Re: DM Thundershot's Events
A Family Reunion
Mattie sobbed and wailed as she walked the streets of Baldur's Gate looking for help. Her daughter had been kidnapped by kobolds earlier in the day as they walked the farmlands. The poor lass was at her wit's end when she met Sydney Grey, a young adventurer new to Baldur's Gate. The man may have smelled a bit of alchohol, and claimed to not be much of a fighter, but as Mattie sobbed her story out to him he vowed to find aid for her.
Knowing he couldn't face the numbers of the kobolds alone, Sydney quickly found aid from the ranger Fircair Miruvar and a member of the Flaming Fist. As they travelled south with all haste the group was joined by the ranger Aloria ap Ravar as well. Together these four made their way to the old ruins that lie on a hilltop just south of the city.
As they entered the dank and musty ruins that the kobolds have made their home they were met with some resistance. Deeper inside they encountered Tomar of Scar who offered his aid as well in the company's quest to find Mattie's missing child. Now they numbered five, and quickly dispatched any kobolds that stood in their way. The tracking skills of the rangers proved useful as the group found the child huddled in a corner, surrounded by the vermin who held her. The child was scared, but offered her hand to Sydney as the group led her to the safety of Baldur's Gate.
As they travelled, the little girl's mood brightened considerably. She told them of her mother's work, and that they could find her "where the boats are". She pointed and giggled at the chickens, and made reference to her mommy's boss giving her candy when she returned. As they entered the docks districts of Baldur's Gate, the priest of Tyr Beren Cross decided to help the group along. The little girl led the group directly to the place of her mother's employment. A large warehouse standing right on the docks.
As they entered the warehouse the child ran directly to her mother who wrapped her arms around her daughter in genuine joy to see her safe. As the mother and daughter spoke to some of the folks responsible for her safety, the Tyrran had taken interest in the two figures who stood not far away. The fight erupted as Beren had sensed the inherrant evil of the vampire couple and struck swiftly and brutally to end their existence. The group found several more creatures of the night, and dispatched them as well. Their battles were well fought, and none were bitten or harmed.
After a long explanation and thanks from the grateful mother, the group bid her well, and offered her 1000 gold pieces to rebuild what the vampires had destroyed.
///Thanks everyone for the great RP during my first event back as dm. Participants were Tomar of Scar, Sydney Grey, Fircair Miruvar, Beren Cross, Alorian ap Ravar, and another of the Fist (I can't believe I forgot your name!)
