Fishing Village

Unread post by Ol' Kel »

Ack! The Ulcaster School of Magic (dungeon) area I was working on got corrupted because I forgot to turn off the toolset's auto-save after reinstalling NWN2. :(

I don't feel like redoing all that work on Ulcaster... The good news is I picked up working on a different area. Namely the Fishing Village that's supposed to go between the Friendly Arm Inn and the Bandit Camp area's, on the east coast of the Chionthar river.

If all goes well, it should be done this weekend. :)

It is a nice rural area, and could host a mob type with a slightly higher CR rating than the wolves, bandits and baby phase spiders. That would fill the steep CR gap between the hills and the area's bordering the FAI.

And should Ankheg's ever be introduced, this is the place to put them :)

(work in progress)

Anyhoo, this is not yet an official BG project. Just something I'm working on, and should the Dev staff like it, they're welcome to the area.

If the crafting system was in, cooking would be awesome! The Neverwinter Nights server I was on (Arelith) used to have certain spots where you were able to fish. Good times...

I'd love to see fishing added in, adn the village looks very nice.

Is there a thread showing your work on the Ulcaster ruins? That is an area I'd very much like to see in the game.

Adding fishing would be so easy. I recently coverted all of heeds angler hak to work with HCR2 and CNR. When BG gets crafting in this should go with it since they'll have to upgrade all the areas to add craftable resources. Dropping a few waypoints for fishing spots should be a breeze.

Sorry to hear about Ulcaster and your lost efforts... but the Fishing Village looks awesome! Can't wait to see it implemented (even if it's rather later than sooner). Keep up the nice work!

Let's say Ajantis is 30 in Baldur's Gate, then he would be 11 right now.

Ajantis is probably younger than that... Iirc he's just out of Squirehood or whatever their training is called (He was squired to Keldorn, by the way. Strangely Keldorn doesn't say a peep when you slaughter Ajantis in BG2... I guess he forgot about him. Ajantis never were particularly memorable, after all ;) ), so I'd say he's 20-25 something?

Oh, and then there's the thing that he's Amnian, I guess :P

Did you purposefully reduce the scale from the original screenshot?
