guards begin to sing and dance a merry tune, until a passing bard played a rather disturbing song. They up and attacked her. The guards "friends" (Monsters) that were also dancing about with them in the shadows also attacked. The guards cried out and uttered strange and maddened ideas as they fought and danced.
Image

Eventually, all the guards had run away or were slain outside of Nashkel. A strange horse, which allegedly began speaking to the adventurers further moved those who defended themselves against the Nashkel soldiers into believing something was completely amiss and that the law enforcement of Nashkel was going crazy... yet, when they were questioned about it, the guards laughed it off, telling anyone whom talks to horses themselves are quite mad!

One of the adventurers also spoke of a warlock in the desert, but the guards of Nashkel have shrugged off any such report, deciding that claims about talking horses clearly made the ADVENTURERS, and not themselves look insane. The groups departed, seeing that nothing could be made out of any conversation.

Exp rewards given based on participation.

Lollth's Sweet Vengeance

Recently, trade had increased greatly in Sshamath due to certain developments . . . And naturally, new traders have also been popping up, selling goods and items to all of those around.

Image

However, two members of the House of Sshamath overheard some rumors from certain merchants about undercutting prices of low quality goods in mass amounts and decided to investigate. They discovered that one of the new come duergar merchants had been selling cheap wares for abnormal prices and had been lying to many about the quality and design of such inventory.

But they were not the only one's to figure this out.

A few male Drow also knew, and began to call the trader out on his treachery, accusing him of being a direct enemy of Lollth. The guards within the Dark Weave themselves came to investigate the problem, but what happened at first to be somewhat controlled ended up in chaos. Driven by some divine fury, the two male Jaluk defeated and pushed their way through some of the guard, causing a massive commotion in Sshamath for a long while. They escaped into the sewers, though only two certain female drow witnessed their epic escape.

With the chaos ensuing in the markets, the two females followed the trader until they discovered his secret whereabouts, deep within the sewers of Sshamath. . . the leader of the two females did not bother entering, perhaps not wishing to get dirty.

Down in the sewage, the single female ran into the duo that caused a commotion in the merchant's quarters. She discovered that they were fanatically and abnormally loyal to Lollth. They wandered and searched the sewers until coming across an odd gathering...
Drow playing merry music, the dwarven trader, who had been in a disguise as a Druegar, and a human from the surface. The Lollthites immediately confronted and butchered the group, sparing only the dwarf and the human trader. Finding new and secretive allies which lay hidden away in the depths of the sewers, the single Jabress returned to her master with two prisoners, and reported on her findings. Apparently the Druegar had been selling the more ignorant Sshamathians faulty weapons on purpose to allow them certain death in combat when the weapons would have been actually used...

The two Drow, loyal to Lollth, locked the unconscious bodies of surface traders away in deep and dark cells to later be questioned and probably tortured.

Knocked Out !

A blind elf was somehow miraculously fishing in Ulgoth's beard (Who knew that the blind could fish so well!) when he suddenly blacked out. His friend carried him off to the Temple of Torm in Baldur's gate, but the divine priest of Torm had a rather difficult time bringing him back to the world...

After some time, however, the blind elf was eventually revived. . . and they continued on their way. . .
Exp rewarded to a few certain Elves.

Lollth's Sweet Vengeance

The two traders had not been forgotten. Three Jalil entered the Spider's Kiss where the merchants were being held. Each had dark intent within their heart.

The merchant's had been awake for some time, and had been left there, but finally it was time for them to be dealt with. The female human merchant shivered and remained quiet. There was a tremendous amount of fear plastered across her face. Her dwarven companion however was much more vocal. He mocked, cursed, and swore at his captors. The dwarf was the one that the drow decided to interrogate first.

Leading him to a torture block, the Lollthites tied down the dwarf and began to question why he was down in Sshamath, selling faulty and cheap weaponry. They tortured him and got a lot of information out of him, and much quicker than they had though they would have. Nevertheless, the Drow each enjoyed watching the dwarf squirm and suffer.

Image

In the end, the Dwarven body, despite being tough, gave way to torture. He screamed and screamed and their was much delight amongst the Drow jailers. Now beardless, the dwarf's corpse was thrown to giant Glow spiders. They wrapped his body up in web and later consumed him.

After all the events, the Drow were left to ponder the purpose of the traders, now knowing the true reason that the dwarf had made his way down to Sshamath to sell weapons in the first place. . .
