Re: Helping Triel
He lingered in Triel throughout the night, brooding upon the cloaked man's words off and on. He raised the torch to grab a fresh, cold glass of Zzar. The stress, notable physical and mental injuries of the children, and the staggering weight of what must still be done worsened his condition of trauma.
He swiped his wet brow with the edge of his darksteel pauldron. His thousand league stare settled on ominous skulls winking out the windows of devastated farmhouses. He leaned his head against the wall, meaning to ease up, but a sudden panic clawed his eyes open.
The skulls were staring at him with red, tortured eyes, and a dull ringing ensued from the deep, recess of his mind.
Hardly anyone was awake, he could vaguely spot a farmer upon a precipice. The torch dimmed to a lone flicker, and there was a silence that held the darker forces of nature and man at bay.
Valiant shook a fist at the moon, maybe finding it as the source of all his rage.
"I'll show you delusional..."

Re: Helping Triel
Many of the farmers and villagers wonder why so many come to Triel, offering to cure the sick, feed the hungry and bring undetermined supplies...for the people of Triel are not in dire straights.
It was the people of Triel's luck to barter the scales and bones of the Green Dragon for food, materials to rebuild and seed to prepare for a winter planting, once the farmlands have been drained of the foul Orc blood that had saturated the soil. The liberators of Triel waged war upon the Black Orc throughout the hamlet, and when an Orc fell, it did so in the most bloodied manner.
For those that visit the outdoor tavern nestled in the walled hilltop of Triel, a sharp ear would overhear talk between the locals, wondering aloud on how could any Order or Guild think they can just hand over thousands of coin and somehow earn the respect of the people...or, why do such individuals of odd sorts propose to know what's best for the man or woman of Triel...or, all outside voices always say "here, you need this..." but not one single voice asks: "what do you want, what can I offer you?"
It seems—very much so—that the people of Triel are tired of being talked down to, or assumed to need assistance...as if the people of Triel, themselves, can't be their own judge of what is needed, wanted, and earned!
The people of Triel were saved at the last moment to escape the direct wrath of the Black Orc, and that is never forgotten. What is also not forgotten is whom took action to clear the Black Orc menace from the fields.

Re: Helping Triel
Feeling that he has accomplished what he's been told to do, the cloaked man quietly leaves the town at the end of the day.
At the border of Triel, near a small pocket of forest close to the river, he pulls off the crude cloak and disposes of it into the murky water. Nearby, hidden within a fallen branch, he takes out a different cloak and throws it around his shoulders.
He then turns around and looks back at the settlement, smirking mischievously, his emerald green eyes twinkles in the dusk that heralds the coming of the night.

The cloaked figure whom felt it wise to present such a spectacle was not alone when he left the town. A keen eye had been watching him quietly from the shadows and now, as this antagonist passed from the world of man into a place this silent watcher knew all too well, the hunt truly begins.......

Re: Helping Triel
It is late when Rose can be seen returning to Triel, tired and hungry she heads to the temple to assist any ill that may be their before taking to her own tent. Laying down she tries to rest for as long as she can before the set starts to come up, and as such so does she.
Starting early in the morning she heads around offering her help to any that may need it and let those know that will be leaving Triel soon as the town seams to be doing better. By the days end she speaks with the priest/priestess of the temple to leave an address to contact Rose incase she is needed, leaving some basic healing kits and potions she feels its time to move on, she will return as needed and stop by every so often to see how things are going.

*The Steward of Kraak Helzak sends a message addressed to Elderman Trabo*
Elderman Trabo
I offer you the aid of some of our master masons to reinforce your stone bridge which is so directly key to future trade passing through you on the Dusk road. With the possible future aid in other stone and Iron works as well. We Dwarves are a forward thinking people and recognize the worth of Triel. To repay our aid we ask only for a trade deal for grain between Triel and Kraak Helzak be struck. We can discuses the price to be set for the grain whether in coin, stonework, or finished ironworked goods, or a combination of. As well as to what's a respectable amount of time for your recovery before such trade is equitable. This relationship is good for both our peoples.

Re: Helping Triel
A traveler enters the outskirts of Triel. His robes are a flowing gray, the edge of his hood resting at his brow, of matching tone. Small arcane runes mark the edge of his clothes. Within his hands, he holds a staff, and at the end of the staff, the wood curls around a stone that floats of its own power. The man—for from a distance the physique does appear to be of one—slowly walks the distance from the outskirts to the walled center that rests higher upon a hill. This traveling man pays no attention to the farmers, their fields...nor any others that may or may not be in the area that his concentrated pace takes him. Seeing that no sentries mark the edges of the walled center, the traveler moves upwards upon the stairs, stopping once past the wooden walls, to slowly observe the action of the people that occupy the town center. The traveler then looks to the left, eyeing one building in particular. His slow gait brings him to a particular door at the front of one of the larger, wealthier looking buildings that are crowded within Triel's walled center.
The traveler does not knock. For a time, he only waits with a certain stillness, a certain silence. At some moment of another, after any observing him standing there, would momentarily turn their head away, to check the rise of the sun in the sky, or view into their coin purse for a split second, when looking back upon the traveler, where he had stood, they would notice that he was now, gone.

A young woman, walking away from the river, holding a dripping wash basket, stops in front of the path of Laitae, early on a summer's evening.
Their conversation is abruptly ended when a group of older men appear near them, walking along another path towards the river.
The young woman quickly hurries home.

Laitae replies briefly to the young woman before she hurries off, then approaches the group of older men, offering them aid, as she has done many times with other villagers.

Re: Helping Triel
A warpriest of Tempus, armed and armored, can sometimes be seen traveling the road from Baldur's Gate to Triel, menacing and raiding the goblinoid creatures in the hills.
Bloodied, he can be found drinking at the small tavern, buying the occasional round when his turn comes up, and generally rubbing elbows. He speaks to those with clear eyes, stout arms or discontented voices when they are willing to entertain conversation, espousing the benefits of martial training, the comfort of having a steel on the wall next to your hoe, and the skill to wield both. If the village council or the flaming fist allow an audience, he suggests the formation of a more formal, local militia, and offers to provide weaponry and training to those who would see their homes made safe with their own hands.

Several merchants seems to have made their way to Triel after the encouragement to help.

Amara arrives in Triel and after discussing the situation in the town with Squire Urendir of the Silver Rose, she sets up outside the palisade to lighten the farmers' toil with some jaunty music that she supposes to be appropriate for rustic sorts.
She plays most of the afternoon and into the evening.

A messenger leaves the hilltop center of Triel, heading north towards the Troll Claws...maybe further. It appears the messenger is equipped to make a journey in the deeper valleys where clans dwell, by the gear that is strapped to his backpack.
