Making books and tomes of lore

Unread post by Moltrazahn »

Having been on the server for a good amount of years now, and my main Za'than quite well known for being both a half-devil and Warlock, seeking to expand his knowledge on the Abyssal and Baatorian realms. The idea struck me that, while he willingly provides any knowledge he has on these topics, that he could author books with this sort of information aswell. Something like 9 tomes each describing the nine layers of hell, its denizens, respect lords and climate (all according to the present era' the server is set in ofcause).

Now granted, being from outside the prime material plane, he may know things that others dont. Yet if it is even allowed to handwrite these things, i was wondering if the idea of doing a lore-roll before each book, would be an idea to limit/attain the more unknown aspects. Then on the book itself, doing a bracket, saying that "This book was written with a lore roll of xx", giving players the ability to possibly add to the knowledge of said books content, in their own words with a higher roll. Granted, this all should be read and approved by the staff, so no hickups would occour.

Anywho, to sum it up, im asking if: Would i be allowed to try and write such things, and have them ported in the game itself. And, what are the bounds when writing lore for puplic books?, How will one know if its a lie or truth written, without a lore check on the contents etc?

Lastly, who should i have to poke about all of this :)

Best regards!

We have an in game book system.
would using that work?
It has some limitations. Like it's limited to 10,000 words and you can't use apostrophes.

Someone was having difficulties getting the books ingame..

Im holding onto one that Rhys's player made, and would like to see if it can be added, or how to add them.
