Jason Whitelake

Unread post by Deathgrowl »

First Name: Jason
Last Name: Whitelake

Appearance: At 10 charisma, he seems quite average, but quite muscular.
Race: Human
Age: 25
Height Slightly shorter than average.
Weight: Quite heavy due to muscle.
Eyes: Green
Hair: Shaved and practical. Black stubble.
Facial Hair Style: Same as hair.

Personality Profile:
General Health: Is in good condition and well trained.
Deity: Helm
Initial Alignment:Lawful Neutral, leaning towards Lawful Good. Will likely end up Lawful Good if awarded alignment shifts in DM events.
Profession: Guardian, mercenary.
Base Class & Proposed Development: Rogue4/Fighter18/Divine Champion8
Habits/Hobbies: He tends to his equipment with great care (some would say almost obsessively), as this is one of the commands of Helm's dogma. He will adventure and search for "a perfect warhammer". He is very passionate about guardianship and whatever duties he may have at any time.
Languages: Common, Chondathan, Cant, Elven
Weapon of Choice: Warhammer

Background:
Born in Suzail, Cormyr. His family:
Father: Danlach Whitelake, human Expert 15, weaponsmith. Age: 49. Lawful Neutral
A stern, but kind man, Danlach brought his son up with the use of the smithing hammer, teaching him the basics of weaponsmithing. This also became the reason for Jason's weapon of choice, as he felt comfortable wielding a hammer.

Mother: Cla'athen Sumsalae Whitelake, half-elf wizard 17. Age: 78. Lawful Good
Cla'athen is a kind and loving mother, if a bit sad. As a half elf, she knows she may well outlive her children, and she struggles a bit with fitting into the human society. She enchants weapons for her husband's custom orders.

Younger sister: Elisa Whitelake, human rogue3/wizard4. Age: 21 Neutral Good.
Elisa is cheerful and helpful, but with a slight knack for mischief. She's learning the Art from her mother. She has a great relationship to her brother, despite the fact that his protective nature has ruined a few chances at romantic relationships for her. Or it may have saved her from harm, as she can be a bit too trusting. She knows it, and thus trusts her brother's better judgement.

When Jason was 16, he signed up for the Purple Dragons, and spent several years training to become a guard of Castle Obarskyr. During this time, he met several followers of Helm, one of which, a priest of Helm who healed his company during one of their missions. This priest spoke of the the patron of all guardians, and this inspired Jason.

After several more such encounters with helmites and especially that particular priest, Jason decided to leave the Purple Dragons. He though about this for a long time, as the Purple Dragons were very true guardians, and did suit him very well. However, through conversations with the cleric, he now wished to work directly for the church of Helm, a calling to become a champion of the faith.

He further learned from the priest that the House of the Guardian in Nashkel would be a good place to start. From there, he could go to the Temple of Helm in Baldur's Gate, and between those two places, he would surely find helmites that might give him work and perhaps guide him in his calling. The cleric also adviced him to become an adventurer meanwhile, as that could give Jason a sense of perspective that the steady work in the Purple Dragons didn't offer. There are, the priest had said, many helmite adventurers, as one often finds important things to guard on adventures.

Goals:
  • As an adventurer, he looks for any work that is honourable. But he will always also prefer work in which he has to guards something, and especially if the work is steady, like an actual employment rather than just a freelancer. Ideally, he would work for the church of Helm.
  • Connect with other Helmites in the area.
  • Get contacts within the House of the Guardian in Nashkel.
  • Become a true, recognized champion of Helm.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
  • He deeply respects all loyal guardians, no matter what they are guarding.
  • If he is hired to guard something, he will guard it with his life.
  • He will do almost anything a priest of Helm commands him to do, without question.
