Tempus alignment choices

Can a follower of Tempus go True Neutral? It is only one step away from his Chaotic Neutral. I just want to make sure because this is for a cleric build and I don't want those fizzles...

My take on Tempus from FR lore is that the god loves battle for the sake of battle, and often in a war will fight for one side then switch to the other. The nature of the chaotic side of the god is, in my opinion, imperative because it makes him completely unpredictable. True neutral AL seeks to affect and maintain The Balance of all things in terms of adjudicating between all of the different aspects of alignment - good, evil, law, and chaos. In my mind, I could see a Tempuran priest who was True Neutral with chaotic tendencies being as one who would cast area of affect offensive spells into a melee comprised of friend and foe alike; heal friends just enough to get back into the fight, and if the fight were good enough, heal an enemy just enough to keep the fight going I believe there are some pit-falls to playing a character who is mis-aligned to their god (if they are a devotee, that is to say a cleric/palidon, etc) but not so much if the god is just someone that they call on in times of need, or maybe their parents worshipped, etc. As a character I think I would want more information concerning what you had in mind for me to be able to give any other advice.

In the Forgotten Realms a cleric can only be True Neutral if her deity is also TN. Otherwise the 'one step' rule applies with a few exceptions (i.e NG post-Godswar Mystra/Midnight adopted the clergy of her LN predecessor.
